I cannot decide whether it was ego or his own strange inferiority complex to do so or both. He didn't allow his wife to attend parties but attended with other woman on his side. Mocking his wife in the night club and not bothering to visit after accident. Such a husband deserved to be dumped.

I never get tired of watching this drama. The FL is something else! The actress is so cute and she can be serious or make you laugh. The ML is to be pitied. lol He's a great actor of these dramas. Get these 2 together and be ready for a great story.
Why should we pity the male lead? He was intentionally vicious to the female lead and emotionally abused her. And worse-he continues to be the same arrogant controlling man throughout the entire drama and never once apologizes or shows that he has changed! There is no growth or character arc from him.
The ML is really not that bad; the FL is an unreliable narrator! She gets selective amnesia and only has rumors to base quick judgments off of (which we learn over time are not that accurate). It doesn't help that the SML purposefully perpetuates her misunderstandings because he wants her for himself. The audience is slowly yet steadily shown that there's more depth to the lead's relationship than at first appears. She really did force the ML into marriage even though it was publicly believed that he was in love with someone else at that time. Over their three years together, the ML has grown fond of her despite his bitterness at her manipulating him; he may scoff on the surface at her displays of devotion, yet he's come to look forward to them. I'm not saying it's a healthy dynamic, but I can see things from both of their points of view. Chen Si's acting as the ML is fantastic and showed a wide range. His comedic timing (and facial expressions) was spot on the whole show, yet his emotions still had depth to them, so it was easy to take his character seriously while still chuckling intermittently! The ending was unfortunately very rushed, but some of the biggest misunderstandings/misconceptions were cleared, so now they can move forward together.

I love both ML & FL !! This is such a cute drama .. I love their chemistry! The ML never cheated on her . He just pretending to be a play boy .. he made a deal with her step sister to pretend to be with him.. love to see more of them! Sorry, but regardless of whether he was technically cheating, he intentionally led the FL (and everyone else) to believe that he was a cheating playboy breaking her heart and subjecting her to the ridicule of society. There was no good reason to mock her-just pure disrespect. He didn’t love her or respect her or value her at all to degrade her (and didn’t have the basic decency to tell her that he made a “deal with the step sister” and why. Not that this was a good reason anyway). Glad to see less violence than most. But as usual it is the female lead who is made to suffer horribly and still expected to forgive and take back the man responsible for it all.

Im not used to this actor being in such Rom-Com character so i skipped a lot but i tried to what what u could.. Honestly im not a big fan of the girl she irritates me unless she plays innocent soft serious type role.. This character she played annoyed and irritated me..
The ML and his Assistant are wonderful and their comedic routines fantastic. The FL and SML are also great. I've watched this drama as well as others following similar script and this one is my absolute favorite.
I know there have been some negative comments about how these types of men control women, but in actual fact this particular drama has so much humour in it that it drives the whole storyline in another direction,... It's really funny in parts, and I love the ML and FL actors, the ML has really good comic timing, and he and his assistant bring so much comedy as well as serious acting to this drama,... yep this one is definitely fun...
Agree! I would've disliked this drama if it was serious, but it was a hilarious spoof on the arrogant CEO plot. FL didn't give ML a moment of peace, constantly swatting down his runaway ego and baffling him by following her own agenda when he wanted her to follow his. I kept waiting for the drama to go downhill when she got her memory back and started doting on him again, but she had realized her own worth and wasn't going to take any more s***. It made me laugh repeatedly. I'm amazed by how Yu Long owns his roles, both comic and serious, with seeming effortlessness. And I was laughing when she refused to dote on him and act like a doormat (at least until she took him back) I think l people are just tired of the story where it’s the female lead who suffers all of the hardship and trauma (physical and mental) while the male lead’s arrogance, narcissism, and intentionally harming her is brushed off like it’s funny. Or a “boys will be boys” attitude. The fact that she is expected to ignore that he *intentionally* let her and everyone else believe he was cheating on her *in order to hurt her* and the assumption that she should get back into a relationship with him where she is going to have to do all of the emotional work and he has zero responsibility and has never apologized or proven he has changed is a bit sad after how funny the middle part was. Yeah… it’s hard to find the ending funny without that real core of actual growth from the male lead… he could and should have done more to prove he understood that he was wrong and was not going to be that same man any more.
AWWWWW, come on all the neg comments so glad I didn't follow them - I loved the movie the two Leads had so much going for them, they are really great together, and I loved the way they interacted, also the ML's assistant was so funny trying to keep boosting up his boss's ego. All in all a really fun movie !!!!!!

No doubt he and the SFL slept together (she was about to say it before he cut her off with her name) and he wants to act as if it’s all her fault for going after the FL which she does have responsibility there however, it’s his; made a deal with her, helped her out, continued feeding her because of his “image” which is bull cause he liked her, chose her, enjoyed her etc. and now since his Wife wants a divorce he’s going to act as if it’s not the case. Right! He liked her focus on him, liked being worshiped by her, but treated her cold. It would’ve been a tiny bit different if he actually showed that he genuinely cared for her at home but he didn’t, cold in public and out of it. I enjoy the actor who portrays the ML work, the actress who portrays the FL can be a hit or miss when it comes to being the lead but when playing a villain she does really well. I’ve seen other version(s) of this, each one different, and though I enjoyed the ML here this version is the least out of others however, it’s still a okay watch if you want to kill some time.
Right... A lot of people disagree with the ending, but I think it works for 2 reasons. First love is illogical and expecting it to be so doesn't make sense. You don't love the person because they're nice to you; you're nice to the person because you love them. Real love is not about grabbing the loved one regardless of their feelings, which the FL eventually understood. Her problem was thinking the ML loved her because he'd been emotionally supportive of her. By the time she develops amnesia, she's more mature emotionally and can understand why a divorce is a good idea. She doesn't stop loving him, but she realizes that you can't MAKE somebody love you. The other reason why I support the ending is that the ML is truly an idiot emotionally, and the FL understands that at the end. I think at the beginning he was infatuated with the 2FL and only felt empathetic towards the FL. The thing is, the FL is actually a better match for him emotionally, and I believe he would have been very bored and unhappy with the 2FL. But because he's such a dunce, he doesn't understand why he's so attracted to his wife once his injured ego heals. This is why he keeps doing things to make her feel bad; if he doesn't, he would have to admit he really likes her and is actually in love with her. Definitely his assistant understands his feeling better than he himself does. He really gives the impression of the little boy who pulls the girl's hair on the playground then can't figure out why she doesn't want to be around him 😂😂😂. But there's also the closet inferiority complex that's hiding behind that bombastic and arrogant facade. His wife CAN'T leave him because then he has to accept that he's not loveable enough. Additionally, if his wife stops loving him, it means he loses control of his life the way he did when his parents died. Emotionally he's closed himself off from everyone except his grandma and at the end his wife and child. So I believe he's genuinely committed to his wife. However, she's going to have to do a lot of work to get him to open up about his feelings. I'm sorry they didn't give us an epilogue with the couple and family, say 2 years later, so we can see their relationship mature and get to hear him admit his love and admiration for her, along with his gratitude for her staying with him.
This is the comment I was waiting for. I’m 45 minutes in and I’m not convinced he slept with anyone else but his wife. He might have embarrassed her by hanging out with other women and he might have been in love with her step/half sister or was it all just a facade to protect his emotions?

I've seen this several times and I think it's very, very funny. It comes across very cest la vie type of the FL which is hysterical..her friend is absolutely adorable ❤. The ML is a dolt to an extent, but plays the character admirably. In the end after several misunderstandings, things of course work out but in a hilarious, roundabout way. 😊 I think one of my favorite scenes is when the FL slaps the SFL, then the ML and he's in disbelief ... "she slapped me!" will never get old 😂. This is a reborn/comedy/satirical drama which is very very good. Poo on the negative comments, in the end this is NOT REALITY people get a grip 😏

This was hilarious. I didn't like the ML acting like he was involved with the stepsister because what else would tge FL think except he loved the evil wench. I loved him telling FL not to exert herself by hitting others cause she's still weak, when he thought she was preggers. I loved when ML waited by the phone for FL to call after they sent the vid clip that he wasn't that other heffa's baby daddy. I love after they slept together and she tried to leave and he pulled the covers off and was like look at the marks you left and my waist hurts. And at the party when her crazy step daddy was yelling for her to apologize to ML. ML and his assistant, as well as ML and FL, were comedy gold in this series.

What I like about this drama is that there are no people rudely insulting the female lead. Many short dramas have them which is very annoying and represents Chinese as rude. There was no explanation why the husband never visited her in the hospital after the car crash. He did not even care that she was not in the house in the days she was in the hospital. The third anniversary was supposed to be a surprise but was not mentioned again till the end. Otherwise it is a nice drama where it is the male lead turns to grovel with the female lead. Some funny moments especially with the Assistant. Ending too fast maybe lack of budget already. Not bad for a short drama. I recommend this.

He was mad at her for forcing him into the marriage. He thinks she's manipulating him by pretending to have an accident. The girl drinking was to punish the wife for making him feel powerless. And he didn't fall suddenly... He'd been falling in love with her for a while, but was too stupid to realize or admit it. This is not the strongest plot out there, but it can be a fun watch if the lead CP are good actors.

Although this drama has damn funny moments. Who doesn’t want to listen in to the thoughts of a male narcissist (oh, wait, we seen millions of films like that). In fact this film is rather sad. I loved that the FL couldn’t remember her life with the ML. That is wanted a divorce (rightfully) and him chasing her was rather fun. But finally the memories came back. And those memories were depressing, hurtful and terrible. While he stopped chasing her and lost his insights how he hurtled her and started blaming her for everything again. He doesn’t care that she’s successful, he doesn’t care about her well-being, he doesn’t care about their past, her now or her future. So he “loves” her, but what exactly? That she was his dog? Something he couldn’t get away from? And I don’t believe he spend all those years drinking and bad mouthing his wife to his friends. Or is this what you do at the club; surrounded by hussies nagging about your married life with the wife like cowards? He is a cheater in more than one sense. And his assistant covering for him and sticking peacock 🦚 feathers in his butt. Sigh. This ending is sad. With all she remembered and seen her faults in their past and how disgusted he was with her, she only falls back in her addiction and obsession with him. Are we sure her brain 🧠 isn’t busted.

I think l people are just tired of the story where it’s the female lead who suffers all of the hardship and trauma (physical and mental) while the male lead’s arrogance, narcissism, and intentionally harming her is brushed off like it’s funny. Or a “boys will be boys” attitude.
The fact that she is expected to ignore that he *intentionally* let her and everyone else believe he was cheating on her *in order to hurt her* and the assumption that she should get back into a relationship with him where she is going to have to do all of the emotional work and he has zero responsibility and has never apologized or proven he has changed is a bit sad after how funny the middle part was.
Yeah… it’s hard to find the ending funny without that real core of actual growth from the male lead… he could and should have done more to prove he understood that he was wrong and was not going to be that same man any more.
AWWWWW, come on all the neg comments so glad I didn't follow them - I loved the movie the two Leads had so much going for them, they are really great together, and I loved the way they interacted, also the ML's assistant was so funny trying to keep boosting up his boss's ego. All in all a really fun movie !!!!!!

Right!
He liked her focus on him, liked being worshiped by her, but treated her cold.
It would’ve been a tiny bit different if he actually showed that he genuinely cared for her at home but he didn’t, cold in public and out of it.
I enjoy the actor who portrays the ML work, the actress who portrays the FL can be a hit or miss when it comes to being the lead but when playing a villain she does really well.
I’ve seen other version(s) of this, each one different, and though I enjoyed the ML here this version is the least out of others however, it’s still a okay watch if you want to kill some time.

Right... A lot of people disagree with the ending, but I think it works for 2 reasons.
First love is illogical and expecting it to be so doesn't make sense. You don't love the person because they're nice to you; you're nice to the person because you love them. Real love is not about grabbing the loved one regardless of their feelings, which the FL eventually understood. Her problem was thinking the ML loved her because he'd been emotionally supportive of her. By the time she develops amnesia, she's more mature emotionally and can understand why a divorce is a good idea. She doesn't stop loving him, but she realizes that you can't MAKE somebody love you.
The other reason why I support the ending is that the ML is truly an idiot emotionally, and the FL understands that at the end. I think at the beginning he was infatuated with the 2FL and only felt empathetic towards the FL. The thing is, the FL is actually a better match for him emotionally, and I believe he would have been very bored and unhappy with the 2FL. But because he's such a dunce, he doesn't understand why he's so attracted to his wife once his injured ego heals. This is why he keeps doing things to make her feel bad; if he doesn't, he would have to admit he really likes her and is actually in love with her. Definitely his assistant understands his feeling better than he himself does. He really gives the impression of the little boy who pulls the girl's hair on the playground then can't figure out why she doesn't want to be around him 😂😂😂.
But there's also the closet inferiority complex that's hiding behind that bombastic and arrogant facade. His wife CAN'T leave him because then he has to accept that he's not loveable enough. Additionally, if his wife stops loving him, it means he loses control of his life the way he did when his parents died. Emotionally he's closed himself off from everyone except his grandma and at the end his wife and child. So I believe he's genuinely committed to his wife. However, she's going to have to do a lot of work to get him to open up about his feelings.
I'm sorry they didn't give us an epilogue with the couple and family, say 2 years later, so we can see their relationship mature and get to hear him admit his love and admiration for her, along with his gratitude for her staying with him.

This is the comment I was waiting for. I’m 45 minutes in and I’m not convinced he slept with anyone else but his wife. He might have embarrassed her by hanging out with other women and he might have been in love with her step/half sister or was it all just a facade to protect his emotions?
@@juneharrigan4911 I don't think he slept with any of these women. At the beginning of their marriage he was heroically committed to the FLs sister. Then, as his feelings changed, he fixated on the FL. I get the impression that his only interest in those women was in seeing his wife's reaction.

I've seen this several times and I think it's very, very funny. It comes across very cest la vie type of the FL which is hysterical..her friend is absolutely adorable ❤. The ML is a dolt to an extent, but plays the character admirably. In the end after several misunderstandings, things of course work out but in a hilarious, roundabout way. 😊 I think one of my favorite scenes is when the FL slaps the SFL, then the ML and he's in disbelief ... "she slapped me!" will never get old 😂. This is a reborn/comedy/satirical drama which is very very good. Poo on the negative comments, in the end this is NOT REALITY people get a grip 😏

This was hilarious. I didn't like the ML acting like he was involved with the stepsister because what else would tge FL think except he loved the evil wench. I loved him telling FL not to exert herself by hitting others cause she's still weak, when he thought she was preggers. I loved when ML waited by the phone for FL to call after they sent the vid clip that he wasn't that other heffa's baby daddy. I love after they slept together and she tried to leave and he pulled the covers off and was like look at the marks you left and my waist hurts. And at the party when her crazy step daddy was yelling for her to apologize to ML. ML and his assistant, as well as ML and FL, were comedy gold in this series.

The fact that he went out of his way to publicly humiliate her and emotionally abuse her says all you need to know about what kind of a man he is. He’s a terrible husband and a piece of crap human.
What I like about this drama is that there are no people rudely insulting the female lead. Many short dramas have them which is very annoying and represents Chinese as rude.
There was no explanation why the husband never visited her in the hospital after the car crash. He did not even care that she was not in the house in the days she was in the hospital.
The third anniversary was supposed to be a surprise but was not mentioned again till the end.
Otherwise it is a nice drama where it is the male lead turns to grovel with the female lead. Some funny moments especially with the Assistant. Ending too fast maybe lack of budget already. Not bad for a short drama. I recommend this.

There are other versions of same drama and the ML’s are done in the same way - a reserved male lead. Could be this is how the part was written.
He was mad at her for forcing him into the marriage. He thinks she's manipulating him by pretending to have an accident. The girl drinking was to punish the wife for making him feel powerless. And he didn't fall suddenly... He'd been falling in love with her for a while, but was too stupid to realize or admit it.
This is not the strongest plot out there, but it can be a fun watch if the lead CP are good actors.

Although this drama has damn funny moments. Who doesn’t want to listen in to the thoughts of a male narcissist (oh, wait, we seen millions of films like that). In fact this film is rather sad. I loved that the FL couldn’t remember her life with the ML. That is wanted a divorce (rightfully) and him chasing her was rather fun. But finally the memories came back. And those memories were depressing, hurtful and terrible.
While he stopped chasing her and lost his insights how he hurtled her and started blaming her for everything again.
He doesn’t care that she’s successful, he doesn’t care about her well-being, he doesn’t care about their past, her now or her future. So he “loves” her, but what exactly? That she was his dog? Something he couldn’t get away from? And I don’t believe he spend all those years drinking and bad mouthing his wife to his friends. Or is this what you do at the club; surrounded by hussies nagging about your married life with the wife like cowards? He is a cheater in more than one sense. And his assistant covering for him and sticking peacock 🦚 feathers in his butt.
Sigh. This ending is sad. With all she remembered and seen her faults in their past and how disgusted he was with her, she only falls back in her addiction and obsession with him.
