My daughter, ROBYN MARIE COOPER, was born on September 4, 1976 - The Saturday that this song became #1 - so I've always considered this "her" song!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY BEAUTY - and THANK YOU FOREVER to The Fabulous BEE GEES!!!!
"You Should Be Dancing" is a song by the Bee Gees, from the album Children of the World, released in 1976. It hit No. 1 for one week on the American Billboard Hot 100, No. 1 for seven weeks on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart, and in July the same year, reached No. 5 on the UK Singles Chart. The song also peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Soul chart. It was this song that first launched the Bee Gees into disco. It was also the only track from the group to top the dance chart.
Rolling Stone magazine dubbed it the greatest disco song of all time, and why not ? It is a classic. With guest musicians of Stephen Stills, Joe Lala, who has played with Streisand, Warwick, Walsh, Fogelberg and Stephen Stills, and George "Chocolate" Perry who has played with CSNY, Cougar, and many others, not to mention the Brothers Gibb themselves, it's hard to beat.
this is by far a unique recording of the classic bee gees record, and by far their best, and a joy to listen to. thanks to the person for sharing this amazing 12 inch version with us
massimo bertolissio, you are one of my heroes, for making magic like this available for us to listen to and DANCE to! thank you SO much!! #BeeGeesFanForLife :-)
Wow! I've waited decades to hear an extended version like this! The break is so cool! And you don't compromise the integrity of the original. I hope Barry can hear this. Thanks for sharing!👏👏😉
Wow! Congratulations on a fine piece of work. Barry 's singing sounds very clear and there are momemts you can get additional -how could I call it - 'singing ' that goes undetected in the original . Super!
You definitely had to have obtained the original 24-track master session tape in order to fully remix this song, no doubt! How in the world did you get access to this 2" tape spool??? There is no way that one could have "separated" tracks using any digital software of today with such preciseness. I have heard many oddball remixes over the years, but yours was superior to them all; fully superior!!! BCRadio
BolsaChicaRadio i really thank you i hope to have made a good job ....Just with a bit of experience and the music in your soul just with this you can obtain good music mixed ... long life to bee gees songs!!
massimo bertolissio Yes sir, but HOW did you receive the master tracks to perform your magic? I am not looking for your secrets, but you are very lucky to have access to these tracks to mix. Do you know Barry Gibb or their producers at the time Albhy Galuten & Karl Richardson?
BolsaChicaRadio I have been a member of BEE GEES FAN CLUB IN SURREY (LONDON) for many years ( 1980-1987) they gave to me some special original records as stuff for my collection..then with my experience of DJ i created this mix ... check also STAYIN ALIVE UNRELEASED VERSION ruclips.net/video/-ysJE_pIG1U/видео.html TRAGEDY EXTENDED MIX ruclips.net/video/i6if6Yk7TQg/видео.html AND JIVE TALKING ruclips.net/video/P7rL4kpNgEI/видео.html created by me i hope you enjoy best rergards
BolsaChicaRadioo. What are these? i cant believe and impressed. I dont think they are mixed by a DJ.As you said they are from the Master tapes and from the original studios back in 1977. What i found and is plausible is that the BeeGees where working on an album and needed Stayin Alive Night Fever etc extended to fill up the LP. Then Stigwood came in and used the songs in the movie Saturday Night Fever and so they made normal versions for the LP and Movie (which included other artist in the LP) My big question is it seems that were lost and found recently? how and when. or where released in LP ? You have further info please?
marco sciberras Tell me more about those special FAN CLUB ORIGINAL RECORDS that were given to you by being a member from 1980-1987. Are these the instrumental tracks that are featured in your mixes? I really wish I can buy these original records. I did hear about them being made available to Fan Club members, but unfortunately, I was never a member.
This might be the best extended edition version
This is by far the absolute best mix of this classic dance gem! BRAVO!!!
