Thanks for the fun gents. New to the game and learnt a lot about racing from you lot, even the one who sounds likes he's gargling socks. Gambling seems to take a toll on the old mental health but everyone loves a trier, so keep on trying. Bukowski's 'Flower Horse' is a good short story that might resonate. Mosts of these podcasts weren't totally shit.

Aaaaah I’m gutted. Have loved listening to the pod which has given me many laughs. I must share my favourite moment though. It came when one of Jon’s projects PAPA COCKTAIL was running at Haydock some 18 months after he had first put it up. Lee turns to Jon and asks what he th thinks of the horses chances……a long pause before Jonjo shouts “FIX BAYONETS AND CHARGE…..Maximum bet”. I had images of Dads Army with Jonjo with his helmet on going over the top!!! A classic moment on the pod.
Really sad to be losing what I’d started to class as a Friday get together with like minded people But seeing how the Patron service has expanded and how much work you all put into that site it’s quite understandable But thanks for the insight and the laughs
Many thanks gents - I am a fairly recent convert to BSE (mostly for the banter and the swearing rather than stealing your tips for free) but hopefully will be able to enjoy the Sunday Sermon in the dystopian future until the four horsemen of the apocalypse ride out on Newmarket Heath much to the chagrin of Sir Mark Prescott.
Hiya. Ahhhhhhhh really sad this was the final show. I always do my own thing in terms of betting but it was great to have such brilliant entertainment and decent insight into the Saturdays to come. Just don't stop doing the "Sunday Sermon". Honestly the Friday show will be greatly missed. May I suggest that (maybe) you could do things like "Festival Specials" say Royal Ascot you could do two or three shows that week (or just one long show at the start). Anyway think about it because you are really going to be missed. You are right about the people you meet through betting as I have had the same experiences! Just keep doing the "Sunday Sermon" show. As a struggling pro- gambler myself of 23 years I can totally relate to your rants and analysis of moreorless every aspect of gambling/ racing … We had the glory days when Betfair was introduced to us like a goldmine sent from heaven ! We made the most of it but unfortunately nothing lasts forever … As one of my old mates from Perry Barr dogs used to say … ‘This is the greatest game in the world’ Now we must say ‘it WAS the greatest game in the world ‘ Thanks and Good Luck ….
