The larger beans you describe are known as butter beans in the UK. The smaller white ones are canellini beans but you could also use borlotti beans which have a slightly reddish tinge to them. BTW, I love this dish. Hearty, filling & delicious
This brings back memories of our childhood camping days. My mom would make a big pot of smoked ham & bean soup. This has a different twist to see tomato sauce and tomato paste, but still sounds very delicious with that smoked bacon and sausage. You always make things look delicious!
"Bush's Best Baked Beans" and "Schweigert" brand hot dogs... "beanie weanies"!! Yum!! A tasty treat from America's heartland!! 😊😊😊 Sounds delicious!! Take care!!!
Friday nights are (almost) always sausage and beans, often with sauerkraut added as well. I don't usually add tomato product unless the only sausage I have on hand is hot Italian, then I will add a jar of canned tomatoes. I like having one day a week where you don't have to think about what's for dinner. and it's so fast to put together.
If that's not perfect camping food ,I don't know what is . All the forest animals would be lined up with bowls . Another great recipe Anna! If I cooked that when I used to go hunting, none of my hunting partners would want to leave the cabin. You are right about smells... a certain smell and you back home in your parent's kitchen. Thank-you ,Mike
For every picnic, my Aunt makes Cowboy beans, which are basically these with hamburger and several kinds of beans. and she makes enough for everybody to take home
In Poland, this dish is called baked beans (Brittany is part of France). It's interesting that they don't know this dish in Brittany! A very good dish! Tasty!
@@PolishYourKitchen your welcome. Love seeing parts of other countries. I and my husband were both military lived over in Japan and England and Germany and Italy. I love traveling and although we both are retired from the military once covid restrictions are not in place we will travel
I miss your “Kitchen is closed” episodes. Will you be doing more? We’re the large white beans Lima beans? My Mother often made baked beans with them using dried beans.
So glad I found your channel and I will check out your website also. This looks very tasty will be making it this week. Keep them coming. Some nice pierogi 🥟 would go great with this
Anna, looks so delicious! But, you need a weight check, you used at LEAST one pound of bacon & also sausage. Don't get me wrong,,, I would use the same,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LOL
Thanks for great recipe, but... Sorry. Name " po bretońsku" (nie po brytonsku) has nothing to do with Great Britain and baked beans. This name comes from French province Bretagne.
One pot meals are life savers! No more Friday Kitchen Closed? I’m missing traveling through your eyes.
Coming soon!
Thank you for this. My middle son is incredibly difficult to get to eat and he will eat seconds of this everytime.
Good recipe. Thanks!
You 2 are the best. I love the simplicity of these kind of one pot meals. Hope you’re doing well!
Thanks so much! 😊

Interesting because in our home FRIDAYS were always the "FISH" days, during LENTand ADVENT of course but outside those "church required" times also.
Thanks for sharing this, it's great. I'm going to give it a try on my Dutch Oven over a campfire.
This would be perfect for a camp fire. Thanks for watching!

Nie ma jak fasolka po bretońsku. Pozdrawiam amerykańska Polonię od angielskiej ;)
My twist is a shot of molasses instead of sugar. Molasses is a taste I grew up on.
It adds another depth of flavor. All for it . Good idea.
Beans on toast on its own is a really
Common evening meal (tea) in England, oz and New Zealand. I have poached eggs on it for extra protein

I order the Camellia Large Lima Beans from Amazon. They are indeed pricey but worth it, I think. They are delicious.
There are more Kitchen's Closed episodes on the way I promise. Thanks for watching!
Looks delicious 😋
Looks like it would be great with lentils!
Great idea!

Thank you so much for the kind words. Welcome to the channel and thanks for watching!
I think it's more French Cassoulette inspired..
Named for Bretogne not Brittain 😉
Brittany is in north west France
I would translate this dish as beans in the Breton style
I'm gonna try this, use up the last of my covid dry beans. Great idea and simple.
That's a great idea for sure!
Very good , keep it up.
Ok thank you
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤safe travels🌷🌷
great northern, navy beans are smaller
