Yeah, some cool new things coming in. I love what they did with Karmel mall. One of the few spots with that much ground level street facing retail in a new building that size
Started on E. Lake Street and 5th Ave. South intersection. Have not even driven down that way since the big incident that occurred. Thank for showing off all the new construction that has happen afterwards.
Yeah, in hindsight I wish I would have recorded the area at a time closer to the riots but at the time I started doing this I didnt want to exploit the fear around the area. It would have been nice to compare now though
Depressing place. My only highlight from that area was meeting Fancy Ray when he was buying cigarettes at the Cub Foods. I wonder what happened to the Target store next door that was burned down?
Fancy Ray! What a legend. This is the other end of lake street. The target that was burned is over on east lake and Minnehaha across the street from the old third precinct station. It was rebuilt within months and has been serving the neighborhood again for the past few years. Unless you are thinking of the uptown cub that had the small target near it? That small target closed a year or so ago due to slow sales I think
@walkingminnesota haha yeah. He looked like he just strolled in in his wife beater. I'm thinking he lives in the area. The east Lake St Target across the street from the Arby's and 3rd precinct. I'm sure the area is completely different from what I remember 15 years ago.
Idk about that. Thats part of the reason I record these, so people can see the big picture as things actually are on a given day. I have no agenda outside of sharing raw and unedited footage.
Loved this walk, cool to see all the development going on. Minneapolis changes so fast.

The Riot
Some of the best and unique food options in the city
I agree!
I love Lake street
Me too! It’s such a cool place
Good looking city
52:40. Those precious birdies !
Highly recommend Pineda Tacos that you walked by around 2 minute mark. I love that place.
Absolutely love pineda! I’ve never had a bad item on their menu. They have a green sauce that is among the best in the city
Good burritos and chimichangas. Robert Street has a nicer one. Same food and service but the building and atmosphere is much better.
The far north is where I like to be
Cold but great

It's not that bad. I go there all the time.
What happened to White Castle? Guess i've been gone for a minute! Kfc! yum yum
I think it closed within the last year. I feel like the kfc opened within the last couple months
