I had hip replacement surgery scheduled that was supposed to happen yesterday. My health insurance policy changed a couple of weeks ago and my Dr. and his hospital aren’t in my new network. They canceled the surgery and now I’ve found your videos! Thank the Lord I didn’t have the surgery. I’m praying I can fix my hip and not need surgery. I have acetabular hip impingement, moderate arthritis and a badly torn labrum (all the way around). I’ve been watching your videos and doing your stretches and exercises for several days and am excited and hopeful they will help me. Thank you so much! Mitch
I wish it was made illegal to add "background" music. It's unnecessary and annoying. I'm here to listen to the person talking. If I want music playing at the same time I can turn it on on my end. But don't force it on me!!!

Love your reminders that pain does not mean damage. I'm wondering why my left hip pops and snaps and thunks when I move it or stand on my left leg with the right elevated? No pain just alarming sounds and shifting sensations
its AMASING How you start to feel relaxed after the first set I'm still far away from where I want to be in flexibility but I will try this' I also have hip impingement on the right side and its not getting any better. Thanks for the upload
Hey Matt, so I have had a lot of struggles with my hips(FAI) and listened to all your videos on FAI, and testimonials. Many things are very relatable to my situation, but some things are not lining up. When i work out, I feel great when I am moving and exercising, then later I get extremely sore, to the point i can barely walk sometimes. My mobility goes from ok or good to horrible constantly. Do you know why my hips are getting so inflamed after i exercise and any things that might help?
I have the same issue with a hip and the opposite knee. I never seem to get out of the early post PT stage because of the restricted rom and persistent tightness when I'm not doing low/medium intensity activities.
I have the same thing with my impingement.. if I try to contract the weak side, my strong side does the contraction... I can sit there for half hour and my hips completely lock up and muscles cramp horribly. After a few months I can occasionally relax the tense side and I feel stable, rooted and balanced with potential to explore range of motion... I wish I knew why I had such an emotional response but it probably has something to do with working 10-12 hour days cleaning carpets with my right side years ago
There's a lot of confusion online in regards to whether support shoes or zero drop shoes are better for FAI. I'm still struggling in understanding what's better.
I found a great exercise: Use a short stool to lean on to do squats if you cannot otherwise do them. This will help get the ball joint in the hip socket.
I'm 25 and have never had hip pain. I've recently been stretching my lower body a lot trying to increase range of motion and achieve front splits. I suddenly developed what feels like fia pain on one side. What do you think happened? It's been at least a month now I've been trying to fix it with little to no progress.
Why do you keep repeating no studies have shown a difference in ROM with bony abnormalities? There are several. There are also several meta analyses that show that FAI surgery like "Hip Range of Motion Is Increased After Hip Arthroscopy for Femoroacetabular Impingement: A Systematic Review". At the same time, many of those also point out how important soft tissue is to range, so a lot of what you're showing is definitely still valuable.
Wow. A Dr (or PT) who actually touches me to conduct real testing. That would be amazing. All mine have done is ask questions, ask me to do some motion tests, and take x-rays. Baffling to me.
I had originally thought that I had got a Hip Impingement problem, until I eventually received my X/Ray Results from 6 months ago....! And its very bad Arthritis, so I dont know which is worse:-(
I’m finding that it’s hard to tell when my back has taken over when working on my FAI hip, I’m not sure if at each point if I need length in my lower back before I can attempt hamstring stuff. I’m not sure how to continue
Does it hurt to walk when you have FAI .my right leg doesn't go past 90 degrees unless i warm it up If i pull my leg behind to stretch the front quads i get cramping in my hamstrings. Now i walk with a limp I took an xray my chiropractor said am walking bone on bone .any suggestions will be appreciated. The words used by my chiropractor was that i no longer have cartilage.
Hi I was diagnosed with FAI bilaterally underwent Rt hip arthroscopy helped a little. I cannot bend it is very painful, I limp from the Lt leg and I can't bend my left leg. I can't sit on the floor because then I can't get up without struggling. I can't be standing for long time cause then I can't walk. It is frustrating 😢
@@dingenskirchen657 thank you appreciate it the problem is I have rheumatoid arthritis I have tried many online products even collagen for bones could my hip pain course by arthritis I don't know like you mentioned unbalance muscle pain is so intense I which I can find some kind of relief I can barely walk just to let you know my condition thank you 🙏❤
@@cookiepillay9068 Have you ever payed attention to TCM, Chinese Medicine? There are some acupuncture points which can also be treated by acupressure. I have FAI, arthritis and such stuff. These points helped me a lot. If you are interested I have good German book about acupressure (Das Tao der Akupressur und Akupunktur). The main points are Gallblader 27, 28 29, 30, 31. For the points Gallblader 27, 28 you should use just a little pressure. Very good as well is Kidney 3 and Bladder 60 on the feet. But the best would be to find a good Chinese Doctor.

Huge thanks, Paul!
❤ I love your teaching moving ♥️
Would you recommend using a standing desk if you hsve a desk job and have FAI and related knee stiffness?

Maybe Gluteus Muscles, Adductors, TFL issues. In my case they have been to weak. One idea of Mat is Power to the gluteus. Sorry my English.

Thanks for giving me some hope that there is a fix.
this gives me hope too but I don't know if i can improve ROM without surgery. How about you?
Teaching muscle & brain to talk to each other. 👊🏻

I have the shape on both sides and only the left hurts. But the doctor shrugs shoulders when I ask why. I'm so tired of everything
Thanks. Very helpful. 🙏

Same sort of thing happened to me, you may have strained your adductor depending on which part hurts.
@@natelloyd9701 same thing happened to me
Thank you, brother!!!
I have cams deformity on both sides. I do mauy thai and I can’t rotate hips properly. I will try this thank you

Does contract relax apply to ankles as well for opening up that rom?

Janice - I am doing the fix but weak in the 90 90 stuff - my hip cracks sometimes- is that a bad thing?
Not necessarily! Check out this video here - ruclips.net/video/rmZIeKTSjJk/видео.html
Sir can split can recover fai
Can FAI cause loss of calcium and phosphorus?
It's not about flexibility. It is about getting the ball in the pelvic socket.
Hi what courses hip pain thank you please reply?
I think unbalanced muscles.

Your leg shouldnt bend more than 90° degrees in relation to your trunk...this will cause impingment

I have to send this video to my son. He thinks he needs surgery to fix this.
Did he need surgery? Or was he able to fix it without?

Is it just me or does he seem a lil salty in this video :D :D
