    Good to see Pav back in the workshop and so enthusiastic about the car. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty and his participation in the restoration will make the car even more precious to him. Best wishes.

    Love to hear you say "this section is done" and while all the metal is back in, there must be a kilometer of welding somebody will have to do to finish it. Love the content, love the background music, you've sped up various pieces at a great rate between too slow and so fast we couldn't tell what was done. There are a lot of skills on display here, both in front and behind the camera!!

    Ryan , I am aware of how clever you are, but this still knocks me out, the attention to detail and degree of finish is amazing, its going to be an amazing car for the owner to drive, its nice to see Pavel visiting and helping out, he is one lucky guy and made a good choice in getting you to sort his motor

    The cast iron calipers of course, didn't get hot enough in the oven because they weren't in there long enough. This is why they are pink... insufficient temperature...🤔😳🇬🇧

    For me, the WOW factor of this video was the size of the gantry crane. That thing is massive. I’m guessing that building was used for something different and the crane was already there before you guys took possession. As far as the car is concerned, the cherry paint sure adds some bling and looks awesome.

      Indeed, the huge gantry crane came with the building. There’s a long ago video on preparing & taking possession.

    What a transformation ne should have got the wheels coated at the same time but I do think the colour might have needed to be more tame for the wheels.

    I'm commenting here because this is the newest video.
    I would like more information about the E24 car.
    What's up. Are we going to see more of that or is it on hold? I have followed it from the very beginning, incredible transformation.
    Therefore, I hope to see the remaining work.
    The result will, without the slightest doubt, be completely unique.I consider this E24 as an brand new when finished.

    Ryan he done the bushes wrong they will start to squeak and make a lot of noise
    Plunders tape is needed on the insert and the bush
    Wrap around the tape around both and then use the grease before installation and there will be no noise from the new bushes
    It’s the only thing that works
    I know it’s probably finished and home but it’s an effective way for noise reduction from polyurethane bushes
    Fantastic job on the BMW as like all your other restorations
    Amazing finish to detail and will last for years to come
    🤙🤙🤙

    Maybe should've painted calipers black before powder coating.

    • @Aviopic

      A lot of people don't understand that the base coat determines the colour or luminosity of the top coat, it's a shame really 😔

    • @AJB1
      @AJB1 6 месяцев назад

      @@Aviopic I think they do a primer powder coat first, from what I remember of the previous powder coating video and from what he said in this one. So the colour of that primer would be the same for both. Don't really understand why the end result came out differently, unless it's either a different thickness of colour coat, or the primer melting into the colour coat and the colours mixing a bit. But I'm just guessing; no experience or knowledge!

    • @Aviopic
      @Aviopic 6 месяцев назад

      @@AJB1 yes that's the normal procedure but parts must have the same primer colour if you want the same result, black for maximum saturation, white for maximum brightness or anything else necessary to achieve the desired effect. In this case a candy(powder or wet doesn't matter, they are both paint) was applied over black(or dark)cross members and aluminium(or light) coloured calipers which caused the difference in appearance.

    • @AJB1
      @AJB1 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Aviopic but that’s what I’m questioning. In the previous powder coating video by the same guys, they did a powder coat primer first, then (solid) colour, then clear. They said they did primer here too when talking about the different temperatures. If so, then the candy went over the same colour primer for both. Hence I don’t understand why the colour would have come out different.

    • @Aviopic
      @Aviopic 6 месяцев назад

      @@AJB1 so I think the prep wasn't done in this case. Which is fine, we all screw up from time to time. It's just the "different material" bollocks that triggered me 😉

    Poly bushings in suspension is not a good thing. They dry up and fall out.

  • @billgaytes6845
    @billgaytes6845 6 месяцев назад +1

    Powder coating, PAH, the owner of this car will regret that decision in a few years. Unless you galvanize the steel the powder coat will fail and the water/rust propagates under the coating. Don't believe me..... ask any owner of a TVR about their powder coated chassis.

      It's powder not paint

    • @Aviopic
      @Aviopic 6 месяцев назад

      @@yorkshirecarrestoration I know but it doesn't matter, the difference in colour saturation is caused by the difference in ground layer. This is what you get when you apply a candy or any other transparent paint over black(the cross members) and aluminium colour(the calipers). Black for maximum saturation, white for maximum luminosity or a grey base layer for a more neutral result.

    • @AJB1
      @AJB1 6 месяцев назад

      @@Aviopic but in theory it's going over a primer powder coat, which would be the same colour for both. Totally agree with you if it was just candy or metallic over metal with no primer.
