It's always good to know the different options out there. I think mastering will be something that advancing AI has an impact on, for better or worse. It's an interesting journey to be on.
Thanks again Zane for making your videos. Fist bump right back at ya!

I wish it would show what it did to make the master. Like izotopes master assistance

Just did some quick comparison to LANDR - which is the obvious competition to beat here. Waves produced a track that is oddly +0.3db true peak , so don't quite understand why they would do that. You might want to adjust the file a bit before sending to streaming services. However, what I found good is that it applies a bit stronger EQ curve than Landr - for me thats not a bad thing. The result was quite balanced sounding really. Also the file had a higher dynamic range than LANDR. Honestly I would like to have something between the two services - I found that Waves mastering did a better job at the low end, making the bass sound more dynamic and balanced - but the top end was much smoother with LANDR. Overall, in the future I would give both services a try, compare the masters and pick the better one for each song. It's clearly a usable output.

It’s like you almost have to have little to no low end or it’s going to over saturate it

the better way is learn mastering you will save a lot of money and will have a lot more control!

I don’t think anyone would deny that it’s better to learn how to master yourself. I think there are artists that want to release music right away and don’t have time or even the desire to learn how to master a track.

Yep, all the price tags for hearing the different versions of snippets of the master is insane. You'll end up damn near paying like paying a mastering engineer. BUT every good tool has it's place in Music Production. It'll sell

Nothing from Waves, in general, is worth it for me anymore. Paying for the updates of the products you own? plus you have to be online to use them or get them on USB drive. No, thank you!

if the studio is small and you need to connect basic equipment (monitors, headphones, 1 mic and guitar), go with the antelope zen go.

I tried it by uploading my go to reference and it was not even close in loudness and clarity. When I pressed the extra buttons it started distorting quickly. Waves really do have their opinion on what it's "supposed to sound like". The same way they think limiters somehow sounds more transparent that clippers yet it doesn't... Anyway.

What average LUFS does the master come out as? $6 is cheap compared to a human who will charge at least 10 or 20x that.
It would be nice if you could hear different settings before paying.
