Woe, thats a sweet give away
I'll be going to NZ in March for a Red Stag hunt. A guy can dream! Love this channel!
i guess it's pretty randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Maddux Sam lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
again i'd like to say how much i appreciate the notes at the bottom left. fantastic stuff
Good to see you boys coming here to NZ to do a proper hunt DIY. Hard graft but rewarding. In NewZealand we say "Do the mahi get the treat's".
Best hunting videos on RUclips. Kick ass for sure..
My respect to you guys. good to see some Americans do the hard yards like us Kiwi's. I live on the West Coast and still am blown away at how stunning New Zealand is.
great content with you and lampers. hope you do more video content together. great combination, thanks
Epic adventure guys, good shooting on that second bull.!!!
Poor Luke looked so miserable! Can’t wait for next weeks episode!
The amount of respect I have for you fellas completing this hunt. Just wow 👌 "epic" does not begin to due it justice.
G’day Gents, Tahr hunting is certainly challenging in that harsh environment. It’s funny how us hunters can sometimes put ourselves in some precarious situations and still love the experience. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.👍
Freaking narly terrain! Looks like a blast, thank you so much for the video, way to keep it Gritty!
👍👍
Looks pretty extreme guys. Good job. Be safe.
Great videos lads. Looks like an awesome trip. You must have been sure of the weather, taking that tarp tent up there. 👍
Awesome work being patient and glassing while under the shelter, the dedication is inspiring and clearly shows it pays off. Definitely something people can learn from! Great job gentlemen!
You guys are awesome... outdoor channel and sportsman Chanel got nothing to compare
Nice double guys!!! Dangerous conditions!!!
I’ve found myself watching films like this instead of “normal “ outdoors shows. This is great. You should gather all the old footage and continue filming new stuff and release a weekly show. Thank for the quality entertainment!!
We’re going to try and produce consistent video content from now on-maybe not weekly all the time but bi-weekly at least. Thanks Mathew! Appreciate the feedback 🙌🏼
It is amazing that tent with such thin walls and no floor in snow kept you warm even with a stove? Still shaking my head at the steepness of the hunt. Keep up the good work!
I am loving this series. The gear tips are very helpful. Go get em!
Crazy landscape......Gritty indeed. Tough enough to hike and hunt in it. I can't imagine what it must be like to film it all. Thanks for creating and sharing an awesome hunt video. Good on ya guys. Cheers!
That Tahr hunting on those high bluffs looks menacing and awesome all rolled into one
Hey fellas. Coming from a brother who dont hunt hasn't hunted before. Your dialog makes me want ro take one of y'all journey one day. Watching much gritty videos recently must make us friends now. Lol great hunt boys.
Great series guys!
Thanks Jeff!
Thx for all this incredible content. You guys are true outdoorsman!!
Outstanding!!! You guys rock. Keep the video's coming. The best hunting team and show on RUclips. I also can't wait to buy some more gear that you highlighted on the show. Thanks.
If this hunt doesn't define what gritty is I'm not sure what would! Great job guys!!
Appreciate that Casey!
Awesome guys
Damn dude that second bull you guys shot was awesome footage, tracked that bullets shockwave. Rewinded 4 times, nice shootin u two
Sick intro.
Ive been there. saw bulls in that spot, maybe those very same animals . yip, its sketchy. awesome vids guys
Awsome video again guys! I am subscribed to the news letter so that I can hear about new films as soon as they come out.
Love this series! So well made... great wort guys!
@11:51 Brian Call, "Don't say that". Sounds like the kid from the breakfast club. I'm ☠️
Another great film Brian! Gritty for sure!
You guys know how to get it done , what some bulls and love seeing your videos.
Super awesome hunt!!! Looked very challenging and rewarding
The vapor trail visible on camera on its way to the tahr so sweet!!
Man alive you guys are unbelievable sometimes congratulations on Two nice Bulls I bet a man does get respect for tar and where they live climbing those mountains with just small spikes amazing place what a view top-of-the-world baby that's absolutely correct
you guys are crazy! lol, also what did the danger sign on the shack wall say? my guess would be something like, "everystep could be your last, happy hunt"
Beginner here, have you guys ever considered taking some rock climbing classes and learn how to rope up to each other for sketchy climbs like that. Set anchors etc. Definitely adds more gear and weight but it seems worth it
I love the film shot of the thar on the peak standing on the rock.
mountains don't kill ya... the landing does..lol
Great video gentlemen!! I am new to hunting and I love watching your adventures. I am building my gear and appreciate all your reviews. I just got my Crispi boots thanks to your bear hunt videos. Be safe and I look forward to more videos.
y'all guys up there in,,heaven
Brian that is insane! Hiking up that long wet grass with snow all over it. I bet that was super sketchy.
Wicked hunt guys. A little hairy on that mountain side but all is well that ends well👌🏽
Another killer piece of content. Love the longer format vs the typical 20 minutes hunting video.
First off I enjoyed it second I was glad to see you get behind the rifle and take one. I was like I know your the gritty bowman but dang your allowed to shoot firearms too man .😆
Need to transplant some of those onto Mt. Hood so Brian can hunt them in his back yard.
(22 minutes in)
Thee old "The camera moved" ploy :) lol :) Come on guys be honest..... ya missed didn't ya? :) it's ok to miss..... I missed a stag once and ended up pollaxeing the White stag, standing behind it!!!!! THAT I wasn't meant to shoot :) lol :(
But again guys another awesome video, well done, Tahr are an unreal animal to hunt in NZ (SO fast when they decide to leg it). When..... WHEN you come back please take / bring crampons, rope and ice axe! as there is many an under prepared dead man still in those there hills (I'll bloodly send ya mine if I have too).
Ha ha! LOL! If I missed I could just edit that out and show you the hit. Nah, these are the problems of being the cameraman and the shooter. Luke wasn’t with us and Ryan doesn’t have any real experience with these fancy cameras we use. If you go back and watch my stuff-I show the misses. Misses happen! It’s real hunting. I wish we had the footage of this though-because that tahr free falls about 100 feet off a cliff. It was a sight to see! But you’re right to tease us about it-if it doesn’t get captured on film you gotta ask yourself, “did it really happen?” It’s a valid question... but the truth is I smoked that bull. 🔥👊🏼😄
Shaun Bliss - Thanks fur watching Shaun! We really appreciate it. And next time, WE ARE BRINGING CRAMPONS for sure! 💯%
Awesome few episodes! I love hunting in the mountains of NZ!!
Are you willing to say where you are? or the huts you stayed in?
Why is a male tahr actually a "bull" and not a "billy" as for other goat species? Or a "ram" like for sheep?
I asked the same thing! Nearest I could determine, it’s because kiwis don’t always make sense. 🤘🏼😜
Great video series, way to go! Also, why were you unimpressed with the bag in bear camp? I've been thinking about picking one up for archery elk season here in MT. Last thing, I typed in your MTNOPS code and it didn't reduce the price...am I doing something wrong? Thanks again!
Hey Clayton! Thanks for watching. The SG bag felt a little too snug during bear season-but the temps were a lot hotter then. The Chilkoot is actually pretty roomy and in those cold, nasty temps in NZ it was the perfect bag. The MTN OPS code changes from week to week. Right now, the code is set to give you free shipping but that’ll change next week-we’ll announce coupon updates on the podcast. But you can always put the code in to see what’ll happen. Sometimes it’ll get you some free extras! Thanks again Clayton!
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast Thanks man and again great job!
I've been running a Mystery ranch metcalf and I am happy with it. What do you think of the Stone Glacier? Also I love this video series!!
I honestly love my Stone Glacier pack-I’m not paid by any backpack company. At first, I choose to use Stone because I love the people who work their and what they stand for. The folks at SG are passionate outdoor people with integrity. But after testing the pack on our spring bear hunt, I can definitively say it’s the most comfortable carrying pack I’ve used. The belt design is perfect for me. There are other packs that I really like too-but the SG is the most comfortable (with both heavy and light loads). Lampers loves the SG but he’s also in love with the EXO. I haven’t used the EXO enough to say anything about it. But I’m looking forward to testing the EXO on a future hunt.
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast Thank you for the feed back.
that 200gr pill is a big hitter
Sketchy, then it got dark and got super sketchy.
Why don’t you just call this series “kinda sketchy” or “super sketch”?
Would like to actually see or experience just how steap those faces were.
I’m curious, does anyone know what type of oakleys Brian uses?
so is your hunting permit good for one animal or multiple?
There are no hunting permits required in New Zealand in this area at this time. You can shoot as many animals as you want-the Himalayan Tahr are an invasive species that government actively targets for removal, sometimes using poison and other times shooting from a helicopter.
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast sounds like I need to make a trip!!! How much hassle was it to get your guns there?
Sometimes you need a kill shot, but not on a hunt like this. Nice work guys.
Balls of steam. Yall are stone cold lol
💪🏽🇺🇸
Nice what tent is that?
That clearish white tipi one? Seekoutside cimmaron ultralight $850 😬😳
From City To Wild - I know! The price is steep. But the Silex the Seek Silex is a great option too-super lightweight and about $200
Would you rate it, if the weather had turned in NZ?
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast oh cool! That's definitely an option to look at. I like the company luxe. Been looking at their tents.
tigerknome95 - I’ve got a podcast dropping tomorrow about this shelter. We talk about how much wind and snow it can take. It’s never going to replace a free-standing shelter like a 4-season Hilleberg. But I’d rather be able to burn wood, carry less weight and have a spacious setup. This tipi can withstand some harsh weather though. If a crazy storm hit we would’ve setup the tipi in the tree line, out of the wind or we would’ve found a hut.
In real men ! Now that's the all American spirit. Trapper ass. I'm b blow n away
no kifaru?
Not on this hunt. I like my Stone Glacier 6900 better than my Kufaru for a hunt like this. I also prefer the Seek Outside Cimarron for my tipi-when Kifaru has a shelter as light as the SO Cimarron I’ll be stoked to use it. I also prefer the SG Chilkoot sleeping bag to my Kifaru bag-it’s lighter weight and warmer. But I’d prefer my Kifaru sleeping bag for an apocalypse or if the zombies come... but for now, the Chilkoot does the job better at half the weight for the hunts I’m on.
holy adds batman...
Cory, that’s gear information-not ads. I’m not sponsored or paid for half that stuff. We get hammered with questions about the stuff we use-I hate email. We decided to put the info in the show. It’s a wild misconception to believe those are ads-I wish I had a way to make an income off all that stuff; unfortunately, I don’t. This is an informational show-I aim to help people understand how we hunt and what we use.
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast I like the and appreciate the bubbles. I had 7 or 8 add breaks throughout the video, felt like I was watching the outdoor channel.
Cory Komadsa - Oh, okay-that makes more sense. I HATE that crap! I don’t know if I have any control over that. I’ll check the settings and see what I can do. Thanks for the info!!!
@@GrittyGearAndPodcast Pretty sure it comes from monetizing your videos. 1 or 2 would be normal and happy to have you get paid. When they interrupt every 3 to 5 minutes it gets old quick. It was my guess as to why you had so few thumbs up on such an awesome video.
Love this series. Even further down under than Aus.
do I spy Jamison
Ha not ours. It was sitting in the hut already. Some one planned on celebrating 😆
