Love you Jocko you helped me loose 60 lbs and now I’m joining the military cause everytime I ran I listened to you and it’s helped me shape who I am today
Don’t join the military unless you have zero passions or guidance.. it’s a commitment that doesn’t may great unless ur a cog in the machine type or you wanna go risk ur life for real
Good for you! I became an officer in a combat trade because of Jocko. Zero regrets. I have an incredible career now and I am in sick shape. I have Jocko to thank for many lessons learned about life and leadership in the military.
I owe a huge thank you to Jocko and this channel; I was medically rejected from Serving when I tried but using all the principles I have gathered from watching this channel has helped me in my landscaping career massively, after just two years from my final army rejection, I am now becoming a team leader for a small business and have purchased the dichotomy of leadership to ensure I can grow into the role. In this world of distraction it’s important to listen to voices of true value like this channel. Thank you Jocko 💪
I happened to see this comment and wanted to drop you a line: I joined the USMC after high school and did almost 9 years, total. You should know that me, and lots of dudes like me....have A LOT of respect for dudes like you. See, I NEEDED the Marine Corps because I wasn't ready to be an adult yet. I NEEDED the "training wheels" of structure, discipline, and to have a mission given to me. You, on the other hand, managed to become a NO-SHIT GROWN-ASS MAN.... all on your own. That's a lot harder to do than it looks. I doubt I could've done it. I needed a lot of extra help to accomplish what you've done on your own. That right there is true respect - I look at you and think, "Goddamn. That motherfucker has done something that I don't know if I could've done..." Keep on getting some! Take care of your guys and your company and your customers. Respectfully, SH
@ thank you man I appreciate those words alot, getting to grips with everything needed to be a successful adult is still a work in progress but that’s always going to be the case 😂 I never thought about it from your perspective before so thank you, I hope you’re doing great yourself, keep getting some brother 💪
Most mind blowing thing Jocko has taught me was a gem hidden in here that I'm sure was unintentional. Seabee is a play on words for Construction Batallion.
Most mind blowing thing is that you think you found something that Jocko did not know and did not put in there intentionally. You are both overestimating yourself and underestimating everyone else simultaniously.
@@rooknado What I meant to say was that someone like Jocko probably knows that because he was deeply ingrained in the military. The way I said it was uncalled for though. When I made the comment I was in a bad headspace and came to youtube to give my mind a distraction. It's easy to lash out on random people on the internet, but it is never the right thing to do, so for that I apologize.
My hubs was a Ranger (2nd Battalion) from 93’-95’. He has a great story about training in Panama and why he would never mess with a Seal in the water. Some of the best times of his life.
i remember having a rest break at kirkuk airfield in some junky tents watching wendigo and lizzy mcquire movie(only movies on that base). LT Bernstein was there too. we watched those movies like 3 times, lots of laughs and ridiculousness. he was a good man
People don’t mention it a lot, but going to school is a way to find community and purpose as well. Even just taking a few classes at community college, university, trade school, whatever. You will have new goals and assignments that have to be competed on a timeline, so helps you focus, puts on pressures. And you will be in class or group of people dong the same thing facing the same challenges.
This keeps coming up in a playlist, and I really do want to watch and listen to it. I like Midwesterners. I like "Plains Indian" Natives. It's complicated.
Dude, I wish I had joined the military. 19 year old kid with a whole platoon of go hards ready to ride for you IMMEDIATELY. "We're going back... right??"
Greatness, Leadership, Bravery, High moral fibre is natural. it cannot be learnt, taught, adopted. it is either you in totality or not. I have met people who have led normal lives, 9-5 individuals, who carry more weight in character, natural charisma then much of what I see on YT and other outlets. You can pick out traits, you can remember times when you have been good, but to live that life day after day and run to those rules is not for everyone.
I wonder if Jocko Willink ever actually reads these comments ? About 5 years ago I ssid something really disgusting about someone I hated, then I got a phone call about a week later from the local police trying to get me to confess to making threats ???
Hello Jocko Willink, from Nebraska🌽 I notice your reccomendations regarding less emotion equals less ego? Well right now during the eve of election night Alot of your followers that belong to far right extreme militants groups including a step family member of mine. Have been making comments and threats of violence. I would reccomend you telling your followers to stand down and cancel engagement. I would also forward the fact they are about to make unrevesible decisions that will negatively affect they're life. 11/05/2024 ...................................................................... I disagree that it cannot be taught. Perhaps you’re right, but I hope you’re not. As a father I feel it’s my primary job to teach those things.
I always wondered why military engineers were so easy to get meetings with for new applications.

personally i love the little cut aways in video to echo listening. idk why but it makes me laugh a little everytime. great episode!
Jocko's show of humility by downplaying the difficulties of BUD/S training in comparison to Ranger School is nothing short of extraordinary.
Awesome times outstanding, 🎉🎉🎉
I’m so glad I escaped this fate

Interesting episode. Lots to think about. only one teeny tiny criticism? He says ideal, with an L, when he means idea. Drives me nuts. On me though.
