The issue isn't forgiveness itself, it's the writers insinuating that "forgiveness = staying/taking them back" and that's not true. Forgiveness is a form of healing(and takes time, depending on how deep the wound is[psychologically/emotionally]), you're forgiving that person for you, not for them. You can tell when a person has truly forgiven someone bc they’re at peace... they don't murmur & complain, slander or get upset at the thought of that person or by hearing their name and they don't bring up what happened in the past(out of spite). It's like you become unbothered, but in a good way... you're no longer dwelling on the past and you're at peace with yourself(emotionally, mentally & spiritually). It's a great feeling and that's what these writers need to be promoting, instead of having the FL go back to the one who abused them bc they forgave them. Then the whole "knife of forgiveness" mess... Yes, she can be grateful/thankful to them for saving her life or someone close to her, but that doesn't mean she should go back to him bc she’s “obligated” to and bc she feels like she "owes" him. Another issue is the FLs don't give themselves enough time and space away from the ML once they leave them, they never fully separate/detach themselves and still manages to get involved in their affairs(like pretending to be together for their grandparents). They're still in contact with the ML/never deletes his contact info, they even still live in close proximity to him and most of all... they still harbor feelings for him(despite leaving, taking revenge and claiming they don't love him). That's one of the ultimate reasons why they always go back and this FL is a great example. Once she starts hesitating, second guessing herself or starts reminiscing about the past when the ML was good to her... she's most likely going back(even the kids can see it). She should've bought that plane ticket in the beginning and left his narcissistic butt, "..I knew you can't bear to leave me," that's just another form of control & manipulation. Rebirth is a waste if they go back to their ex and his family especially since they all abused her daughter, that child should be taken from her seeing as she cannot keep her child away from its abusers. This is a disturbing drama. FL is beautiful, but this is the most useless rebirth story ever. Not only was she abused but her child too for over seven years (and killed!!!), the guy who was supposed to be a father did not care at all for the kid's existence if she was dead or alive, he would even be happy if she were dead. Mother-in-law abuses and IS AWARE the other girl is trying to kill her own granddaughter and agrees with all that. ML is disgusting, he raped her then ignored and mistreated her. He never recognized his daughter except when he wanted FL then magically he becomes a father, what a joke. If you are that curious jump to the end the story is not worth it. In the end, I felt like Fl was the one proving herself worthy of him, not the other way around like oh she saved me in the past now I can allow her to be by my side even though I ignored people trying to kill her and her daughter (not his, that can't be, he was just a sperm donor I refuse to believe that is a father).
This guy never bothered to look into what happened between him and the FL twice. Once when she saved his life and a second time when he was dr*gged and ended up going to HER room (and then pretty much assaulting her, resulting in their daughter). The best part is when she literally shows him the deposits she was getting every month was like 300 dollars and the SFL walks in with a random reciept and is like 'oh yeah this is the proof of money she spends.' If the actors would just boycott these sick dramas and refuse to be part of normalizing domestic violence, bullying, adultery, and torture, maybe the Chinese film industry would enter the 21st century and respect human rights.

I have nearly punched my iPad on several occasions before reminding myself that this fiction and written probably by men with SERIOUS inadequacy issues , low pay and working for the needs the of a domestic audience where domestic violence may be more acceptable ( not saying that Chinese people condone this type of violence) . I think aswell that there are time and budget constraints so maybe they can’t include the type of retribution we would,like to see . Some of the dramas do now have endings where the FL walk away so I think the film- makers have taken on board the sensibilities of the international audience. This evil woman decides to drug him to get him to sleep with her, but like an idiot, she leaves him alone so that he enters the wrong room and ends up, sleeping with the female lead. She gets pregnant, he marries her, although never treats their marriage With any sort of respect. he then ignores, neglect, and disrespects her and his own daughter for five years. Then, when his wife suddenly starts standing up for herself, he suddenly out of the blue decides that he loves her and needs to control her and needs to sleep with her. there was never a part of the story where it explained when he supposedly fell in love with her. Also, There is ZERO explanation for why the female lead would have ever fallen in love with HIm. After she saved his life years ago he never recognized it as her so she wouldn’t have had a chance to get to know him. Then, he gets drugged and breaks into her hotel room and sleeps with her (doubtful of any consent there), he marries her (in a small ceremony without family or friends, and no public announcement), he keeps their marriage a secret for years, ignores his wife and his daughter for years, allows them to be bullied by his mother for years, denies it when his wife says his mother was abusing her. He doesn’t really even deserve the title of uncle.

The issue isn't forgiveness itself, it's the writers insinuating that "forgiveness = staying/taking them back" and that's not true. Forgiveness is a form of healing(and takes time, depending on how deep the wound is[psychologically/emotionally]), you're forgiving that person for you, not for them. You can tell when a person has truly forgiven someone bc they’re at peace... they don't murmur & complain, slander or get upset at the thought of that person or by hearing their name and they don't bring up what happened in the past(out of spite). It's like you become unbothered, but in a good way... you're no longer dwelling on the past and you're at peace with yourself(emotionally, mentally & spiritually). It's a great feeling and that's what these writers need to be promoting, instead of having the FL go back to the one who abused them bc they forgave them. Then the whole "knife of forgiveness" mess... Yes, she can be grateful/thankful to them for saving her life or someone close to her, but that doesn't mean she should go back to him bc she’s “obligated” to and bc she feels like she "owes" him.
Another issue is the FLs don't give themselves enough time and space away from the ML once they leave them, they never fully separate/detach themselves and still manages to get involved in their affairs(like pretending to be together for their grandparents). They're still in contact with the ML/never deletes his contact info, they even still live in close proximity to him and most of all... they still harbor feelings for him(despite leaving, taking revenge and claiming they don't love him). That's one of the ultimate reasons why they always go back and this FL is a great example. Once she starts hesitating, second guessing herself or starts reminiscing about the past when the ML was good to her... she's most likely going back(even the kids can see it). She should've bought that plane ticket in the beginning and left his narcissistic butt, "..I knew you can't bear to leave me," that's just another form of control & manipulation. He's basically saying "you'll never leave me, no matter what bc I’m ALWAYS in your heart" (as if it’s impossible for one to fall out of love)😮💨🤦♀

This is a disturbing drama. FL is beautiful, but this is the most useless rebirth story ever. Not only was she abused but her child too for over seven years (and killed!!!), the guy who was supposed to be a father did not care at all for the kid's existence if she was dead or alive, he would even be happy if she were dead. Mother-in-law abuses and IS AWARE the other girl is trying to kill her own granddaughter and agrees with all that. ML is disgusting, he raped her then ignored and mistreated her. He never recognized his daughter except when he wanted FL then magically he becomes a father, what a joke. If you are that curious jump to the end the story is not worth it. In the end, I felt like Fl was the one proving herself worthy of him, not the other way around like oh she saved me in the past now I can allow her to be by my side even though I ignored people trying to kill her and her daughter (not his, that can't be, he was just a sperm donor I refuse to believe that is a father).

The best part is when she literally shows him the deposits she was getting every month was like 300 dollars and the SFL walks in with a random reciept and is like 'oh yeah this is the proof of money she spends.' Doesn't even LOOK at these receipts but just...stands there confused. His own daughter tells him the SFL attempted to kill her and he was legit about to marry her the next day. This kind of unbelievable violence toward women and children is common in Chinese dramas. It represents the Chinese culture as being backward, sexist, and brutal. If the actors would just boycott these sick dramas and refuse to be part of normalizing domestic violence, bullying, adultery, and torture, maybe the Chinese film industry would enter the 21st century and respect human rights.
I know exactly how you feel . I have nearly punched my iPad on several occasions before reminding myself that this fiction and written probably by men with SERIOUS inadequacy issues , low pay and working for the needs the of a domestic audience where domestic violence may be more acceptable ( not saying that Chinese people condone this type of violence) . I think aswell that there are time and budget constraints so maybe they can’t include the type of retribution we would,like to see . Some of the dramas do now have endings where the FL walk away so I think the film- makers have taken on board the sensibilities of the international audience. From my understanding, the ML didn't believe her when she told him about the abuse.
She watched her child get hit, pinched, called names etc.etc. right in front of her (see the flasbacks), even when she was present at the abuse, she did nothing: worst mother ever! We spend a whole drama knowing that he has neglected his daughter *for years*, doesn’t notice when she is being abused, and then 1:23:47 he asks if she misses daddy? 😂😂😂 she has barely interacted with him. Why would she miss him?
The story summary is:
Rich man is drunk and vomiting on the side of the road, almost gets hit by a car, and is saved by a mysterious woman (the female lead, but he mistakenly thinks it’s her sister). he spends five years preparing to marry her sister (because apparently her saving him that one time is the basis for marriage?). This evil woman decides to drug him to get him to sleep with her, but like an idiot, she leaves him alone so that he enters the wrong room and ends up, sleeping with the female lead. She gets pregnant, he marries her, although never treats their marriage With any sort of respect. he then ignores, neglect, and disrespects her and his own daughter for five years. Then, when his wife suddenly starts standing up for herself, he suddenly out of the blue decides that he loves her and needs to control her and needs to sleep with her. there was never a part of the story where it explained when he supposedly fell in love with her.
Also, There is ZERO explanation for why the female lead would have ever fallen in love with HIm. After she saved his life years ago he never recognized it as her so she wouldn’t have had a chance to get to know him. Then, he gets drugged and breaks into her hotel room and sleeps with her (doubtful of any consent there), he marries her (in a small ceremony without family or friends, and no public announcement), he keeps their marriage a secret for years, ignores his wife and his daughter for years, allows them to be bullied by his mother for years, denies it when his wife says his mother was abusing her. But suddenly we are supposed to believe she loves him?! Why?
Meanwhile his mother, who honestly acts like an evil psychopath, has been working to harm both the female lead and her own biological granddaughter.
Where exactly is the love in this story. I think the writers completely forgot!

It's a wonder that poor child isn't traumatized by all of the violence perpetrated on her and her mother, as well as that all around her.
She clearly IS traumatized and delusional. No other explanation for why at the end she suddenly wants to get her mother back together with the man who neglected and emotionally abused them for years. A man who allowed his mother to abuse them and who excused her trying to kill his daughter. I have no other explanation for this sudden change at the end other than the little girl having serious trauma and mental health issues.

The male lead should she has to work much harder and for a long time, groveling for forgiveness, atoning for his unforgivable neglect and verbal/emotional abuse, demonstrating actual remorse, before getting even a chance to be back in their lives.
Instead we get this ridiculous, unearned and undeserved “forgiveness” and a false “happy ending”. Lazy writing.

The ending just made me want to puke...the FL obviously has mental health issues...the ML and his mother abused the crap out of her and the daughter, he divorced her for another woman and was just about to marry her..and only at the wedding venue did the truth come out....if that hadn't happened he would have gone ahead and married the evil schemer...,,ML is a spinless momma's boy.....and yet this airhead of a FL takes him back ? Why couldn't the writers let her get on that plane with her daughter and start a new life....I'm sure she would have found someone else..she is young and attractive...the ending is rubbish........

FL was more active than other dramas but ending ruined it. And the child should have more concern rather than some happy family concept. Is she stupid enough to let FL forgive the ML for the sins he committed and FL can only forgive for her child. Too much goodness... No need for happy ending. Rather ML should miss FL at last and FL should restart a new life and live happily ever after. If child wants father, FL should leave her with ML and pursue her own happiness
