I am expecting my A3-41 to be delivered in early April and I have been watching as many videos as possible to learn as much as possible before it arrives. You gave some good safety tips but your blade guard should have been much closer to the wood in case your hand slipped when you were edge jointing to board. Learn how the guard works and use it properly. With that much exposed cutter head if your hand slips and comes down on it you'll have a handfull of hamburger at the end of your arm. When edge jointing just have only the thickness of the board exposed. When face jointing the cutter should sit above the board and the board rides under it and your hands move over the guard with no cutter head exposed at all. The failure rate with the "I'll just be careful plan" is not acceptable.
