My phase of fire and fire related things I never quite grew out of 😂

I watched this entire video waiting for the bit about fire proofing then realised the description said fire POOFER not fire proofer. I seem to remember making similar things years ago, using a cheap airbrush screw on regulator and a imported stun gun for a spark, it was possible to get fun things like that back then 😎

A more elegant pair of spark electrodes would be the ones used in oil furnace burners. Do a search for "Oil Burner Electrodes" You could use an oil furnace transformer (120v to 10,000v) and build a jacob's ladder over your device. The constant spark starts at the bottom travels up and breaks then reforms at the bottom. It would be an interesting display followed by the massive puff of fire.

Hi @Arthur. What are you using to power the Relay Board?

Very cool! What solenoid valve did you use? I'm doing something similar and struggling to find a suitable solenoid valve for high pressure combustible gas. At 25C the vapour pressure of butane is about 1 bar (100kPa), and there aren't many EN161 valves around that can handle that. Maybe I'll have to go for something not specifically rated for combustible gas...

The one I used definitly isn't rated for combustible gas!
I wouldn't use anything like this professionally but for learning and messing around its good enough.
For the type I used search ebay (or equivilent) for "1/4'' 12V DC Electric Solenoid Valve"

Hey Arthur, I have another question. What HV generator are you using? I'm having difficulty with my ignition system. I've tried a little dual arc "flameless" cigarette lighter, and it's totally useless - I get incomplete ignition. Then I tried some HV generator modules from amazon - one "700kV" and one "1000kV". Totally fictional numbers, of course, but they aren't much good either. They make terrifyingly loud snapping arcs, and again, incomplete ignition. A pilot flame works beautifully, but I'd prefer something electrical. I've been faffing around with platinum wire heaters, which are sort-of-working, but also not amazing. Your system looks pretty reliable, so I'm curious what you're using.

I used the high voltage generators, in addition to the terrifying crack it does a good job of igniting the flame!
It works very reliably, not sure if this is a good system or if I just got lucky.
I have added some links to the video description including one to the generators I used.
