I have a 2018 Touring. Had since new and have put 56,000 miles on in two years. Mostly back and forth between homes in FL and NJ. Plenty of power, runs at 75 all day long and averages between 32 and 35 mpg. Excellent comfort, ride, and carrying capacity. This is our fourth Honda over the years and they just keep improving. Have run them well over 200,000 miles with minimal issues.
I just bought CRV EXL 2020 left over. GREAT DEAL. Had a Acura MDX for 12 yrs. 3 kids sports all over east coast & 198,000 miles . Tires, brakes & oxygen sensor under warranty. NOTHING ELSE EVER. replaced amazing!
@@blackwhirlwind1245 Re-read my last two sentences....I have run my three Honda's over 200,000. My current one, as stated in the email, has about 56,000 miles or about 28,000 per year.
My 2017 EX-L sometimes gets up to 40 mph at between 60-65 mph. It is very impressive how Honda made the 1.5 liter turbo so powerful , efficient, smooth, and quiet. Upscale interior and handles like a breeze. Best all-around vehicle I’ve ever owned.
Powerful 1.5L ????. You need to read my other post further up. The 1.5L is gutless. I know this video was made in America but over here in Australia there are thousands of 2017 -2022 CR-V's for sale simply because of the low powered engine. You can not buy a 2nd hand 2014 - 2016 CR-V because everyone is going back to the earlier models with the far better and more powerful 2.4L engine. Honda's biggest mistake was putting the 1.5L engine into the CR-V
I have the 2020 touring and have 3 pet peeves 1) Road departure - The system can’t tell the difference between running off the road and an entrance ramp or road work. I had to turn mine off completely . 2) Engine idle stop. I live in South Carolina where it is near 100 degrees in the summer and I just can’t have my AC cutting off at every stop light. The off switch only leaves it off for the 1 trip. If you stop for gas, it defaults right back to on. 3) Collision mitigation - I had to put mine down on the lowest setting. On the plus side, I am averaging about 33mpg. Car is comfortable, roomy, smooth ride, and smooth drive. Overall a very good car.
@@shukthy On the infotainment screen, if you go to "settings and find 'vehicle settings'" I think it is the last one on the list so you may have to tab down to it.
I just bought a 2019 LX, it fits me being that I am 69, and retired, no problems so far,I have the 2.4 engine, its fast enough for this senior, lol have a blessed day
I’ve got an 05 plate Executive CRV. 15 years old but still has heated seats, cruise control, leather seats and with a quick change of the radio, you can have phone connectivity and satnav. Brilliant cars.
I love my 2019 Honda CRV EXL. This is my 3rd CRV and 12th Honda. I’ve learned to live with the current infotainment system and love the sound quality of the stereo. I plan to keep this one for awhile. The seats are so comfortable! The only thing that is really annoying is you have to turn on the lane keep assist every time you start the vehicle. I wish it would just stay on.
Great review guys. We bought a 2020 CR-V Sport up here in Canada last week and love it so far. We bought it because of 1) value 2) functionality 3) made in Ontario and 4) our two 65 lb dogs fit safely and comfortably in the cargo area behind the back seat! It's so deep their heads can barely be seen over the back seats.
I agree with most of what you say about the 2020 CRV . Got a EX-L 2 weeks ago and I love it EXCEPT that is the noisiest engine when first accelerating !!!!! Geesh!
Wow, you guys are totally on point with every likes and dislikes. My wife owns a 2019 CR-V and we love it. It’s extremely comfortable, has great passenger/cargo space and is quite efficient too. Top dislikes are the infotainment (Accord’s infotainment is better), the shifter and the 2-step climate zone control.
It's a tough call between the Accord and the CR-V. I do like the elevated driver position of the CR-V and the good sidewall cushion of my tires helping improve the ride comfort. The newest gen Accord looks amazing and its 2.0 liter engine with lots of horsepower and torque looks very powerful.
I bought a 2020 and we love it. As far as some of your dislikes: Econ or no Econ. The car definitely has more power with it off. I pulled a pretty good grade and the car never down shifted at 65mph. Small display, I like it integrated in the dash. the rav4’s is bigger but it sticks out like a drive-in movie screen. I had a problem with the shifter at first but got the hang of it. Fit and finish is top rate. btw ours is painted Aegean Blue.
If you press the button on the shifter to get out of park then let it go once you are out of park, it will only allow you to slide down to Drive and not onto Sport or Low. You have to keep the button pressed to get to S or L.
A little trick about shifting into drive. You have to initially hold the side button in to get it out of park but then let go of the side button and just pull the gear shift back and it should automatically stop at drive. If you continually hold the side button it will slide all the way to low.
that's a great tip for sure, but I kinda agree with the reviewer that if you have to know a "trick" to get something to behave as expected then it's not a great user experience. A completely ignorant, non car person should instinctively be able to do what they expect to do by default, and power users should be the ones to have to know tricks to get what they want out of a system
@@HansReichenbach25 I agree 100% with your entire comment! & also The original commenter needs more likes/attention because a lot of us consumers are shifting all the way through unintentionally. Not so user friendly since the quirk is a hidden gem. I believe the solution is the more modern “push button to select” shifter.
I’m 6’ 3”, 220 lb. male. I sat in the front passenger seat and adjusted to 4-6 inches clear in front of my knees, then got in the back and did the same-no problem, easy. More impressive, the overhead room seemed at least 4 inches. Lot of big guys in my family-awesome interior space! I’ve had a Honda 2016 Pilot four years and love it, smoooth solid ride and incredible gas milage for a V6. Thinking probably 2021 CRV for my smaller daughter-in-law and her big guy husband.
Nice review but: A. We are not in a great hurry so the infotainment systems works fine for us. B. If you read the manual, you will see how to select the gears. Hold the button only long enough to take it off park. You then can select Reverse, Neutral and Drive. If you want to select Sport or Low, you have to depress the button once more. Shown very clearly in the manual. Nit picky I know but accurate. Aside from those two issues, your review was quite good. One more thing. Yes, it's a bit slow, but what's the hurry??
One huge thing i LOVE about my 2020 CRV EX-L our area dealers give a life time warranty on the engine, transmission, front and rear differentials and ten year warranty on any interior damage and exterior door dents, dings, faded paint well the list goes on and on...the cvt transmission kinda scared me from buying this but knowing the warranty, One week later we love it!!!
I have a 2008 and still love it. The 2.4l is not slow but if you put your foot down it does like the petrol. My next car will probably be another cr-v. Great car.
5 Things what I like about the CRV: exterior design, comfortable seats, lot of cargo and passenger room, interior design, and decent sound system 5 Things what I don't like about the CRV: underpowered engine, oil dilution problem, placement of climate controls, outdated infotainment system, and the shifter
@@byzantineblue4818 People, FAR, FAR over do the complaining about the OIL dilution problem Was there there a problem, YES--- was it as BIG as people want you to believe---- NOT REMOTELY-- it was SO SMALL in comparison to the TOTAL number of CRV's sold!! I really don't know if HONDA offered to fix this problem, but, I DO KNOW--- there have BEEN -- ZERO oil dilution problems with my CRV and when I researched this issue, it seemed like the problem was ONLY a SPECIFIC group sold -- Honda KNOWS specific time frames that ALL their cars come off the line and it seemed like there was a time frame and those cars mostly were DELIVERED ( NOT SOLD) in to the state - of Washington- then were distributed to dealerships! THAT -- NUMBER was VERY SMALL-- in the LOW hundreds!
I'm surprised about any complains with the power. I have the 2017 and I think it's the same 1.5 Turbo and it has really good pull. Best pull out of the CX-5 and Rav4 I tried back then; and I like to drive assertively and quickly. I had no issue with the oil or climate controls. Infotainment is so-so agreed and my shifter button broke at one point so agreed there too. I also found out the mats and floor carpeting on the drivers side were very low quality and got a hole in both just a year into use. But overall I really like the car.
Just bought the 2020 CR-V EX-L. Found the Auto Idle System extremely annoying! Found the button and turned it off! Otherwise loving the car. This is my 6th Honda. Traded in my 2018 HR-V Sport Red with leather lease for this 2020 CR-V. Great ride and handling.
I put on some Michelin tires once I learned how good they are for the CR-V and now the comfort and handling are really exceptional. Way better than the OEM tires the Honda dealer gave me (Hankook).
We recently purchased the 2020 CR-V LX Fwd. Only 700 miles. The vehicle is slow(not for me)..because it weighs 4675 lbs.,pushed by a 1.5L turbo. The shifter is fine, but takes some getting use to. The computer system for climate, etc.,is slow and irritating having to go from one thing to another. I've pulled over a couple of times to change things, so as not to get in a wreck. Fit and finish is on par with much higher priced vehicles. Seating is very comfortable, and lots of room inside. Individual heater/ac controls on driver side and passenger side, with power seat on driver side as well. We paid $28,500.00 for ours, we're in Oklahoma. If you like to travel, by all means get the touring model...Great car for the money....
Hello! I upgraded my 2018 CR V Exl to 2020 Touring here in Canada, Up here you can get heated rear seats, panoramic moon roof and 5 bulb LED fog lights. It’s strange that in US you can’t get these features. I would agree that screen is a little small but I love the in built navigation and bigger wheels on 2020 Touring. I am happy with the upgrade as Honda’s are built to last and good resale value 👍👍 nice review overall I’ve been following you guys for few years now! Love from 🇨🇦 🍁
Short and sweet review. They spilled the tea & answered many of my incidental questions; I'll definitely pay attention to the shifter & sonic gray color when I go for the test drive.
Excellent job guys! Probably one of the most honest and non-biased CRV reviews I’ve seen in awhile. The CRV is definitely a great contender, but I agree, it’s really starting to fall behind in terms of features and technology. I actually crossed shopped the CRV with the new Hyundai Santa Fe, and I chose the fully loaded Santa Fe, because it was only around $2k more than the fully loaded CRV, and included all of the features that CRV was missing, PLUS some, plus it’s a whole class above the CRV. Couldn’t beat the value. And that’s the problem with Honda. Their value isn’t as good as it used to be, compared to their competitors who offer more features.
You two always give me the specific details I want to know! Kudos!!! I am still looking for a new vehicle and it is down to the CRV, RAV4 and the Forrester. This video was perfect. I may need to go up to the mid-size to get what I am looking for.
@@CytotoxicTrev Believe it or not, it was the Ford Edge. They made me the best deal including top price on a trade in. I really, really wanted the Toyota Highlander but there was no exceptions to the sticker price. I am loving the mid-size SUV. Somewhat regretting I didn’t go for the Forrester - here in Michigan where there is a lot of snow and ice it seems to be one of the more popular SUVs on the road but the Edge handles very well.
@@mitrishski1 Nice! Yeah, getting a good price is important, especially with the hit we take on depreciation. I had seen Consumer Reports rave about the Forester when I was in the market. And the Highlander looks wonderful too. Lots of good options in the SUV segment
I can see why, that color is amazing! I've seen the CRV and Civic in this color and I can't help but stare in awe. It's very similar to Toyota's gray on their Tacomas.
That was why I traded my 2014 CRV for a 2018 RDX; more comfort, more power, no CVT, no turbo, no info display. all buttons. The new CRV was designed as a cheap skate $25,000 gas saver. Don't expect more luxury options.
This newest generation CR-V is still pretty good and the EX-L and above trims feel pretty luxurious to me. Great call with the Acura RDX though, I may eventually get one when I stack some more dough. Lol
@@CytotoxicTrev I lasted 5 years with my 2012 honda crv exl and no problems at all, and now I bought a 2017 acura rdx with 32000 miles still under warranty and I am having problems. They updated the transmission software and changed the transmission fluid and I still got a sudden change from 1 to 2 when I turn it off and turn it on, it disappears. I still haven't been able to solve
I really love the CR-V but the 'CVT' the people complain about scares me...Hope it's a good n long lasting one since Honda is known for its reliable CVT
Perhaps try releasing the shift interlock button after it’s out of park. Most of the time it will lock into a default drive setting. Really pleased with fit and finish, and passenger comfort. Press car-awesome. Really heading toward the top of your game as automotive journalists. Take care and stay safe.
I do like the styling updates they've made. I've owned my CRV since 2017 and agree with most of your points. It is very unfortunate that they didn't replace the laggy head unit with the nice one from the Accord, but using car play or Andorid auto fixes most of that. It's not really slow against others with similar room and mpg rating. Turbo lag and the CVT does make it feel slow, yet it gets to 60mpg faster than most in it's class/price. That is a cool color. I chose a silver one for the exact reason that it hides dirt and scratches very well. Inevitably, every YT video about CRVs will have exaggerated oil dilution claims, but I and the vast majority of actual owners have had no issues.
Yea I’ve seen multiple reviewers talk about the CRV being slow. Not sure what they are talking about. I out ran my 2015 Civic by 2 car lengths from 0-60. Also rolling from 30-90.
I hope Honda is watching your video! I want to upgrade my civic to a CRV and I listen carefully to the pros & cons. I expect Honda to fix the Infographic display, else I will buy RAVA4 Prime 2021 instead. Thank you guys for such an educational video.
Just bought my Sonic Grey in May and coming from a 2017 Civic Turbo, I feel the slowness of the CR-V. Enjoying everything except: elbow rest slides back/forth too loosely; leather seats have tiny holes that allow spills through; slower acceleration.
The HOLES are so the leather and inside materials can BREATH! The SLOW -- is ONLY the start-- it IS due to the CVT transmission -- it is slower ONLY( YES --- ONLY) , there is a certain noise at the DEAD start( at a red light) that is a LITTLE slower, this IS DUE to the CVT-- type of transmission! Just KNOW the CVT transmission is different from your typical transmission( FROM TOTAL -- Red light type STARTS)! The acceleration of this this car when NORMAL driving(30mpg AND HIGHER) -- is just as good and JUST AS FAST as a regular transmission! I owned other regular transmission cars for YEARS and the beginning ACCELERATION of the CRV - has what mechanics call a "GROWL" so the sound is different than what you are used to --- ONLY at the beginning!!! I do own the new CRV-- my first CRV EVER-- my first CVT transmission --ever! This cars value for the money, space, ride, over all quality is TOTALLY superior to even many MID size SUV's! The technology conveniences are equal and better than ALL other cars in its class! the Fantastic gas mileage speaks for itself! Just know what you feel in the START of slow acceleration is NOT a BAD engineering flaw( it is the CVT), this car flies as fast as you want( but should NOT) when on the road!
Love our US 2020 CR-V EX-L AWD, but... The Auto Idle Stop is horrible [first thing we always turn off when starting]. The sliding center console lid slides too easily if your elbow pushes back on it. Steering wheel doesn't tilt down far enough. The Lane Keep Assist is nice, but the Adaptive Cruise Control brakes too sharply and slows too long when the car in front turns off - very jerky! No Nat Asp engine option, no gas struts for the hood lift and a really difficult-to-read oil dipstick plastic end [just leave it plain steel]. Way too quiet an auto-lock beep when walking away. Lots of nice features for the money - two driver auto seat adjustment and vehicle settings, auto headlights and windshield wiper, remote start, heated, comfortable front seats and heated mirrors, cavernous trunk, tons of legroom for all [I'm 6ft 2in and can sit behind my adjusted seat with lots of head and legroom], quiet interior, 32mpg in Econ mode, yet plenty of oomph in Sport mode.
not feeling the aluminum (or whatever) strip on the bumper at all. 1:15 biggest dislike for me is the location of the gear stick. It bugs me so so much but as someone who likes space and room, I may overlook it.
What engine do you have it equipped with? Because here in Denmark we can buy it with a 2.0 gasoline hybrid with 184hp. 0-60 in 9,5 seconds. I have not tried it, but it doesn’t sound that slow to me?
I have a 2017 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD and I have rear heated seats. I find the 1.5l turbo a little slow compare to my old 2011 crv ex 4x4 with the 2.4. I never turn on eco because it really slows the car. I was debating to buy a Touring or EX-L and I decided EX-L because it was cheaper and it had most of the features that a touring had. In Canada, the touring has a panoramic moon roof.
I did EX-L too. I decided I didn't need the dual chrome exhaust or that navigation package stuff. The daytime running lamps are LED anyway, the EX-L just lacks full LED headlights in the front. But I hear those would be more expensive to replace anyway for the Touring model. Lol
@@CytotoxicTrev my CRV EXL got stolen in November. It was never found so I got the insurance money and bought a 2017 Honda CRV touring. The touring is nicer than the EXL but they’re very similar. I love both of them
@@dennis_1488 That's terrible, I'm glad to hear you were able to get it replaced and even level up though! It is a low tech measure, but I tend to put a "club" lock on the steering wheel because I just don't trust the goons around where I live either. Someone stole all 4 wheels off mine last year - these cars are hot.
@@CytotoxicTrev My insurance company made me install the TAG tracking system in the vehicle. It costed me a one time fee of 250$ CAD and my insurance rate declined by 150$ CAD per year. I think it’s worth it especially since if the vehicle gets stolen again there is a 99% chance they will find it. I hope I can keep this CR-V for years to come! My dad works for Honda and he’s seen thieves that cut the steering wheel to remove the club. These thrives do almost anything to steel these cars. Like you said, they are very hot cars. Most of them get shipped in containers to other countries.
CRV would be a perfect vehicle if Honda put a 220 HP 4 cyl in there. the turbo was the only reason that I traded my 2014 CRV for a 2018 RDX. I tested drove the 2019 RDX and bought a 2018 because of the V6, not turbo.
You are absolutely spot on with my dislikes about my CR-V. The annoying shifter and the climate combine with the slow ass head unit is not pleasant experience to work with.
We had a 2017 Honda Civic Touring and a 2018 Honda CRV , both with the 1.5 turbo engines. Both had bad oil dilution problems, I would change the oil and 2,000 miles later it stunk of gasoline. Honda’s BS fix did nothing to correct the problem. We traded in both vehicles and got a Toyota and a Ford.
Honda treats their customers horribly and will deny anything. They're the only mfr that threatens people with a diagnostic fee to check on an in-warranty item. Honda's Extended Warranties are a waste of money. Oil Dilution, massive Head Unit Problem (inopperable). I changed a tire, the system christmas lighted again, Honda said when one issue comes up all lights engage. They still charged me $150 for a diagnostic fee. Did you get the "oh your stick shift and other parts might break" letter? I did. Traded my CRV early (and took a massive hit) upgraded to a Subaru Forester which is MILES above Honda in Customer service and Quality. (and partially owned by Toyota)
1.5 Litre Turbo, does it use premium gas? It will make a difference down the road. Also, what about the AWD option? Is it a full-time AWD or a dynamic AWD used by the RAV 4?
I have a 2013 CRV I bought in 2013 and the seats are VERY HARD; like sitting on a concrete block. A 4" piece of foam helps but it it torture on a long trip.
I've gotta ask what you mean by aggressive driving, because I am an aggressive driver and I don't get any where close to the rated mpg. I get about 20 to 23 mpg and can push that to maybe 25 if I super baby it and turn eco on. I have a 2020 crv base model which was rated 28 city and 32 hwy for a combined 30. I don't understand how anyone gets more. I have owned the car its whole life it now has about 50k miles on it and for the first 1500 miles I was gentle to break in the engine
As a retired 65 year old, who owns this exact vehicle ( same color as well ), but FWD, the screen size, and it's reaction time, is fine for me. I am not an aggressive, or fast driver, so, even driving with the econ feature, I get plenty of get up and go. I test drove the Toyota, Mazda, Ford, and a few other competitors, and found this to be the " best fit for me ". My gas mileage is better than yours, for sure.....I am a retired audio consultant ( spending peoples money on sound reproduction equipment, for satisfaction of their musical listening enjoyment at home ). Not every system ( speakers specifically ), are the same for everyone. Mind you, much of this equipment I speak about, will be many times the cost of these vehicles. Each person has a " taste " or a " preference " for what they like, many, different from my own. So giving a " bad " or a " negative ", is truly unfair, imo. The important job of a purchaser, would be to test drive a vehicle, comparing it to others, and maybe, test driving it, on two or three different occasions, before making a decision. We do not have the luxury of using a vehicle for a week at a time. Anyway, keep up the good work, and stay safe out there. Always, Dan
You should've shown the trunk, but you kind of lost me at the slow part. My wife wants me to get one, I want the Pilot. I have a 2009 Rav4 V6 right now and it's plenty fast. I like having some extra power. The Pilot has it. It gets crap mpgs, but until I can afford the Cybertruck with 3 engines or the new Teslas SUV or pickup when they come out, I'm not too worried.
I still prefer and love my 2016 CRV EX... it may be lacking of the other bells and whistles but it's face and back side view is still far more beautiful than those from the 2017 up to 2020 models.
The entertainment bluetooth system is terrible. I have the 2018 and the Bluetooth is unusable with my phone. I've looked on the web and found others with the same issue. Background noise after 10mph is horrific. I've had 4 Hondas and this will be my last unless they solve the problem for the 2022 model.
I felt the same about the slow acceleration in my 2020 crv exl. I bought the car with 12 miles. However after the i drove pass 500 miles mark i feel that acceleration has gotten way better and not sluggish at all. Currently have 1000 miles on the dash and i feel like the vehicle has been broken in.
It's crazy to me that you guys find the seats so comfortable. I just bought a 2020 CR-V and it's KILLING my back. I guess because we all have different body types, but I'm struggling right now. Have been trying different cushions, etc, to help. I have been scared I will have to trade if in if I can't resolve the problem, because it's a really big problem. Other than that I love it.
@ Steve GalloWAY I have a 2019 with the 1.5 L turbo and have had issues with oil dilution. Honda is still putting this engine in their vehicles so I wouldn’t recommend any of them. I don’t know anything about their 2020 hybrid but I would definitely stay away from the turbo.
Some of the negatives you mentioned are not a big deal for me, but that shifter is crap. “Am I in drive, am I in reverse.” I’ve been driving cars longer than you’ve been alive, but I am on the same page as you regarding the shifter. Anyway, it’s my wives car, and I don’t drive it that much. I do most of my commutes on a bike. More healthy.
Unfortunately, there are a few almost guaranteed failures with the 5th Gen CRV and some might even happen before hitting the 2 year ownership mark. You're lucky if so as the warranty is done at 3yr/36k. 1) A/C compressor (~$1700). 2) Battery ($100). 3) Body Control Module ($1200).
I totally agree with basicLly everything the drive shaft I dont like it very much i totally always miss drive and reverse. I do love the drive and cruise control etc its nice
I have a 2019 CR-V. I love everything about the car except for the awful UI on the display. Slow to startup, outdated graphics. This is a problem with Honda (we have owned nothing but Honda for the last 10yrs). They need to up their game. Problem is, other than TSLA, every car infotainment UI I've seen is terrible.
@@Jaya.M78 I have had no issues with it. From what I've read, Honda and Toyota have the good one. Nissan and others have had issues with the brand they use.
Oh no, the “pink” car is back 😉 Although I’ve only test driven the CRV, I agree with everything you’ve said. Honda could easily introduce an Elite Model, as they already offer a Panoramic Roof in the Canadian market. Adding Ventilation to the front and heated to the rear seating area would be easy enough. Honda could easily sell a CRV in the upper $30k range.
Well good to hear the seats are comfortable...how are they during long road trips though? I love love my 2010 Civic LX-S but the seats during a long drive hurt my back. I had to buy a lumbar support pillow for road trips.
I have a 2018 CRV and I don't know what I love more - being the driver or the passenger! Lol Both are very comfortable on long rides. Definitely one of the best purchases I have ever made.
Not sure if this is related we have a 2019 CRV. The USB connections in the lower console are positioned in a way that it is difficult to attach the wire. I find more times than not actually opening the arm and sometimes actually getting right in there to plug the cable in. Not a huge deal but annoying if already driving and your phone needs to charge or if the Android Auto app in my case either disconnects or didn't connect right when starting. The other thing is a lack of power. It could be because of the style of shifting it does because you never really feel it is not getting up to speed but it feels like it is one gear too low for its progress. In other words yes it gets to speed but feels like it is in the wrong gear as it goes. If it was a standard I would downshift and let the engine rev up a bit more to feel like you are in its sweet spot before shifting.
I was wondering if you have any advice on how you got such good mileage. I bought a 2021 ex and I am averaging 21 over about 200 miles and it's brand new. Forgot to mention that I am granny driving until full break-in
I had this generation, complete with entertainment system that would go crazy for hours "beep beep beep" the brightness control went wacky, and while navigating the entire unit turned off. Electric Christmas tree, oil dilution, blown Turbo in less than 20k, the only thing Honda would admit to was a defective stick shift that could go off in your hands. This is the reason why Honda is down to #7 and Subaru is #1 with Consumer reports. Never again.
How do you change setting on that collision mitigation? I’ve just bought lx. Does lx have the option to change the settings
@@shukthy On the infotainment screen, if you go to "settings and find 'vehicle settings'" I think it is the last one on the list so you may have to tab down to it.
I just bought a 2019 LX, it fits me being that I am 69, and retired, no problems so far,I have the 2.4 engine, its fast enough for this senior, lol have a blessed day
I'm 68 and agree with you. I was going to buy one...UNTIL they went to that 1.5 T engine, and the CVT. So many complaints about both
Great call! That version should be extra reliable.
Im hesitating on the exl or touring would you have prefered the touring? And i also hear the exl is a bit bigger than the touring?
Great review guys. We bought a 2020 CR-V Sport up here in Canada last week and love it so far. We bought it because of 1) value 2) functionality 3) made in Ontario and 4) our two 65 lb dogs fit safely and comfortably in the cargo area behind the back seat! It's so deep their heads can barely be seen over the back seats.
Congrats on your new CR-V!
Don't listen to anybody. Its the best mid size SUV in its class. Bought a brand new in 2019 EXL. Love it. Super happy.
I don’t no my crv touring 2019 oil dilution
Fit and finish is top rate. btw ours is painted Aegean Blue.
tell me how to turn off the cargo lights please
Car Confections: Honda needs to make an elite version of the CRV in the 40 thousand price point
Acura: Hold my RDX
xD
If you press the button on the shifter to get out of park then let it go once you are out of park, it will only allow you to slide down to Drive and not onto Sport or Low. You have to keep the button pressed to get to S or L.
Picking up a 2022 for my wife tomorrow. Thank you for this tip! I will let her know this right away lol.
I drive a '12. More than enough power, practical for my needs, comfortable on long drives. I plan on keeping it for a long time.
New once’s have turbo I got 2018 and I feel it under powered especially when getting on highway and when have to merge with other lanes.
kalp78 I out ran my 2015 Civic by two car lengths with my 2020 CRV. Not sure what everybody is talking about there.
A little trick about shifting into drive. You have to initially hold the side button in to get it out of park but then let go of the side button and just pull the gear shift back and it should automatically stop at drive. If you continually hold the side button it will slide all the way to low.
I knew he was holding it funny, thanks. I’m waiting for mine and I was wondering if you could just pull it
that's a great tip for sure, but I kinda agree with the reviewer that if you have to know a "trick" to get something to behave as expected then it's not a great user experience.

Just got the 2022 for ma lady
Coming from someone who drives an 04 Honda CRV, with two kids, driving this car will be godsend!
Great car.
5 Things what I like about the CRV: exterior design, comfortable seats, lot of cargo and passenger room, interior design, and decent sound system
5 Things what I don't like about the CRV: underpowered engine, oil dilution problem, placement of climate controls, outdated infotainment system, and the shifter
Hello Alvin.
Whats the problem with oil dilution? How does the affect the car?
Regards
@@byzantineblue4818
People, FAR, FAR over do the complaining about the OIL dilution problem
Was there there a problem, YES--- was it as BIG as people want you to believe---- NOT REMOTELY-- it was SO SMALL in comparison to the TOTAL number of CRV's sold!!
Sean Naughton You are pretty lucky for not having dilution problem
Sean Naughton The reason why I said it was underpowered because it should have more power with a turbocharger than the RAV4 and the Mazda.
Like this different approach. Thank you for these insights, positive and negative. Love the clarity.
Honda should put the 2L turbo in this car
Love from 🇨🇦 🍁
I wish Honda would install the 2.0 turbo (Accord engine) in the top two trim levels of the CR-V.
my 2011 exl has the accoed engine
They reserve the more powerful engine for the Acura RDX. Lol
I get 34.3 mpg with my 2021. I love it
Short and sweet review. They spilled the tea & answered many of my incidental questions; I'll definitely pay attention to the shifter & sonic gray color when I go for the test drive.
I have a 2019 CRV Hybrid and it is fantastic. 0 to 60 in just over 8 seconds and I get about 43/46 mpg (worked out properly).

I alwayssss watch your vids, bro.... Great job... keep up the good work.
lots of love from Jamaica in the Caribbean.
Thank you 😊!
You two always give me the specific details I want to know! Kudos!!! I am still looking for a new vehicle and it is down to the CRV, RAV4 and the Forrester. This video was perfect. I may need to go up to the mid-size to get what I am looking for.
Glad to hear it! We have several comparison videos on the channel you might find helpful. Good luck with your decision 👍
Which one did you wind up getting?
It's the exact infotainment system that is in all Hondas since 2016 or 17 and it hasn't changed.
I love my 2020 Honda exactly same color sonic grey lots of people love it i’m enjoying every ride
I can see why, that color is amazing! I've seen the CRV and Civic in this color and I can't help but stare in awe. It's very similar to Toyota's gray on their Tacomas.
In Canada with the EXL and touring model you get the rear heated seats. The Touring model in Canada comes with the panoramic sun roof..
Moon roof. I’m getting the black edition soon
I got 2018 CRV touring in Canada and I got rear heated seats. Nice review.
Also rolling from 30-90.
just got my 2021 EX in that sonic grey - love it - no issues 👍
Great job guys!! The CRV is a nice vehicle. Almost bought one last October but I went with the cheaper Hyundai Tucson.
I have this car and rides like a dream.
I hope Honda is watching your video! I want to upgrade my civic to a CRV and I listen carefully to the pros & cons. I expect Honda to fix the Infographic display, else I will buy RAVA4 Prime 2021 instead. Thank you guys for such an educational video.
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching!
Just bought my Sonic Grey in May and coming from a 2017 Civic Turbo, I feel the slowness of the CR-V. Enjoying everything except: elbow rest slides back/forth too loosely; leather seats have tiny holes that allow spills through; slower acceleration.
Yeah I just noticed those holes in my leather ! It just started bugging me . No eating or drinking except water in my 2020
The HOLES are so the leather and inside materials can BREATH!
My 2020 sport CRV is actually pretty quick, turbo with 195 HP. And I still get amazing MPG.
I just bought my third CR-V. 2015-2018-2021.
More of these "Top 5 Likes and Dislikes" videos please.
Especially the new Sonata, Highlander and others. Please more of these.
The sound system in my 2020 CRV-EXL is terrible. Sound like only the front speakers are working and no bass?
@@TechGently I'll never buy a Honda again.
How do you turn off all the headlights if your car is idling?? Is there a way? I have a 2019 CR-V EX
1.5 Litre Turbo, does it use premium gas? It will make a difference down the road. Also, what about the AWD option? Is it a full-time AWD or a dynamic AWD used by the RAV 4?
Looks much better than the competitor Toyota Rav4. Im still concerned about the oil dilution problem with the Turbo 1.5 ltr engines.
Yeah...no mention of it
I have a 2013 CRV I bought in 2013 and the seats are VERY HARD; like sitting on a concrete block.
Always, Dan
Thanks Dan! We appreciate the perspective of an owner!

my 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan shifter has "Drive" at the very bottom which I LOVE
Does it still have oil dilution issue in the engine and freezing cold in the winter low heat?

You should've shown the trunk, but you kind of lost me at the slow part. My wife wants me to get one, I want the Pilot. I have a 2009 Rav4 V6 right now and it's plenty fast. I like having some extra power. The Pilot has it. It gets crap mpgs, but until I can afford the Cybertruck with 3 engines or the new Teslas SUV or pickup when they come out, I'm not too worried.
Excellent review.
I still prefer and love my 2016 CRV EX... it may be lacking of the other bells and whistles but it's face and back side view is still far more beautiful than those from the 2017 up to 2020 models.
Uh. No.
Not hardly miss kitty.
How is the cabin noise? I’ve heard from someone that it’s not great.
Not a fan of CRV but I enjoyed the review & somehow busted my home quarantine boredom
That's what we're here for! Gotta help everyone forget about the quarantine as least temporarly 👍
Great video nice to know your thoughts
It's crazy to me that you guys find the seats so comfortable. I just bought a 2020 CR-V and it's KILLING my back. I guess because we all have different body types, but I'm struggling right now. Have been trying different cushions, etc, to help. I have been scared I will have to trade if in if I can't resolve the problem, because it's a really big problem. Other than that I love it.
Like to hear from folks if the 2020 have the same gas in oil problems ?
3) Body Control Module ($1200).
road noise was not bothersome?
It's pretty much the same as the competition
@@CarConfections ok, thanks for reply

I have a 2019 CR-V. I love everything about the car except for the awful UI on the display. Slow to startup, outdated graphics. This is a problem with Honda (we have owned nothing but Honda for the last 10yrs). They need to up their game. Problem is, other than TSLA, every car infotainment UI I've seen is terrible.
How is the Honda CVT in your opinion....in the long run?
@@Jaya.M78 I have had no issues with it. From what I've read, Honda and Toyota have the good one. Nissan and others have had issues with the brand they use.
@@exxekhan Oh okay thank u for replying :)
Oh no, the “pink” car is back 😉
Although I’ve only test driven the CRV, I agree with everything you’ve said. Honda could easily introduce an Elite Model, as they already offer a Panoramic Roof in the Canadian market. Adding Ventilation to the front and heated to the rear seating area would be easy enough. Honda could easily sell a CRV in the upper $30k range.
I really like interior but I don’t like exterior and also cvt issues oil. I changed Honda to Toyota done!
Well good to hear the seats are comfortable...how are they during long road trips though? I love love my 2010 Civic LX-S but the seats during a long drive hurt my back. I had to buy a lumbar support pillow for road trips.
Long trips in this car seem like trips to the store. Extremely comfortable in every way.
Forgot to mention that I am granny driving until full break-in
As it breaks in and the weather warms up, it'll get increasing better mileage
I had this generation, complete with entertainment system that would go crazy for hours "beep beep beep" the brightness control went wacky, and while navigating the entire unit turned off. Electric Christmas tree, oil dilution, blown Turbo in less than 20k, the only thing Honda would admit to was a defective stick shift that could go off in your hands. This is the reason why Honda is down to #7 and Subaru is #1 with Consumer reports. Never again.
How about the paper thin non insulated doors and the generally NOISY cabin?
I really like this car but is this a good car to buy for a first time driver?
Has anyone have problems with the 2020 battery. My battery keeps dying and the dealership tells me everything is ok. I am hating this. Please help
Same I like the Kia Sportage for the features and the INFOTAINMENT is so much easier too use.
no ventilated seats no deal.
Hey I am thinking of getting CRV. Are they easy to maintain. Is the parts expensive?
very cheap parts, great car for long term
