Thank you! The tram tracks are from the vanilla version. The part where they are in the middle of the boulevard has decorative concrete which is also from vanilla.
By your observations, do people transfer between lines to get to a destination?
Not unless you force them. This mechanic is one of the game's biggest drawbacks.

Why not have the trams bypass the stops where there are no buildings? It'd make them go past them faster and not waste as much time there
Because I've decided I'm going to build up those parts of town soon.
