No matter what you say, I am now convinced that at least one space trooper sang during combat. It's just statistically probable.
Statistically speaking, with their access to old Earth media (yes, that is a thing) and the sheer number of Space Marines that have fought, it is probable. If you are including all the Adeptus Militarum and Adeptus Sororitas, it is an inevitability, and it has to have happened many, many times. Statistically, there are probably entire Regiments that have this as their battle anthem. Remember, 1 Million worlds in the Imperium, averaging about a dozen Guard Regiments per world, it is inevitable.

This, as a Tactical in the middle of a swarm with two brothers down. What a game!
This is the type of music I imagine the Emporer's Children scream at their opponents to turn their bones into mush.
Can't get enough of this. This has been the most epic cover I've heard in a while
God I wished I recorded my match I had just the other day in Space Marines 2, second op, me and two others who are just starting out (level 2-3 at most) and we end up getting to the final boss.
We get to phase 2, the boss starts shooting out those waves, the small ones are swarming us, and NOBODY has a solid idea what is about to hit us. One of us went down cuz the ads swarmed him, causing him to miss the waves coming in and knocking him down. Second managed to avoid the waves, but was out of ammo, so he turned his back to grab some from a pile, and tried to grab a stim to heal, big mistake. Boss sent 2 sword slashes at him, knocking him down to the ground.
All that’s left is me, with a melta-rifle, a bolt pistol, a chainsword, a grenade, and a single relic with no heals. It’s at this point where I realize that both teammates are down, the ads are about to swarm me, and the boss is focused solely on me.
I mop up some ads next to me, toss a grenade to clear the majority of the ads, and get hit by the boss with that double hit combo he does, causing me to run away in an attempt to put some distance between us. I end up running into the last of the ads who stall me just enough for the boss to send another sword slash at me as I finish the chainsword stomp, causing me to get knocked as well finally.
All of this happened within 10-20 seconds, everyone is down, the boss is still at 40% health, and my teammates have about given up, but instead, I spot the button to self-res due to the relic, so I do the only thing possible.
I shout into the mic “THE EMPEROR PROTECTS ME!!!” as I stand up and finish off the last ad in front of me, and try running over to pick up my teammate closest to me. I get 1/3 of the way through the res before I have to run as the boss pushes me, fast, forcing me to dodge the attack and dash back to put space between us.
I immediately start dumping round after round from my bolt pistol into him, causing him to do a spin attack that I perfect dodge, hit the snap-shot, and continue to move back as the boss rushes me. Another two sword attacks come at me, I dodge the first, perfect dodge the second, another snap-shot, more pistol rounds to his face, and he goes into the wave attack. I start rolling through them until he has that little pause where I run up and start BLASTING him with my melta-rifle, dealing a good chunk of damage as he starts his melee attacks again, causing me to dodge, shoot, dodge, snap-shot, dodge, snap-shot, dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot.
This continues until I get him to less than 2% health and my first teammate respawns, and immediately dumps his heavy bolter into the boss’s face, causing us to finish the fight in the single most badass way possible as I play distraction after stalling and whittling the boss down after a whole minute and a half, with no stims, no teammates, and no grenades, all with starter gear. This is the perfect song to match the entire situation, and I wish I recorded it so I could have put them together to commemorate that battle.
It's like Elton John met 1980's Megaman music.
