    This is helping me so much! To share a personal experience, I didn’t do well with my first fieldwork experience because I was often anxious to the point where I couldn’t handle it, the supervisor mentioned to my professor that one of the biggest concerns was that I wouldn’t engage with children because I didn’t know how to, even after I was shown a demonstration of what I can do with the children. I often feel afraid to make mistakes but I need to allow myself to make these mistakes in order for me to learn from them.
    So my point from the personal experience is that I was given another chance to demonstrate how serious I am about working with children and families. Watching your video is one of the first steps I’ve taken to better understanding on how to be comfortable engaging with children so thank you again. I subscribed to your channel and I look forward to watching more videos on engagement

    These tips are very helpful Jasmine. As a child protective worker I always try to work with kids and their families in non threatening ways to build trust. I am already using some of these tips, but I have also learned some new ones. Thanks alot beauty.

      Great Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you heard about - Trentvorty Kids Science Theorem (google it)? It is a smashing exclusive product for becoming an excellent parent without the normal expense. Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 at last got astronomical results with it.

    I've been working at a youth residential mental health facility for 2 months and 16 days and I want to pull my hair out every night. There are no breaks. I work 12 hour shifts....... I am constantly working...... I am tired of hearing about who's dating who and all the petty drama (kids and staff), like wtf. I am a MSW student currently, but my background is in education studies. I am used to working in educational institutions with black and brown kids. I am frustrated with working with white kids who take the experience as a joke. I can't blame them because the actual facility is a joke. I mean ghetto as hell. There are people of a lighter hue in positions they are not qualified for making pretty decent money for BMWs while we (the behavioral health associates) make between 12-17 dollars..... please tell me it isn't like this everywhere in the Mental Health Field. Also when I am not working I am sleeping because I am so drained and I feel taken advantage of in a way.

      Unfortunately, what you've experienced happens a lot at these types of facilities. When I worked at a children's home, I wanted to actually dance when I got fired because it was miserable. You learn quickly that these organizations really don't care about the children and upper management is a joke. Staff can be physically abused like it's nothing. No one will support you when it happens either. I was bitten and hit with sticks. What broke my heart was the condition the children lived in

      @@smblew01 we'd be fighting lol!!! I am about to work on my resume now for a human services job. I can't keep working in a toxic work environment. It's for the birds. I have 1 1/2 degrees from HBCUs they taught me better. Before I leave, I want to take pictures and videos and slide them under a news outlet door.

      @@tierastevens2101 Lol. If you can get out, it's best you do. It's never worth your sanity. It sucks that you have to take jobs like this even after earning degrees, but you'll find something better. Good luck to you!

    I work with around 3-8 kids at a camp, and during COVID I am restricted in a lot of sport activities that they would enjoy. It’s hard to get them all to do activities, but they say they’re bored even when they’re offered activities, any advice?

    • @JasmineAmaa
      @JasmineAmaa  4 года назад +3

      Sarah Kinsey sometimes it’s good to get them to decide what they will like to do. Sometimes u can do those activities with just one person, even a co worker and then the child may end up joining. Also remember u r not there to b their entertainment so if u offer activities and they r not keen on it that’s okay too, try again another time xx
