    Change the screen under the sending unit located on the back of your intake. If its not knocking its lieing. Also change the o-ring on the pick up tube in the pan. Use ac-delco filters only. Do not listen to anyone who says different. Fram wix "auto store specials" are not gm approved and will cause lower oil pressure. Run seafoam in your engine 50 miles before a oil change. Run for about 100 miles and do another one. Leave 1 qt of oil out and add a 1qt of atf run until your next oil change. IF none of that helps then replace oil pump. My 2012 burban loved to pull the no oil pressure trick right before its oil change. 20psi at idle and barely 40 at 70mph. Now its 40 at idle and around 58 at highway speeds.

    Did you get it figured out? We have the same issue with our Yukon.

  • @Helmuesi911
    @Helmuesi911 Год назад +2

    It’s your oil pick up tube O-ring.. you have to drop the oil pan to get to it.
    Yours is either cracked or flattened. There’s some labor involved but the ring itself is only a few dollars.

    If its a 6qt oil capacity use 2qt atf and 4qt oil . Perfectly safe way to flush motor and works great , atf is very strong detergent and wont harm any gaskets or seals

    Removing oil pressure sensor filter: insert a rifle cleaning brush. say about .223 caliber iknto the pressure sensor hole and remove filter. Poof there it is stuck to the bristles of the cleaning brush with no damage. Judd Lewis

    Hey Aaron 👋 I called my neighbor who is a chevy mechanic at a dealership. But he's drunk can't understand a word he is saying . He is celebrating his birthday. All I could understand was make sure its the big oil filter not the small filter. If it was the oil pump would you not hear knocking . I'm no mechanic just a farmer. Have a good night

    • @PrairieSunsetRanch

      I will look into these filter sizes. I believe I have a small filter on there, now if there is a larger one then. hmmm 🤔 Definitely no knock runs smooth like butter.🤣

    Another way my dad used was transmission fluid and run it for about a mile with engine hot. the fluid has detergent. Best way is to run Mobil 1or Castrol Syntec Synthetic oil you will have no oil issues

  • @DarrensTruckzs
    @DarrensTruckzs Год назад +1

    Well at least you got the old gas /oil outa it .. which is a good start.. my next step if were me, be to change out the pressure switch.. doesn’t matter if ya changed it not to long ago.. some of those can be cheap junk an take nothing for them to go bad .. also what ever screen your talking about , clean that too .. if still there after that, id take to shop /garage let them diagnose .. then decide if you wanna fix or let them.. maybe its an oil pump problem.. it starts an runs good an no lower rod bearing or crank bearing noise at all anyways good luck 🤞

    • @PrairieSunsetRanch
      @PrairieSunsetRanch  Год назад +1

      I agree with you. I think it could be that pressure switch. Apparently they are notorious for being faulty and unreliable. The screen is worth a look for sure as I believe they are both are in general proximity of each other.

    As far as oil goes in the cars, I like Mobil 1, Valvoline, Supertech seems fine and is easy on the pocketbook. 😉

    Looks like the symptoms of the bad o-ring on top of the oil pump. Time for a new melling high pressure standard volume oil pump while you are in there, replacing that o-ring. They are not that hard to change. Plenty of videos on RUclips.
