Just stumbled upon your podcast. Well said. You nailed it man. This trade was my life’s nail. I am the hammer that will drive it. Mentality is the key. I started a few years ago with a second hand set of tools, hooks, and showed up to tryouts with determination and no experience. My story shows that you don’t need, line-school, you don’t need experience. I’m also in my mid 30’s and had a full time 6 figure construction career that was very successful. All you need is want to and resilience in anything you wanna be successful in. I wanted it. I looked around me, I told myself, not one of these guys is gonna outwork me, outshine me or stop me from my goal today. Failure is not an option. The monster woke inside me, I was only one out of at least 100 that showed up with my hard hat already on, my shitty second hand tools on my shoulder, safety glasses already on, boots tight. It’s about the 1st impression of readiness, the will to succeed, the monster inside that won’t quit. I got picked out of 1200 candidates with no prior experience, no school. Just a CDL and 1 goal. “Belt at the bottom and get some”

And if you can’t deal with assholes your looking at the wrong career path. Soft skills with a heart made of steel is what you need. Hang those feelings on your key hook on the way out the door each morning.
