Parma dad charged in murder of 5-year-old son has first court appearance

- The 31-year-old man accused in the death of his 5-year-old son made his first court appearance in the case Monday morning.
Matthew J. Ponomarenko, who has been charged with one count of aggravated murder, appeared in Parma Municipal Court via video wearing a protective suit as Judge Ken Spanagel handled the proceedings.
Judge Spanagel, who continued the no bail order for Ponomarenko, announced the case was being bound over to a grand jury with the next court hearing set for Friday, April 2 at 9:45 a.m.

The most cruel act that one individual could ever commit is taken a life of another human but taking the life of your ow innocent child is just so damn wrong. My question is why was this Man able to have his son Jaxson if he had so many mental health issues and if he was just released from a institution, why the hell is he with a child unsupervised any way. Whatever state this is failed that young child. No individual with Mental health concerns or diagnosis of mental health problems should be allowed around any children unsupervised.
