Since the time of recording this video I have become more educated on the FAA drone regulations and I wanted to mention a few things. 1) All recreational drone pilots are required to pass the free TRUST training which can be found here - www.faa.gov/uas/recreational_fliers/knowledge_test_updates/ 2) If you want to use your drone footage for purposes such as promoting a RUclips channel etc.. you will need to get a part 107 license and register your drone more info here - www.faa.gov/uas/commercial_operators/ You can watch this video if you would like to take a deeper dive into the regulations - ruclips.net/video/5b0zHeOlkIA/видео.html
Congratulations, you will love it. Just FYI everyone is required to take the pass cert test for recreational flying (very easy). And if you plan on posting to youtube I'd rexomend looking into commercial license.
The montage at the end was AMAZING. Loved the edited footage and that small town looks like something out of a movie with the sun setting in the background. Great video!!!
Glad to here u got the mini2. I just get my PART107 lots of info to learn. I have on my phone when i fly is- UAV FORECAST,BAUFLY,ALOFT where u get your Authorization when you’re in control their space you can still do that as a recreational Hobbyist. It’s is easy to follow the authorization Process. Good luck now studying and the test.
You did a awesome job of flying that drone. Can't believe that little drone can take filming like that. I just purchased a mini-2 but haven't flown it yet.
Congratulations on getting your part 107! I actually just posted a video on recreational and part 107 rules as I am about to start preparing to take the 107 test. What would you say I should be studying the most?
Wow! Those shots at the end of this video were amazing. I learned a lot from you with what this drone can do. Thank you. My shipping label was just created. I can’t wait to get mine.
Congratulations on your new drone. The mini is definitely a great first drone choice? That's an awesome spot to fly. I would have let it rip, but I understand it's your first time. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to see your next videos. Thanks again. 👍👍👍
I definitely think that you can't go wrong with the mini 2 as a 1st drone. It has a lot of capability In a small package. Thanks for checking out the video.
Wow bro! Great footage! Flying while moving the camera angle isn't easy and your movement came out smooth. Can you tried the vertigo affect? That one is tricky but looks crazy cool
Note, even though the drone is less than 250g if you use it to post YT videos and promote your channel (even if it isn't monetized) you will need to get your 107C license and register the drone. If you don't post any drone footage and only use it for recreation, then you only need to take the TRUST multiple guess test (which is free) and you don't need to register the Mini 2. Just want you to stay safe and legal.
Thanks for the input and as you can see from the video I am brand new to the world of drones. My understanding was that if I'm not making anything from operating the drone monetarily then I am OK. I will be sure to do more research though to try and make sure that I am operating within the parameters of the law. Thanks again.
Very much enjoyed your video. You did a great job with your first time out. I have been looking at getting me a drone and I really like the looks of this one. Just wanted to ask if you are still pleased with it since you have had it a little bit now? Thanks for your help!
Hey, glad you enjoyed the video. I still would absolutely recomend this drone and I believe it is still one of the best all around drones on the market for beginners. If you do get a drone be sure to familiarize yourself with the FAA regulations. Recreational flyers are required to take the TRUST test. (It's easy, you can't fail lol)
Thanks Dan! I have been debating on getting one for awhile too and just decided to do it. They definitely have a place and can add a really nice element to videos. I think it's a balancing act because the weight is definitely not ultralight lol plus the time it takes to get it out and fly it around wouldn't be great for high mileage trips. But shorter more relaxed trips I think it should be fun, can't wait to take it out there.
@@HikeIntoTheSunset I’m just afraid I’d crash it up high in a tree and they are not cheap. Lol. I agree, they definitely add to the cinematicy (not a word. Lol)
I'm strongly considering on getting the same drone combo, I've been debating on the mavic mini combo for 300 or mini 2 combo for 600, and yeah I'm definitely gonna get my 107 pilot license and the trust, after I make my final decision...
Either way you go you will have a good drone. Mini 2 combo I saw for $539 right now. With the mini 2 you get ocusync 2.0 transmission vs wifi on the mavic mini which is much more reliable. You also get 4k capability, 4x zoom and better wind resistance if you can get the mini 2. I think the mini 2 is still one of if not the best beginer drone on the market.
Well done. I suggest you mount phone on RC first rather that plug in cable and un necessarily moving cable around (week point in any electronic eq is cables/switches) Gimbal overload is because you started drone in grass.
Awesome, I'm sure you will love it. And yeah I am definitely a 1st timer. If you watch the montages again you will see I really don't do anything too hard just a few key moves like fly backward/tilt gimbal up, fly forward/tilt down, forward, backward ect. It's all about smooth and controlled movements with the sticks, try not to make any Jerky or sudden movements if you are going for that look.
