SCAR WEAVER - THEIR BIGGEST AND MOST LIFE-AFFIRMING ASSAULT ON THE WORLD’S SENSES
Four years on from their last album, Once Human are primed and ready to launch a fresh assault on hearts and ears. With a line-up completed by long-time bassist Damien Rainaud, drummer Dillon Trollope and second guitarist (and now chief riff-writer) Max Karon, the band have mutated into an even more devastating beast, as demonstrated with face-ripping aplomb on new album Scar Weaver.
Pieced together over the last two years, ONCE HUMAN’s upcoming album 'SCAR WEAVER' represents a massive step forward for the band. Blessed (or perhaps cursed) with plenty of additional time during the last year’s lockdown situation, the band have been able to refine and redefine their sound, inspired by a sudden creative surge from latest recruit, Max Karon. The result is an gloriously idiosyncratic modern metal record, with Lauren Hart’s career-best vocal performance just one of its dazzling revelations. With ONCE HUMAN’s most intense and explosive music to work with, the singer has pushed herself to new heights, showcasing a vastly expanded vocal range in the process.

Damien Rainaud, our bass player, came up with the title “Scar Weaver”, Which I thought was brilliant for the topic I was currently writing for the song. When I asked him his meaning for the words, he said “We all go through life creating scars onto others.. bad scars, and good scars. We are all Scar Weavers.”
The Scar Weaver track is about dealing with my anxiety and catastrophic thoughts.
I give a bad thought (which is ONLY in my head) a true reality by feeding it energy- thus, giving it life, to grow and completely engulf my mind.

Default mode network. That and, we live in a Darwinian world, it's no wonder. Maybe they'll load up the next album with Jungian depth psychology, that would be a masterpiece.
Awesome riffs. This band is getting heavier, I like it. Lauren is definitely my favorite female vocalist at this point too. Love the aggression.

I only discovered you guys with this song. I feel ashamed of it because your music is incredible! I thought you guys were deathcore at first, and oh boy, was I wrong. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that you were not deathcore at all. The black metal element (my favorite genre) with that incredibly low guitars is what made me fall in love with your music right away. It's so fucking HEAVY man. I love it. Thank you for this masterpiece of an album. 🤘 I've been listening to the album for over a week now and it's ridiculously flawless. It's like getting goosebumps from your very first kiss. Your guitar tuning is also very interesting to me. It's so low, yet so tight and crystal clear EVEN WITH THREE GUITARS! That is just amazing. Well done on the production of the album as well. I cannot praise you guys enough.

First time watching the video and I love it! I've been following this band since I discovered their "eye of chaos" on RUclips on accident and their sound is so beautiful and capturing. Also I love the hands with the eyes opening slowly through the video and correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like it's a refrence/inspired by one of tools old videos. Either way I love these people and hope they only grow more successful!
