is not needed and isn't good at all. and they sell plug ins, wanna have you in subscription, and then try to compete with your potential customers, I am happy that I almost do not use waves plug ins, and do not need it.
I have been using the service and I find that it does the job really well. You have to upload the mix as indicated in the instructions, and before spending your currency, review the preview and see if you need to make any adjustments to your mix. Let's say that with the preview option, you can upload different mixes and see which one will give you the best result. Nevertheless, it's not crazy to make adjustments to the piece obtained for a better result, remastering it to give it the final touch.
I just tried it on a track I just finished mixed it. I put the original and the mastered version into Logic and analyzed the two. My mix was at around 16 LUFS and the mastered version was at 8 LUFS. Personally, I found it to be way too loud. I think it could be a good plugin if it had a few options, but I'm not a fan of the service.
Would love to see this go toe-to-toe with any decent mastering house. There’s just something magical about a real person, in a real room, fixing my horrible mixes with great masters. 🤣
It is AI according to the waves site promo text. ''Our AI mastering engine leverages advanced Machine Learning technology, Waves’ award-winning processing, and the expertise of industry-leading mastering engineers to produce an accurate, custom-tailored master for each track you upload. From hip hop to rock to pop, our service will suit any genre, style, and tone.''
Mastering in a day gone by involved a silly thing called a human being with ears and a soul, but if this works i wouldn't be adverse to using it. But technology doesn't have a soul, yet it is created by souls, lets give it a go
I guess it may be useful for some. I did some research and even a poll. I think I can do without it. Great video though. PS there's going to be mixed reviews
What do you think of this service by Waves? Is it needed, is it any good?

8 lufs even. That's really loud.
it is not loud 8 lugs, actually for EDM it would be a conservative loudness@@whitenoisestudio
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'm working on some mixes now that I'm going to upload and see what kind of a job it does.
Let us know!
I love the track🔥🔥
What's the name of the track?

yeah this will not fix your terrrible mixes ;-) That second pair of ears of a mastering engineer is where's its at for sure.
No mention of AI, interesting.
Maybe Waves need a few months to refine the product, especially if it does use AI.
Thanks for the video.

So Waves has become a competitor to Mastering engineers. In other words cutting in on a portion of the pie.
Maybe. I wonder if people who use these services would actually hire a proper mastering engineer anyway.

Very mixed reviews indeed. 100% depends on which tracks you use to check obviously.
Show it on metal please.
Let me immediately make a brand new video for that.
@@whitenoisestudio Lol
I don't understand why they do that. It's not even "as good" as already existing services or plugins as Ozone 11... Just useless.
LNDR sounds better 😭 I’m very disappointed with waves I had so much hope.
I've been trying out all the online mastering services recently and the Wez Clarke AI master is my favourite.
Sounded horrible 🥹🤣
