You know, your channel is the one of the most informative (esp since we are along with you for the ride as a fighter rather than an instructor) channels when it comes to muay thai. But this series will be a huge highlight just for how fun they are, cheers, and looking forward to more in the future.
Very informative in general striking/clinching too, Muay Thai isn't my main martial art (althought I love learning it) but I still find a lot of really interesting things here : )
Sylvie... I heard Chatchai was in the worst condition of his last game with alcoholism. he drank a few to many M-150 before his last fight. Is it true?
Sweet baby jesus those elbows are as slick as they are devestating. These older fights are from a generation or 2 previous to when I started to watch. Karuhat is a total beast absolutely ruthless but so is that dude chatchai
Hi Sylvie, thanks for the wonderful and insightful videos, and your commentary. I have a question i think someone as immersed in Muay Thai fighting may be able to help me with. Can you explain the names and nicknames given to Thai fighters?
Hi. I'm not informed enough to answer definitively, but I can just tell you want I've picked up. Gym owners give first names to their fighters, sometimes chosen to be lucky or prosperous (using Thai numerology, etc.), or sometimes just because they sound appealing. The last name of a fighter is usually the name of the gym that holds the contract on the fighter, or it could be a sponsor who has paid to have that position in the name. In more informal fight circumstances they can just reflect the trainer of the fighter or the gym they respresent. The nicknames are, I presume, usually given by the Thai press.

R.I.P Chatchai Paiseetong aka Samart 2...
Yes. One of my trainers, Pi Mutt at WKO, said that Chatchai died literally in his arms. Rest in Peace.
