- Mini bio of the life of actor Jerry G. Bishop who is probably most famous for being Chicago's original Svengoolie, and for his award-winning twelve-year stint on Sun-Up San Diego

The first picture is the current Svengoolie, Rich Koz....wrong guy. Rich Koz is still alive and well.
correct that is Rich Koz
Man, I hate it when that happens. Do your homework guys.
That's a nice picture of Rich by the way.
Lololololololol!!!!!!
This is the story of the first Swengoolie.
It makes me understand why he passed the role to Rick Koz.
Danger Woman
Nothing sad about that life or ending. Wonderful full life and career. RIP
A lot of this story and pictures are not true... I am his daughter
Wow! Thanks for chiming in! I was a super-big fan of S.Y.T. Fortunately, living close to you, in Deerfield, I used to run into him uptown, mainly at Ford Pharmacy, on the SE corner of Deerfield/Waukegan roads. Very friendly and amicable; always had time to chat! A creative genius, for sure, and a gifted musician, may he R.I.P.
@@stangohr thanks for the good words… I remember ford pharmacy.. we left in 1977..
first picture is Rich Koz, not Jerry G Bishop
I could not believe that gross error right out of the gate.
Right!
I remember Sven 1970 to 73. Thanks Sven. Both Sven's.
Nice to know how Svengoolie got started thanks for sharing it
A "SAD" ending? Doesn't EVERYBODY have a sad ending? Sheesh!
Always pathetic when someone produces a video (such as this) with incorrect pictures and information.
WOW!
GROOVY AWESOMENESS!
Jerry G Show on Cleveland TV was on Saturday nights and had very cool bands usually local sometimes national acts. Kind of like American Bandstand. 1965-66 ish. His Svengoolie is (to me) heavily influenced by the wildly popular Ghoulardi in Cleveland 1963-66. Ghoulardi was portrayed by Ernie Anderson who became the voice of ABC. The father of director Paul Thomas Anderson.
This video should really be removed for bad and inaccurate information. A lot of the pictures were NOT Jerry, not just a couple and SAD ending? Give me break. Went into this hoping for something good. What a sad video.
Svengoolie is on metv Saturdays with the late Jerry G Bishop
Nope Rich Koz is on metv Saturdays. Metv didn't even exist in Jerry Bishop days.
Ummm... the picture at 0:03 is Rich Koz, who was the second Svengoolie, after Jerry Bishop was the first and the show had been cancelled.
Who were pics of the last men you showed?
It wasn’t Deacon.
Not sure what sad ending this guy had seemed like he lived a good long life in good times
why show Rich Koz when starting with the origins of jerry?
I didn't know there was an original Svengoolie, I thought Rich Koz was the only one.
No. Thanks
the original Jerry G helped create Svengoolie Screaming Yellow Theater
@@bostonbrns But Koz was a writer/producer on the original show.
OTHER RADIO STATIONS DID ANIMAL STORIES BESIDES WLS?!?!?
