Breathtakingly beautiful. Has anyone mentioned how brilliantly recorded this is? Mics wide open, pefect staging, wonderful details. Listen to this with high-end headphones or stereo system and you're transported to another world... I mean... Ireland. I'm Dutch, and I listened to this start to finish without interruption... often wiping away a few tears. Music is an international language.
I am very happy that you enjoyed this brilliant music and chat as much as I did and still do, I also agree with every word you said except I am not Duch
Bravo Caoimhe for every bow! Amazing accenting in bowing, everything done 100% the Irish Way! No foreign influence of any sort! ☆ Bravo Seamus for singing so powerfully & sweet and for playing several instruments! I used to play bouzouki in an Irish band in Austin Texas and I was very happy every time when we had an Irish person to sing in Gaelic♡ thank you for keeping the language alive ☘️ 🍀 I know it s very old. I learnt even the Irish script although I m not Irish. I discovered it in a French book when I was a kid and it sparked my interest. One day an American friend took me along to see the Irish band at a Pub. Soon I joined it delighted beyond words. One day I sat down and wrote the announcement about the Irish Music Sessions in Irish script in colors, shamrocks, Celtic harps...it was framed immediately by the band leader.
I could call this a rare stunning beauty, but it is not, it s brilliantly and stunningly Beautiful but those amazing musicians have been producing this type of music, song and stories for several years Liam Ó Maonlaí is ancient and almost as old as me . Keep on enjoying the music
Aye!!!! 😢thank you for a beautiful performance! I lost my dah about a year ago and our ancestors from Scotland, but he would always play Thistle and Shamrock Saturday mornings. These songs brought me back to life. I dunno any words, but the songs were from the soul and could feel our ancestors singing with you. 🙏🏼❤️🩹🙏🏼

I wonder the same thing. She seems a bit shy, but I think Séamus is her older brother and she is probably accustomed to letting him do the talking, and, well, they are sitting there with Liam who I am sure to them is one step away from God. Still you are right she really is a star, no matter what she may feel inside right now. I hope they continue to be happy and that life treats them kindly. They are so young and with a talent so precious: may no one hurt them in any way!

So excited to find this. Was looking for possible post with Liam md storyteller Martin Shaw that happened recently October 2023. These are three of my favorite contemporary Irish musicians who are keeping traditional Irish music alive.
Thank you for your effort to keep your traditions and language alive. Although, as an Irish American, I do not speak Gaeilge, I consider the language and traditions as part of my heritage as well. It is heartwarming to know you and others in the Gaeltacht do too.
How is this even possible they're amazing and can play so many different instruments!!! I'm only on the second song right now hahaha but I'm so in love with this!!! The music forms a ball of energy that has to get out of my chest through dancing or I'll burst lol! Edit: I turned on English subtitles, and it might have been a mistake, but while they were talking, the subtitles just said "music." :,)
Incredible, wish I could understand what you guys were saying… then in the other hand: I think I understand perfectly well as is :) greetings from the Netherlands and much gratitude for keeping this magical spirit alive
Ahh FFS Tá sibh go hiontach ar fad. A Liam, beidh mé ag éisteacht leis an tsraith iomlán cé nach bhfuil ach Gaeilge Duolingo agam. Tá bhúir gcuid cheoil dochreidte .
They are magical had pleasure of hearing them live on Friday night. I was blown away by their talent, the sound the harmonies the bodhran like running water just beautiful.
No doubt I would like to understand what they are saying but, somehow, it doesn't matter. Something very authentic and honest going on here. Blessings, which I suppose you know what I mean.
traditional music is the only music that still has resonance and celebration of Nature and Landscape , if the text dont reflect that clearly enough, it is audible in the music itself....what i sincerely lack in any modern, commercial or classical music...and in general in our heavily industrialized, digitalised and polluted society.....😢 we as humans dont know what we are anymore....traditional music, of all cultures, let us feel who we really are again, and that we and our environment are one (at least that is how it feel for me and why I feel so `alive` when i listen/dance to trad. music)
I promise I will show this clip to many friends giving it as an example of great art by very strong willed people who love their culture with all their Being![I got a celtic harp...I need to be patient...I m curious to learn the Ancient Modes on it]
Anyone know a place to find the lyrics to this version of Amhrán Mhaínse? The third verse in particular seems quite different than anything I can find online.
such young musicians and a) they still speak fluently gaelic and b) they have a very sound knowledge of real traditional irish music c) the multitalentness (but i guess in ireland everybody plays at least 3 instruments at concert level from the age of 5)
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw nothing compares to this, no classical, no pop, rock, soul whatever....this is outerworldly and of a different level
From an island to another, greetings and big hugs from a Sardinian girl totally in love with your heritage ❤
