I guess that I'm one of the few people who really loved Starfield. One of the few gripes I had with it was that the base game never explored the Va'ruun much, who seemed to me was a very interesting and mysterious faction (with its own starting perk, no less). Needless to say, I am extremely hyped for this DLC. Thanks, Fex.
I’ve really enjoyed it too, as I’m pushing 370 hours in it now. Creations are fun too. Thing is, this is how they have always released games: a pretty solid base game, then over time, release in depth DLC which adds new content while quietly adding other, more minor content to be found over playtime (and bug fixes). This type of game release has been happening since Morrowind for them, and I am always here for it! I love a Bethesda game world (or galaxy in this case). Definitely looking forward to Shattered Space!
I love it still also played IT 3rd Most time in total. More hours than almost every other Game so far 😅 and enjoyed and still enjoy every Second also Love making modifications with the CK for myself
A lot of people love it, its just that the people who were disappointed are louder than us. The game was flaws, sure, but its still enjoyable. Just chilling on a planet, specially now that we've got the rover, feels great.
I' actually just reinstalled the game a few days ago to revisit it. I'm one of those guys that actually enjoyed the game even with its clear flaws. I'm enjoying the buggy and i cant wait to see what the rest of the game brings.
The biggest design flaw for starfield was making it too grounded, most people play Bethesda RPG’s to explore the lore rich world of Tamriel or the wacky and quirky wasteland of fallout, Starfield’s universe is just boring plain and simple, no interesting lore, no sentient alien races, no deep sci fi themes, just the sub par combat that Bethesda is known for and an uninspired generic nasa themed setting.
This. I've played everyone of their games since Morrowind, I can get over the jank and load screens meme, but the setting for Starfield is unforgivably boring. They translated the literal boring reality of space, with almost non of the fun sci fi into a game. The writing for the stories and characters was particularly poor too, after 50 hours I gave up and I can't remember a single interesting event, location or character.
I concur. Sentient aliens spread across planets would have been such a nice touch. Argonians, Khajit, Orcs, etc made the Elder Scrolls world so much more vibrant than Starfield’s hollow shell of a universe
If they’re focusing on a single planet, I really hope Bethesda makes some changes to the points of interest spots on this new planet and adjusts it for every other planet. Seeing the same stuff over and over again is such a killer of exploration.
I really liked it to, but I didn’t go in with the expectations everyone else had. It was also technically free since gamepass was on sale for 1 usd and you got this day one
I knew from the moment i completed the Vanguard questline that Varuun was primed for a DLC based on it. Here we are. While Starfield is far from perfect, i dont think people are appreciating what the game actually is. Space exploration is actually nailed perfectly. You really think that every planet will be like a Skyrim/Fallout 2.0? Of course not. Its that sheer emptiness thats terrifying compared to what we have right here in reality on Earth. Credit to Bethesda for listening also. People wanted a land vehicle, now youve got one. People was moaning about 30fps on console, now both Series X & S can run 60fps. They are listening and they are not getting enough credit for it
Always Liked the Robot companion design of Vasco since the trailer of Starfield it was introduced and shown in. Versatile effective design similar to TARS. Now the Rev-8 vehicle allowing Robot to sit integrating into the carefully designed notches was a nice touch.
I loved starfield because I'm a space nerd. And understood the potential of this game. Like is being shown. The hate in this community was SO UNWARRANTED
I enjoyed Starfield. It wasn't perfect, but I had a good time with it. So, yeah, I'm looking forward to the dlc. I've managed to (partially) tear myself away from Elden Ring and have just started a new playthrough from scratch, aiming to get a character slowly built up over the next month. This time I'm trying out a few free creations (which have added some great quality of life - now I'm not the only one stuck in a bulky spacesuit onboard my ship) and I'm interested to see how the buggy adds to things. Good fun again so far.
Started playing recently and lived the game. The side missions are better than full games out.there. is it perfect? No. But very good fot it purposes. Will play dlc for sure
I feel like starfield would have been better received if it was just explained a bit better about what it actually was. A lot of people were expecting based on the marketing to have No Man's Skyrim with Star Citizen levels of promised procedural generation on the planets where each planet is like it's own version of Skyrim's map. They wanted lots of randomly placed encounters like if you were just running around exploring Skyrim's map, but multiplied by a couple hundred planets each with different biomes, set pieces and creatures, each randomly generated so that each playthrough was different even going to the same planets. Instead we got a kind of fallout-like game spread extremely thin over a few planets with the rest being just kind of dead moons with a bit of filler repeated content. Don't get me wrong, I liked the game for what it was even though there were some small issues here and there I had to have help fixing with mods, but it was mostly quality of life stuff. I thought the main story and side stories were fine, though the side stories were definitely better than the main quest for me, but I also thought the NG+ was a unique take on how to do that mechanic, although I did have some issues with that as well like losing my highly customized ship every time I hit a NG+ and having to go collect the parts again to rebuild it. Overall a decent game that I enjoyed, but definitely overhyped and oversold on the marketing. But I am looking forward to the DLC and hoping they listened to the fans on changes to the game.
If that's what people were expecting then that's their fault for making assumptions. Starfield is a new IP, its not like an elder scrolls game where we all know the setting and gameplay mechanics.
I love the Rev-8, it has cut down travel time between objectives on a planet and makes scanning everything on a planet much faster. I also love how fun it is to ride around killing bad guys with the laser. Also when a ship lands on a planet, I no longer have to worry about the ship flying off before I get there.
I've liked starfield since launch. I'm sitting at about 300 hours now between two different characters, one at ng+10 & the other just waiting in first playthrough, just beyond tutorial. I'm very ready for DLC, especially since they caved on the #1 thing they said they wouldn't do (no vehicles) which to me proves they in fact are listening. I've been playing again since addition of land vehicle and it certainly makes it a more streamlined experience for me personally.
I haven’t played Starfield in six months, But I will be starting up my new play through once shattered sky drops. They’ve had quite a few things since launch that I thought should have been in the main game, and it looks like shattered space will be adding a few things that were sadly missing as well. Mods to customize your experience, ground vehicles, more handcrafted exploration, and now it looks like they’ve added spacewalks.
Looking forward to the expansion DLC Shattered Space, but I think that Bethesda is taking its sweet time bringing forth quality content thus loosing fans to other games. Keeping the fan base happy with quality content is very important plus fixing "quality of life aka game features" is very important too but the time that Bethesda is taking is just too long to fix basic issues.
Wasnt too sure about it until I just tuned in to your summary. Now I am going to try it as the thought of exploring one detailed world versus a load of cut screens to explore the galaxy is more appealing. Don’t get me working, I’d love to explore the wide open galaxy in this game world just not through the medium of cut screens. Thanks for heads up 👍
I'm interested in what they said were new ways to interact with the environment, especially regarding exploration. They didn't say more other than refering to them as tools.
I never dis-liked this game. It was a little tedious at times, plenty of frustrating bugs, etc but I went into the game kind of knowing and expecting a lot of it. The patches have been good allowing for smoother gameplay over time. I'm very hopeful for Shattered Space and will definitely be playing it.
@WindHaze10 This is unfortunately the Bethesda formula, having played their games since Daggerfall almost every single release is like this. Their games often have phenomenal skeletons, and great muscles - but no meat, or definition. The meat and definition is added over time. And Backlash was present for almost every release too after Morrowind. The same things people say about Starfield was said about Oblivion after Morrowind. The same things about Starfield were said about Skyrim after Oblivion. Same with Fallout 4 after New Vegas and 3. And Fallout 76 after Fallout 4. It has become a community pattern to pretty much shit on the game, even though it's going to continously get content - even Todd Howard basically saying as much given he has admitted that he wished he had stuck with Skyrim and Fallout 4 longer and doesn't want to make that mistake again.
Hard to believe I was excited for this game once. I guess i did get 40 hours out if it for "free" since it was on Game Pass. Glad i didnt pay for it, and i definitely wont be paying for the expansion.
One of the things I wondered is this dlc going to play differently in you've 'completed' the game. I stopped playing the main quest after a pivotal moment and I'm not sure I want to continue, but I've kept playing hundreds of hours as a Ranger and bounty hunter. Besides that I'm looking forward to SP.
If they had focused their efforts on 5 amazing planets instead of pointless exploration. Starfield would have been a success. The game is still amazing, if Bethesda revamps space combat man Starfield has potential. It really does.
Very exited for this. I've been playing this on and off for some time now. Right now I'm replaying Fallout 4, but even that game is starting to show it's age after playing Starfied. Still love both games. Yeah, it has it's flaws, and can get a bit boring and repetitive after long play sessions, but the potential is there. it just needs more time to cook.
starfield was overhyped - that was the real issue. i actually liked the visuals, environment and spaceship building stuff. the quests were boring and story was bland. i have 4090 so didnt face technical issues; if it was made by an indie developer or a smaller studio nobody would be complaining.
I wish BGS would just release the shattered space demo for everyone now that Gamescom is over. But I guess from your description there was zero new info in the demo. So I guess we're not missing much.
I bought the premium version of starfield so I, of course, am going to try shattered space as it'll be free for me to download. While having many gripes with the base game, i still enjoyed it. I have countless hrs playing it. Bethesda seems to be a company that listens to the people that keep them going so i have faith it'll be badass. There hasn't been a lot of real good releases lately and most of the games i am interested in are still on preorder and waiting for release so this coming out soon is exciting!
I just hope they fix the save bloat problem. I just recently lost an entire play through a couple weeks ago and I was pretty far into the game. It got to the point where I could not save the game at all without it crashing.
I really enjoy Starfield. Might be my favourite Bethesda game after Morrowind. I think it's the atmosphere and the overall aesthetic that does it for me. I was never particularly impressed with Bethesda's storytelling, but they do create worlds that are fun to roam. This DLC looks very interesting and I'm eager to jump back in.
This is the saddest of all of bethesda's games to me because the shortcomings of all of their other RPGs could be fixed through modding but I don't think that's possible to start feeling I mean it's possible just not probable. Does not seem like the most talented modders are interested in moving over from Skyrim or fallout
I unapologetically love this game. I played some of Skyrim and Oblivion and Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 but I don't love those past games as much as Starfield. I realize my opinion isn't popular. Starfield reminds me of the galactic exploration I enjoyed about the first Mass Effect game. Starfield isn't perfect but it's close to being the scifi game I have always wanted. I only hope it gets better and better with time.
Thank you for the support! And yes I actually liked the first game and quite enjoyed the main story. People hated me for giving it a high score but lol
At this point, I highly doubt Bethesda will be able to lure back their lost fan base. IMO they should be giving all of these DLC’s for free. I spent over 100$ on my starfield, and I honestly got less worth than the entire base game of Dragons Dogma 2. And TBH, Dragons Dogma 2 was an insanely short game.
Cmon, played DD and the main campaign does not even compare with side quests in starfields. The amount of crafts and items and skill are 3 times better than DD which is very boring with 5 types of enemies
I had tons of issues with the game. Yet, here I am playing it again.... Worse? Having fun. Keeping my expectations low for the DLC, but still curious enough to get it. What can I say.
rn for an update the thing i would love is the ability to take a decorative item like a coffee cup or a globe and place it down. That would be cool but anyway dlc looks cool gonna take a look at it after it comes out prob will get it anyway cause a lot of people hate it no matter what even though its a great game
I presume there will also be another type of currency used as can’t see HV using creds if they are so isolated. The Serpents Crusade wouldn’t have help neither.
I liked Starfield and the main narrative story missions and quest lines were enjoyable, but it did not have the feel I wanted because open exploration was very poor and repetitive. So, while I do appreciate the new buggy, I will not be returning until the expansion because being able to get from one repetitive POI to another faster does not fix the core problem I had with exploration. On the positive side, I will say that I did return to the game for the modification options added as did have a significant impact on my enjoyment. I got to get rid of some of the tedium by making money on vendors more available while making the game overall more challenging by increasing mob health and damage and the impact of environmental effects more significant and healing harder. It had the added bonus of an XP bump because on the balance I had made the game significantly more challenging. The customization is also specific enough that I could change exactly what I wanted and leave the rest alone.
Waiting on this DLC, because modding with its assets is the only thing that's going to save the game for me, and I do really want to like Starfield. But man, it's rough in so many ways, there's just not a lot to work with, especially with the world generation and space travel being designed how they are. I've made mods for every BGS game (and NV) since Morrowind with the CK/GECK/Construction Set, and this might just be the first game that doesn't have that modding magic longevity for me.
@@vermonjavic6992Nah they clearly don't know. Everyone I've seen since last September who falls into the category of Starfield hater clearly struggle to think for themselves.
@@jamesmeldrum4563 Honest question mate, because you seem like one of them. What is it with you lot? You just can't seem to let this go. You seem to think that people aren't allowed to like SF. If you really don't like it, that's fine, move on with your life. What is it about you lot that are making hating SF part of their personality? Does it make your piss boil that there are plenty of people out there that like or even love this game? Why does it make you so upset? Why do you have to chime in whenever anyone says anything positive about the game? It's really, really sad behaviour and I've never seen it on this level with any other game before. Like I said, if you don't like it, that's absolutely fine, no one is forcing you to like it. But what is it that makes you feel the need to shit on others that do enjoy it?
@@gnucompiler Thank you for the rant. Anyway, why does my negative comment get so under your skin.? I see negative comments (often correct) about games I enjoy all the time but in no way do they detract from the fun I have with them. Maybe it's because I don't define myself by the games I like? P.S. Remember, you did say "category of Starfield hater clearly struggle to think for themselves" so you are being a bit of a hypocrite here.
I plan on pre ordering Shattered Space come Sept !st when I get my retirement check. Looking forward to it. Hoping they keep new stuff coming Until Fallout 5 makes its debut.
Honestly more concerned about the dlc. I suspect it be a little longer then faction quest and will largely self contain. In other words none of problem in the base game will be addressed or resolved in anyway. Honestly the game would be better if they lean into the survival and base building mechanic cause the only flesh out gameplay loop in the game.
I bought the game at launch and I’ve got about four hours of gameplay in. I felt like I was spending more time in the menus than actually playing the game. I hope this adds maybe some updates to the menu navigation and reduced sub menus/loading screens you have to go through to get to things.
If they fix exploration I'll check it out, since I already paid for it. I quit playingt after 40 hours because having to memorize locations with no local map was a pain. Exploration is the biggest stiicking point for me now that thats fixed.
I played SF for about 50 hours and realized how much better it will be with time and improvements so I put it down. I did this with Cyberpunk too. I have come to a place in gaming were I force myself to wait for a couple of years until the game is actually finished (DLC, bug fixes, etc are mostly in) and then I start the experience. This is what I will do with SF after the DLC drops. I keep hearing SS is the only DLC coming to the game? Is this true?
I know it's a long shot but I hope this DLC at least introduces some sort of conflict between the three core factions. The main game felt like it was lacking in any conflict. I kept expecting some event that would lead to the UC and the FSC going to war again and it never happened.
Starfield was an ok game, but not what I wanted it to be so I was pretty disappointed. A vehicle for planets sounds like a major improvement and I will probably play it. This time my expectations will not be as high.
@@TheRoguePrince0 I'm assuming you are talking about "Cyberpunk 2077". A game that has more emotional depth than Starfield. A game that has more content than Starfield. A game that has better gameplay than Starfield. The only thing Starfield has going for it, is the customisation of the ships.
Is the DLC free? They shouldn't be charging for this DLC... the base game needs it, the majority of people who bought this game full price at launch and have no doubt felt let down. The hype was certainly exaggerated.
Lol 😂😂😂 I know the feels, on skibidi Bruv! I was excited when it was released. I'm not a big fan of paying $70+ USD for video games on current gen. consoles but for a game that looked like Fallout in space from Bethesda, I was down to pay. Perhaps I gave too much credit to Bethesda, thinking they would change. It was *_the BIGGEST upset_* when I hopped in. After new game+ for the 3rd playthrough, I just gave up. I went back to, _"No Man Sky"_
Looks gorgeous and the gunplay was pretty good in the base game but unless they somehow implement seamless space travel to other parts of the galaxy it's not enough to get me to reinvest my time in the game chief
@@LeMAD22 in all honesty, I didn’t mind the base game in some parts, but it’s not even close to anything like the best game. It didn’t even have that Bethesda magic of the first time playing a Bethesda game. It was a 0/10 but with all the performance issues, janky quests, the fact that there’s almost nothing to do inside 99.9% of the games world space. Idk maybe like a 6/10 purely because I’m a Bethesda fanboy and have 2000+ hours in Skyrim
I enjoyed Starfield. Sure it tried to do too many things at once, but I commend the team for trying to reach new heights, rather than pushing out a cookie cutter game for cash. Wouldn’t it be amazing if several game developers came together as a conglomerate. Each team focusing on their area of expertise. Ultimately culminating in a game that is engaging, seamless, and has true depth.

I just want Starfield to have atmospheric landings. If Bethesda can do that then I would be happy.
starfield was overhyped - that was the real issue. i actually liked the visuals, environment and spaceship building stuff. the quests were boring and story was bland. i have 4090 so didnt face technical issues; if it was made by an indie developer or a smaller studio nobody would be complaining.
Biggest problem I felt with the game is there was just nothing to explore.
Explore only the handcrafted areas then.
I doubt Bethesda turned around and started writing great stories and features under one year.
I just hope they fix the save bloat problem. I just recently lost an entire play through a couple weeks ago and I was pretty far into the game. It got to the point where I could not save the game at all without it crashing.
Hell yeah. I hope they make another dlc after it.
I actually like starfield having a good time with it as I just picked it up again, I'll probably wait for it to go on sale tho.
Dont let people who who you dont even know bring your enjoyment down. If you like it thats all that matters I enjoy it too.
The minority is always the loudest man. More people like Starfield thean hate it.
@@ronaldmckee7542 yes most people dont waste their time crying in the internet and try to bully people just becouse they enjoy something.
I agree. It was a great game. People just like to hate and nitpick at it.
Jesus christ lol, free dlc how to do u ppl say this shit with a straight face.
40 hrs for a main story is insanely short? What? Lol
@@jhguygih You've lost your damn mind.
I’m curious how did you spend so much? The game was on gamepass that was on sale for 1 usd
The Rev 8 can also drive on water BTW, huge potential now as you can cross water without getting the contamination warning 💯🤌🏼
Oddly enough it wasn't the planets I had a problem with. The gane needs a complete overhaul of crafting and skills to win me back.
I had tons of issues with the game. Yet, here I am playing it again.... Worse? Having fun.
Keeping my expectations low for the DLC, but still curious enough to get it.
What can I say.
This game was released without being finished. Mods and dlc should be free for this dumpster of a fire video game.
rn for an update the thing i would love is the ability to take a decorative item like a coffee cup or a globe and place it down.
Honestly I quit playing because there was no rover, I was like screw this, I walk 15 minutes away, takes 2 hours to get back
U know u can fast travel right?
@@vermonjavic6992Nah they clearly don't know. Everyone I've seen since last September who falls into the category of Starfield hater clearly struggle to think for themselves.
@@gnucompiler Or maybe they're just not into mind numbing pursuits as you obviously are.
I've been invading bases with the rev8 and just using the laser from it. Lots of fun to have a new approach especially in low G environments
I didn't like it at first but i got to enjoy starfield without turning a blind eye to it's flaws
Yeah i loved this game, I'll be playing this expansion. I hope they continue to add to this
I know it's a long shot but I hope this DLC at least introduces some sort of conflict between the three core factions. The main game felt like it was lacking in any conflict. I kept expecting some event that would lead to the UC and the FSC going to war again and it never happened.
The trailer is cool, but I'll wait for the 50th DLC to come out like they did in No Man's Sky and then I'll start playing Starfield
Starfield was an ok game, but not what I wanted it to be so I was pretty disappointed. A vehicle for planets sounds like a major improvement and I will probably play it. This time my expectations will not be as high.
"a mile wide, an inch deep" comes to mind when thinking of Starfield
wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle
Or Bethesda games as a whole.
That's cybertrash you are thinking of!
Except that’s fundamentally not true.
I love this game, thank you. ( from Russia ) :)
Love this. Loved the base game and I love where they’re taking this expansion.
Is the DLC free? They shouldn't be charging for this DLC... the base game needs it, the majority of people who bought this game full price at launch and have no doubt felt let down. The hype was certainly exaggerated.
The hype came from the fans, Bethesda delivered on what they said they would. Any overhyping of Starfield sits squarely with the fans.
What a massive letdown starfield was for me
Understament
nobody cares about your opinion
I do. I care. Lol but seriously it should've been ElderScrolls
Lol 😂😂😂 I know the feels, on skibidi
Bruv!
@@thevishyfishynobody cares about your comment. 🍪
Looks gorgeous and the gunplay was pretty good in the base game but unless they somehow implement seamless space travel to other parts of the galaxy it's not enough to get me to reinvest my time in the game chief
New DLC: Starfield Shattered Hopes and dreams of good game development
Honestly the base game itself is fantastic. Best game of the last few years without a doubt.
@@LeMAD22 Cap. And you know it.
This makes me want to give this game another go
Main quest in starfield was straight up so awful. Here’s hoping this one is better
What level do you need to play it?
I hope this vehicle makes the game be less a "fast travel simulator" like the main game basically was.
Weird question. But what is the song at the end of the video?
Good video by the way!
Meanwhile, Crimson Fleet quests are still broken due to bugs for console players. But yay here’s your buggy to see nothing
Is starfield worth getting yet? I skipped it when it initially released because I was busy playing Baldur's Gate 3.
Anyone else getting Typhons from Prey vibes with the new interdimensional enemy?
As far as I’m concerned, Todd Howard doesn’t have to outrun the terrormorph. He only has to outrun Chris Roberts.
They better add more random points of interest and encounters.
There are plenty of points of interest and random encounters in the base game. It just requires, you know, actually fucking playing it.
I didn’t even get 2 hours playtime
This guy definitely works for Bethesda lol. Reading straught from the Bethesda Public Affairs book...smh
They should put the dlc on gamepass
Looks good. Played Starfield with game pass tho, so probably gonna pass on the dlc unless it's free as well.
I'd like to give this game another chance. It definitely didn't capture me at first with how clunky and unappealing they made space travel
I’ll install it again.
I pre-ordered Starfield and quit playing after 200 hours. This might just bring me back.
Best Part of starfield are the modders
I enjoyed Starfield. Sure it tried to do too many things at once, but I commend the team for trying to reach new heights, rather than pushing out a cookie cutter game for cash. Wouldn’t it be amazing if several game developers came together as a conglomerate. Each team focusing on their area of expertise. Ultimately culminating in a game that is engaging, seamless, and has true depth.
OMG I COULDNT CARE LESS!!!!! Good video keep the info coming
