Haha I’m actually 12 and I’m 5,6 at some point I hated people telling me that I’m tall. Now I accepted it and I love it. Although I did accept my tallness, I still lack confidence so it’s really special for me when I receive compliments.

I measured my height just about 2 hours ago because I’m now so in love with being tall and as a 23 year old woman I’m a little over 5 6”. I am 5 ft 9 1/4 in and I love being tall - it makes me feel powerful and you just have to accept yourself the way you are. No one ever says when they grow up they want to be short. My mom was 5 ft 6 inches and my father was 5 ft 11 inches - neither one was considered short so that's what happened. And what is very strange is that they were carrying short genes and my sister was extremely tiny with blond straight hair and both of my parents had dark brown curly hair which I have also. I felt sorry for my sister because she just didn't seem to grow at all and she is still very tiny.

Younger generation Asians look very similar to White Americans and Europeans in height these days. Seeing Asian American men 6'0" plus and Asian American women 5'7" plus here in the USA seems maybe slightly less on average then with European Americans. I can see the Senior citizen aged Asians saying that 5'8", 5'9" for Asian women being very tall, especially with southeast Asian women because it seems like a majority of senior citizen aged southeast Asian women are 5'0" and under. But with the younger generation of Asians in the USA that I see, especially with the east Asians like with Korea American women 5'8", 5'9" is a standard normal tall for these Asian women in my experience. Plus many Asians get this stereotype that white people are usually tall. I am a 5'7" white, European American man and while this is short for white American men it is a normal standard short height. Plenty of European American men are 5'7" or shorter and plenty of European American women are 5'3" or shorter as well.
I'm 5'8 my bf always makes jokes about me being shorter and 5'3 he did call me a giraffe when he found out my height hehe it does make me very insecure he makes me wish I was good enough for him since he always wanted a shorter gf to seem more manly and dominant. The media representation thing is SO TRUE. We seriously do need more representation in the media of tall people (specifically tall women FOR SURE) because I feel like we're usually stereotyped to be sports players or models and I wish people would just realize we can be other things too.

Maybe bc its a cosmopolitan city but no one bats an eyelid and im mostly observing the women particularly older ones. Also these days there are plenty of girls from North China who are tall, similar height or taller. They are leggy and carry themselves really well so i dont feel like i stick out. Most of the time, i get attention from men regardless of my height offering to open a door or even help me with carrying things LOL....apparently i am told i have a look which makes me look like i may need help.😄 I love my height. Confidence is everything.😊 ...shoe size is a problem though.
@@allygong ur moderately tall, the only thing you can hate about ur height is ur own preseption of it. try being 6ft 4+ it is way harder because rides at amusement parks are to small, door ways are to small, air planes seats are to small. also you don't have anyone to really relate to, 10% of women can relate to 5ft6 to 5ft10 but only 0.08% can relate to 6ft 4+

I feel like most of these women think being 5'8, which is four inches above the average height here in the United States for a women, is not tall. But if you're a man and your two inches below the average height for a male in the United States, which is 5'9 you are considered to be a dwarf. I think these women have a distorted perspective of reality where every man's average height is 6'4
if you met her in real life sure she would be tall but if everyone was around 5ft 4 poeples tops of their heads would go to the middle of her nose, and if she sat down there would barely be a diffrence. 5ft 8 is tall but it is modratly tall and you don't stand out to much.
From the top of my head I personally know ten Italian ladies taller than 5'9" (1.75 m). By average Italians are not the tallest people, but there are 60 million of them, so you can find enough women there to assemble a national team for volley ball, basket ball or any sports where height is an advantage.

Well to let you know that I got measured about a week and a half ago and I took my shoes off left my socks on and got measured with my short hair cut and I got an accurate measurement so I am still 5'8" at 43 years old.

I 5'8" not that tall right? However, I have a long back and broad shoulders! I can laugh now but when I worked shorter women always ducked like I was going to hit them! In school girls took height for someone who can kick ass, so they would ask me to get their stolen things back! I just told them to tell the girls to give the things back and they did! LOL! I am very fragile and sweet I could never hurt anyone and school friends who knew me actually protected me! The funny thing is they were shorther than me!
My wife Susie is 5/10, leggy and slim, what makes her seem even taller. While 5/10 is not what I'd call unreasonably tall for a woman like 6/3 would be, she still gets the flack about how tall are you, being a model, how's the weather, and do you play basketball., or volleyball, and you're a waste of talent if you don't. The worst insult she ever got, was from a girl about 5 who innocently asked her if she had a tumor. 5’8 really isn’t tall, I was going to give u the benefit of the doubt that u were just tall for your area - but you live in LA?? Maybe America is different to the uk but 5’8 is very very normal here, average height for most young adult girls. As a 5'8.5" guy, it's somewhat eye opening to read some of these comments. While this video and comment section isn't intended for audiences of my liking, I'll share my experiences as an shorter guy. I've always had a somewhat muscular frame and been viewed as allegedly "cute" and "handsome" ; even amongst taller women. Yet I stil have pretty major height insecurities lol.

As a shorter white guy I would definitely look up at you if we met on the road and for the next few seconds I would be like "OMG that asian girl is taller than me!" in my mind, that would be stronger than me and I don't think it's any kind of "bad" thought actually, but, yeah, I admit I would do that

@@tegamingother I'm italian from the south, so having latin blood in me it's likely that I lean more towards a latin american height than a white caucasian one 🙂 and no offense at all, but you have to take it as it is, that average heights are just what they are... average 😂 so that means that there are MANY VERY short white men around the world. I 5'8" not that tall right? However, I have a long back and broad shoulders! I can laugh now but when I worked shorter women always ducked like I was going to hit them! In school girls took height for someone who can kick ass, so they would ask me to get their stolen things back! I just told them to tell the girls to give the things back and they did! LOL! My wife Susie is 5/10, leggy and slim, what makes her seem even taller. While 5/10 is not what I'd call unreasonably tall for a woman like 6/3 would be, she still gets the flack about how tall are you, being a model, how's the weather, and do you play basketball., or volleyball, and you're a waste of talent if you don't. The worst insult she ever got, was from a girl about 5 who innocently asked her if she had a tumor. When she was about 12 and tall for her age, one time in a store, she overheard a girl about 7 ask her mom, "If I don't eat my vegetables, if I'm gonna grow up being a string bean, like she is?"

5’8 really isn’t tall, I was going to give u the benefit of the doubt that u were just tall for your area - but you live in LA?? Maybe America is different to the uk but 5’8 is very very normal here, average height for most young adult girls. I am 5’8 and the second shortest in my friendship group at uni, with my boyfriend being 6’5, and his whole family (mother and sister included) being over 6 foot. I’d say anything after 5’11 (inclusive) is tall for a girl

As a 5'8.5" guy, it's somewhat eye opening to read some of these comments. While this video and comment section isn't intended for audiences of my liking, I'll share my experiences as an shorter guy. I've always had a somewhat muscular frame and been viewed as allegedly "cute" and "handsome" ; even amongst taller women. Yet I stil have pretty major height insecurities lol.
