YO IVE BEEN CARRYING GAMES AS WINSTON EVER SINCE WATCHING THIS I never knew I was supposed to go off on my own I kept trying to support my team as much as possible Thank you Bogur 🙏
@@tumultoustortellini Who can't? There's literally no skills in playing Winston, at least when they added secondary fire you can do the landing combo, but that's it. After that you simply hold left click and jump away when you're done/low hp. It's Mauga's/Orisas's level of boringness
Really appreciated the discussion at the end. I one-trick Rein bc I’m disabled and he’s literally the only character I can play rn. Sometimes I put in 2x the effort and lose, but it’s plat-diamond: there’s always a way to mtd. It’s figuring out what that is and trying to be smart that makes the game fun.
Hey bro. Doesn't matter if you're disabled. You could pick up winston/dva and a poke tank like sigma/zarya or if you're feeling real zesty, Roadhog. As long as you can play one of each for poke, brawl and dive comp you can pick to synergise with your dps and supports and drastically increase your win rate.
Bc of your videos like this. Ive been playing Ow2 like a month. Playing with winston like only 33 hours in comp with him. Have over 225 games played and have a 59% win rate with him. So,IF I, can do it. Anyone should be able to if you want.
The Overwatch hero design team can use some ideas in the last 20 minutes. It might be hard in practice to develop and balance heroes that satisfy the metals' dopamine and not threaten tanks with high skill ceilings so that the tryhards also enjoy the game, but I believe it is the correct direction. This is probably the only way every type of competitive player can enjoy their share of wins and losses.
Every time I hear Spilo talk about a brisket I think of flats, since the flat is half of a brisket. The other half is the point. When do we have points enter the creator meta?
on a 13 game loss streak trying to learn winston, everyone just runs through me without a care in the world and if i jump away my whole team dies instantly :((
If youre still having this issue, try playing Winston as more of a distraction (This helps your team have room to push), get the enemy's attention by focusing their squishy supports or dps that are in the back lines. Make sure you bubble dance and dont over stay your welcome and always have an exit strategy. Dont ever go face to face with your hard counters and know when to switch off monke, he's not always viable even if it hurts to leave him
I appreciate bogur understanding that the dev team will always prioritize casuals over the pros. It kills the game for the league and streamers, but the devs want the money from casuals to keep coming. Too many top players don’t really get that the devs are probably never going to try to fix the rock paper scissors meta just because they want them to. Not that this meta is a good thing, but bogur’s statement just put things in perspective for a lot of people.
1:17:45 if the devs thought this way then the game would have a better chance of reaching the potential it has as a competitive game. Instead, it's so easy to shut down hundreds or even thousands of hours of practice, effort, and thinking with poor game design in the form of abilities and characters that reward the people that don't want to put in the effort or the time. Just go look at Spilo 2 and see the characters being coached and the characters rarely, if ever, being coached. This is not a coincidence... In its current state, this game actively punishes new players that are trying to learn the harder characters. There will always be a need for low skill floor characters in this game, but when those same characters are so powerful at the lower level that it's discouraging newer players from putting in more effort and time into this game then it's ironically become a reason why long term player retention is so low. "Short sighted gains for long term pains."
2 min in and this is so true. 99% of people don't think about anything when they dive or do anything. I've noticed it for a while, but recently I've started asking my teammates what circumstances are ideal for them which ones are subpar, what their strategy is, what we're they thinking in that last fight, etc. I would say approximately 180/200 people not only have no clue... but the very idea that they should be thinking about moves before they make them or have an overall strategy seems to be completely foreign to them. The most likely reaction I get the most is something like " is that something you do? I never do any of that, I'm not a try hard. Weirdly enough it seems that gaming is developing a culture similar to the urban school culture, where people would rather fail miserably while "being too cool to put in effort" than be "a try hard by putting in effort or being intentional".
Tbh I'm the kind of guy that is always looking to improve but my friends really don't care about their rank or their gameplay they just want to have fun. We have been playing overwatch for the same time and I'm master's and they are silver. I'm curious, what rank where you asking these questions to?
Urban school culture 😳. I wouldn’t compare that to overwatch in the slightest. That’s a more nuanced situation that “trying to look cool”. I do work in that area of expertise. It’s more about upbringing and where education falls in terms of priority. Also if you’ve never seen anyone do it (be successful through education) it isn’t real. Or a viable solution to the current problem or situation. Also when your stuck in survival mode people usually look for immediate fixes. It’s not that simple to just look for a long term solution when your worried about eating that night. Don’t compare that to overwatch and trying to look cool. They’re two different things and it’s extremely dismissive.
Winston is garbage with 400 health in open play. Worse char ever. You have to build an entire team around him, like where is the fun in that ? And did I mention his awful ultimate ? Idgaf about the fake juggle tech, in open play it doesnt matter

Winston's Bubble can cover D.vas Ult, and you won't die. Or your teammates can get in the bubble with and you won't die.

17:38 why did his bubble cooldown instantly go from 5s to 0?
i think it resets after u get a kill just like genji
i think it is just a visual bug from watching it sped up, if you watch the same part before that replay it is normal
if you still don't know, kitsune rush speeds up cooldowns
