    I need to stop watching you! (I won't lmao) I always run immediately to Mercari or Etsy to buy plants that you have in your collection! But you've also inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and get into alocasias again, as I've had such rotten luck with them in the past!! Def feel more experienced and have the proper tools to deal with them now. Rip my wallet tho. 😂😭

    Its really comforting seeing you so calm about the plants that are now just stumps and were struggling. I've been in a full panic about one of my syngonium that have lost all their leaves and are now just a stump, so its nice to know I'm not alone in the planty struggle 💚

      I have a Pink Splash Syngonium that is almost dead and idk why. Bc I have a regular generic Syngonium in a 14" pot that is thriving and they both are in the same light (west side) and get the same care. I would love for my Pink Splash to thrive, any advice is greatly appreciated. I live in zone 7b US

    Def let us know if you decide to sell any props! I’d absolutely want to buy a good bit of them! I like starting my new plants from babies because I find that when I get them from big box stores, they are extremely over watered and die back before I can get them healthy from the being in a peat based soil. Soil like that is fine for hot/dry climates like Florida, be here in New Orleans, it’s wayyy to humid and it stays wet for wayyyy toooooo long. And you have sooo many of my wishlist plants!

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  Год назад

      Try beneficials out 🫶🏻 i haven’t tried lacewings yet but I know they do a good job at them. Ladybugs are an option too if you don’t have cats. Males can fly so they can spread around to nearby plants. I try to be really thorough. It takes awhile to treat and check them but it saves more work down the road. Alcohol and a Qtip and a systemic pesticide to kill the eggs in the soil. That combo works for me. You just can’t mix a pesticide and good bugs though. You’ll have to wait a few weeks.

    I hope my variegated Frydek will bounce back from its stump-state. I bought it online as a baby in late May and it promptly lost all 4 leaves. It was in stratum so I watered it and put it in a reservoir but didn’t notice it had holes in the side so I guess it got dry. Ugh, moved it to soil, then moved it back to stratum, then the top of the corm got mushy so I put it back in soil, but the roots look ok😑I don’t have high hopes.

I've seen mites active over 6 weeks out and I think they recommend leaving them on for 4-6 weeks. They'll hatch out at different times and I don't want to get rid of them too early. I usually leave the sachets on for awhile and just add new ones when I get them.
