- Body Language still remains one of Kylie's most daring records, next to Impossible Princess. From the unconventional lead single, Slow, to the hip hop Red Blooded Woman, to the noir ballad, Chocolate, she was really experimental with her music style! In this video, I want to explore the history of Body Language, the long lasting legacy of the album and the tracklist.

What’s your thoughts on Body Language and what’s your favorite tracks?
Back then, it was Red Blooded Woman, but now it's Chocolate and Sweet Music.
Loving days, chocolate, and slow are so superior, easily favorites of the album and her entire discography!
I actually like Body Language. Red Blooded Woman slays. Even the unreleased tracks kill it.
Chocolate, secret (take you home), someday and loving days 💙
Sweet Music
As a fan from Fever era, this album really shocked me with its sounds that far away from Light Years & Fever. But this was the start of me knowing that Kylie is just so special, she knows what she wanna do, and it's not always about getting commercial success. She is an artist ❤
This album has no skips, a master piece!
Definitely!
I've always been crazy and intrigued about Body Language. Kylie has experimented a lot more in her career, with albums such as IP, Golden and Body Language. However Body Language is the most striking case as it followed a smash commercial success. I love that when everybody expected a more conventional dance record she came back like a bucket of freezing water with an experimental/retro-futuristic R&B album blended with electroclash, hip hop, minimal techno and influenced by 80s R&B acts. The album is very pop and catchy still, which is why I don't understand the bad reception sometimes. It is still a bizarre change of direction that is attractive all along and I love it for it.
That’s why I decided to make this video. The album is so interesting because of its circumstances. It’s not too crazy experimental like Impossible Princess but it’s definitely left field from Fever.
The bad reception probably was from the initial shock, but once the backlash cooled down, lots of Kylie fans begin to appreciate it so it’s not too bad. Kylie is just known for her danceable and night-out songs, that’s why she received backlash.
Body Language is a vibe. it's true it has some fillers, but the era, the aesthetic of it, that iconic Slow video..
I love the aesthetic of this album especially tbh, from the photoshoots to the music videos.
The three singles were perfect for this era, Promises was supposed to be the fourth single in some territories but it got cancelled, it would have been my choice for the fourth single too. I really love Body Language and it gives just the same level of nostalgia that Light Years & Fever give to me
I consider Light Years - Fever - Body Language to be its own trilogy! It’s a cohesive set of album with its own sound.
@@nuseason oh yes and the three albums gave enough hits to warrant a new greatest hits album
Secret (Take You Home) is my fave on Body Language
Kylie's the QUEEN 👑💯👠🔥 Body Language is one of my all time favorite albums... I also feel like 2023 Tension album is like a newer version of Body Language.... #Slow #PadamPadam
I can definitely see what you mean! Padam Padam is kind of an upgraded Red Blooded Woman
@@nuseason so true.... The Tension album is a kind of a all over the place album like Body Language and Kiss Me Once with sounds and Direction , but that's what makes me love these three albums... 💯😍
Chocolate has gotta be my favourite track of the album, it's what happens when sexiness and classiness are given to the right artist and they find the perfect balance. The song and MV has such a sensual subtilty that it puts you in this right kinda mood and everything is enjoyable.
I love Body Language.
It's still dance pop but it's more 80's inspired, more glitchy...very french.
And nor mention of Let's Get To It, her first real experimentation. Adore Body Language! ... Loving Days, Secret (Take You Home), Slow, Still Standing, Promises (all stunning) and the imagery was PERFECTION
oh my god, Let’s Get To It really wasn’t on my mind when I was writing the script. that’s my bad!
I love this album,as it was such unexpected turm musically for Kylie after the success of Fever, but I loved te album Kylie and Impossible princess and X for the same reasons.Body Language is still underatted as an album and I think she pushed herself vocally on this album too and it really shows, for me there isn't a bad song on this album. Slow as the lead single was such a great choice it's a great song and a great video too. The retro sond of the album really works and the more experimental side works as o well, I loved all the videos from this album as eve they were very different in look and sound. I loved her image/look for this album too, somehow all the photos of her from this time look like the album sounds. Kylie never wants to repeat herself musically.visually and sometimes goes left of field/off the wall musically and Body Language is a brilliant example of this, the fusing of RNB,synth pop,and a more urban sound really brungs the album together. I think it's telling a lot of songs from this album have become live favourites I hope in time people will see how great this album actually is. (matt).
I love body language and red blooded woman is brilliant
Also I love “loving days” ❤
I love Chocolate and After Dark!
Chocolate is really a one of a kind Kylie song
I love this album so much it’s my favourite Kylie album
I can’t blame you, it got some of her best songs
Over twenty years later Body Language and KM are “still standing” ❤️
Exactly!
Chocolate is pure perfection
It really is!
I always see BL as kinda like an underdog type of album. There are some songs like Obsession that make me obsessed. I really liked the video you made. It was nice to see the review of this in my feed. Thank you.
"Body Language" is my fave album, a masterpiece 💕
What a great video. Well done 🎉
Thank you! I try my best :]
@@nuseason no problem just being honest 😊
I remember working at Express many eons ago, and they would play Chocolate often. Body Language was a good album.
I love this album so much
I feel for you, red blooded woman, chocolate ❤❤❤❤
Kylie has taken afew big risks throughout her illustrious career, such as going fully experimental for Impossible Princess and going country-ish for Golden, but to me, Body Language the bravest move she's ever taken in her career, considering how high the stakes were following the success of Fever.
It also happens to be her sexiest-sounding album to date, Visually, this was the era that she looked the most ravishing.
Can you do how Rihanna went from they typical R&B girl to iconic pop star
That’s an interesting video idea! I don’t think Rihanna was ever an R&B star though iirc, though it’d be interesting to explore how she went from a typical pop girl into a superstar

I really liked body language! I have fond memories attached with it. There are a song or 2 l am not crazy about but overall a nice piece of work. I think it was a bit risky to stray away from the sounds of the fever album that made her so well known in the us but I understand why she did. I love slow, still standing (which very much gives me a Michael Jackson vibe), secret ( take you home), promises, red blooded woman, obsession, someday (personal favorite favorite along with obsession), after dark, and you make me feel. Keep up the good work 👍 I love these kinds of videos.
Thank you! I try my best to make every one of my videos as polished as they can. I agree with what you said, most of the album is great with a few exceptions.
Red Blooded Woman is SO underrated.
Loving Days ❤❤❤
Ask the record label why there wasn't a fourth single. The decision lies with them.
I know! I’m just questioning why they didn’t release a fourth single, because there’s plenty of good choices.
@nuseason It may have something to do with Kylie choosing not to tour in support of the album.
It could be because the label didn't have faith in the commercial fortunes of another single release with the albums chart performance cooling and the returns on the release of Chocolate not paying bigger dividends.
I wondered if they lost faith in the album somewhere along the way for there to be no tour or fourth single
@@nuseason Kylie decided early on not to tour.
They probably knew that the ultimate compilation was coming…
Of all the old broads making a comeback, like Cher and Madonna, in the late 90s / early 2000s she was the hottest.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
還有什麼花樣?
Such a very Asian + forced white valley girl type of English. Needed to be a pop music fan to speak like this 💅
What can I say, that’s just my natural accent!
WTF?
Kylie cut the body language era short due to her breast cancer
I definitely had a feeling it was that because there was no tours either
Didn’t she discover that she had cancer after finishing the Showgirl tour Earl’s Court shows? I think she mentioned something about it the White Diamond documentary.
nothing to do with body language. it was the tour for her greatest hits that she cancelled
@@user-rf4co1ee5o yeah but the album was in flow at that time
@@Bret121 not really. she’d ditched that era. the new era was giving you up, i believe in you, made of glass etc etc.
britney is the princess of pop, nice try
Yes but Kylie has had insane longevity since the 80s
kylie was called the princess of pop in europe and the uk long before britney debuted. i’m a fan of both
fantastic vid!!
