Saludos desde Argentina. En mi país, los JBL cuestan el doble de precio que los Edifier, por lo que teniendo en cuenta ello, me decanto por estos últimos. Muchas gracias por tu dedicación, muy interesante y útil el canal. Gracias!
Listening to this on my JBL 305s. Not a whole lot of discernible difference, which means the edifiers are pretty good. Only thing is the bass. Both have 5 inch woofers but the JBLs go down to 43hz while the edifiers only do 50hz and that difference is noticeable with the "Deep" track playing. The Edifier pair is about 100-150 bucks cheaper in Canada which would make a good second set of speakers for me (replace awful tv speakers, say no to sound bars)
I currently have the JBL's and i love the sound but when i use them on the PC they are picking up a lot of EM interference how did you connect them? And also there is some whitenoice from the power supply juist when they are on and nothing or something is connected do you hear the same thing?
I like the JBL.. the Edifiers seem to “shrink” in sound comparison... the bass I will say is about even but the mid and highs tend to blend and sound better on the JBL. Though both are in too different categories. JBL are more studio monitors as the Edifiers are more For a all round usage, is Bluetooth compatible etc
About the R 2700/R2800 question below, i understand the size explanation, but i kinda would like to hear a test too, and also the s350db, that i know its much more oriented towards a home theather setting than a desktop, but i actually used 2.1 stereo speakers until they broke up and as much reviews as i see (yours are by FAR the best reviews around, Video AND Writen) im still having a hard time to choose. So far i see the best bang for the buck are the edifier R2000DB, at least at my budget. Anyway, as i said, love your comparisons. Also Im learning a lot about my capacity to hear de differences.
Hi DS congratulations on your work, it's great! I need to check if the speakers build a low volume retains the same equalization reaction. I need a couple of reference monitors and I am thinking of edifiel 2000 db and ik louder in that order for price reasons. thank you very much for your reply! best regards
i think this is unfair comparison. LSR305 using " balanced input TRS or XLR " with Audio Interface(DAC intergrated). as you can see the 2000db using " unbalanced input RCA " (Green led light means unbalanced analog input) . so for fair comparison, the 2000db should use " Optical input " (can use 2000DB's own DAC) and imo, that sounds totally different between RCA and Optical.
was the JBL using XLR Input? Was the edifier using the stock RCA Cable? Its because, I noticed clarity & midrange improvement in the R2000DB when I replaced the rca-stereo cable to a decent (but still not expensive) aux cable. From my tests, the stock cable that came with the edifier speaker is inferior, sounds quite thin and lacks dynamics.
The main reason for that is their size. They are bigger than what I could consider desktop speakers, so they are far on my priority list. I do not say I will not test them though, just not any time soon...
I would not recommend them if you already have a decent pair of multimedia speakers. They are maybe the best multimedia speakers on the market but they are still a multimedia speakers, so don't get your hopes too high. It was a mistake that ruined a bit my experience with them. They are very good at playing acoustic, jazz and rock music. Instruments, soundstaging and voice are amazing! When I first heard Chick Corea's You're Everything (HDtracks Master Tapes Direct) on them I literally cried. :) It was a real pleasure. Problem is my current passion is mostly electronic dance music from UK with big emphasis on bass and that's where I'm not completely satisfied with them. I always have a hard time describing a sound, so I won't do that. Overall they are very good but if you already have a decent pair of multimedia speakers you better move on to a higher class.
If the JBL LSR305s were 10/10, how would you rate the Edifier R2000DBs? Likewise, how would you rate the Audio Engine A5+s? Really interested to hear your thoughts.
I had LSR305 some time ago and they were too bright in my taste and in my room. I had to reduce HF down to -2db and made some equalizing to hear comfortably. I 'm listening the video right now in my headphones comparing with original tracks and to say honestly see the same problem. JBL LSR 305 has excessive brightness. Edifier is more dark and is closer to right tonality. But 2000db has some imbalance in low midrange. This is my point of view))). The LSR 305 is more expensive for 85 euro than Edifier in my country.
They are very close, but in the song 'deep' JBL has better bass, at least I feel like that from my pc. In Italy at the moment the 305 are cheaper than the Edifiers, about 60 $ less. So I would say that the choice is obligatory ... pity because the Edifiers take up less space on the desk.
in italy they cost the same im thinking to get the JBL but i should buy a preamp or an external DAC(to use them properly) to use them with my TV i think
If You have analog outputs with variable level on Your TV or TV decoder than You can connect JBL's directly to those outputs and control the volume from the device
Edifiers sounds closer to pro speaker is unreal...i hear only 5% resolution drop in edifiers compare to JBL... I prefer edifiers for their bluetooth connectivity.

I have the R2000db, and I'm very satisfied... Good sound...
You're Goddamn Right

R2000DB will work great as a TV speaker, much better than any sounder at this price point!

No big difference. JBL just a little bit better i think.

There is not much difference, except that JBL vocals hold like a passionate kiss to the ear. This could be good for lovers in the bedroom.
Pretty easy to make my decision when you already have the comparison! I'll be making my purchase post Christmas!
I know it is kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to stream newly released movies online?
@Augustine Connor Try Flixzone. Just google for it =)
@Augustine Connor i would suggest flixzone. Just google for it =)
Presonus eris 4.5 VS Edifier 2000db, which one would be a good choice for music listening?
hey buddy I'm also struggling to choose between those two. Which one did you end up with?
About the R 2700/R2800 question below, i understand the size explanation, but i kinda would like to hear a test too, and also the s350db, that i know its much more oriented towards a home theather setting than a desktop, but i actually used 2.1 stereo speakers until they broke up and as much reviews as i see (yours are by FAR the best reviews around, Video AND Writen) im still having a hard time to choose. I think the edifier has a slightly more pronounced bass while JBL is has a more spatial sound on the mids?
Great way to describe that - exactly what I was thinking, but you put it in words!

They sounds Better with optical connection?
No big sound difference but big price difference
a didnt notice a big differend!jbl a little better but in my country jbl is so much expensiver than r2000 almost twice
in that case R2000DB is a no brainer ;)

The same cables where used with both speakers. It was good quality XLR cables, but in case of R2000DB with XLR to RCA adapters.
Is there any chance we could hear R2700/2800 in these tests? Would be very interesting to hear them in comparison to LSR305!
The main reason for that is their size. They are bigger than what I could consider desktop speakers, so they are far on my priority list. I do not say I will not test them though, just not any time soon...
Sad to hear that. I'm currently using R2700 as a desktop speakers. I'm planning the upgrade to JBL308 but cannot deside is it really worth it.
press don't stress hows the r2700 performance? im plan to buy r2730 instead r2000db..please advice

dude 2000Db worth for its price and comparison is amazing!

If JBL is 10/10 sound wise, than A5+ is 9/10 and R2000DB is 8.5/10.
I had LSR305 some time ago and they were too bright in my taste and in my room. I had to reduce HF down to -2db and made some equalizing to hear comfortably.

JBL:s make constant hissing sound which is really annouing. Wonder if it's same with edifiers?
One question wich is better magnat multi monitor 220 or Edifier Studio R2000DB ??? Please help meee the Edifier ist 60€ cheaper!!
2 years late but out of those two, go for the Edifier.
I assume you’ve bought speakers by now anyway, what did you go for?
Can you compare Edifier s2000pro vs Edifier s1000db please?
I do not have S2000Pro available at the moment :/

Pioneer RM-05 vs KRK RP5G3 vs JBL
Không có quá nhiều sự khác biệt ,tuy nhiên Jbl vẫn có vẻ nhỉnh hơn.
Nếu còn xét về giá thì có lẽ là hoà
Jbl sounds too bright for my liking
I agree.
That's why I prefer it. Sounds alive.
If only I could have my own LSR305 :(
Can I have the "Deep" full track?
ruclips.net/video/3RR2FdJ-q04/видео.html
Edifiers sounds closer to pro speaker is unreal...i hear only 5% resolution drop in edifiers compare to JBL... I prefer edifiers for their bluetooth connectivity.
on the lsr's the bass always sonds a little out of phase :-/
JBL more clear, better
JBL LSR305
Edifier like даже
I assure you, the difference in value is not accidental
The JBL cost 5 times more here...
edifier r2000db c/p better
Very few difference
Whether it is necessary to compare the shit with candy? Well, maybe not everyone can hear it.
No big different.
If only I could have my own LSR305 :(
