    One doubt !!... In the previous video You said that after diffusion charges destroy each other but what about this , here is something totally different they are constituting to diffusion current and depletion layer getting narrower.( but charges don't get destroyed ) ....why is it so ?

      In Forward, neg terminal of the battery reple the electron towards p type and positive reple the holes towards n type ...so they diffuse eachother near dep region..in this one reverse bias, there is no diffusion ...the liitle bit current is conducting only bcz of minority charge charier...here neg terminal is connect to p type so the e from the p side which is minority charge carries will repel towards n type nd similar fir holes so this little bit flow is because of drift current. 😅😅

    if majority charge carriers flows from one region to another due to diffusion only then what is the use of connecting the external power source? I am a little confused by that part.

    Why drift current remains constant?

      Because the drift current is due to the minority charge carriers, and there are so few of them, we can analyse it as being constant (in reality it will change slightly)

      yes, it just changes in magnitude, following the potential gradient

    But why dont the electrons travel to the p side via the external circuit (battery) and travel through the holes , then aided by the electric field sweep through Dep. layer and complete the circuit.

      Electrons if happened to travel in p region through external circuit they will recombine with holes of p region and will vanish by becoming neutral similarly in n region.
      Sir plz tell me I m right

    how come minority charge carriers(holes in N-type) even enter the electric field of ions(Depletion region), when there is a positive charge at the beginning of the field? Shouldn't them be repelled by it and not allowed to even enter the field?

    This is confusing me also.Why the electrons from the negative side don't fill the holes in the P material?A teacher actually said to me that they are filling the holes but they cannot cross the barrier later.Thank you.

      In fact, it's the recombination that leads to current. Every time an electron and hole recombines, an electron flows through the external circuit to the other terminal.You can read more under recombination current.

      actually a good question.now according to me what happens is when the elctron from negative terminal flows to p type recombination occur and at the same time an electron is taken from n type and a hole is created whuch is again accelerated towards p type making the holes in p type pretty much constant.:>)

    Why the electrons of N side doesn't pass through the wire and make the current different fron zero but only the minority electrons of P side pass through the wire making the current almost equal to zero?

      ​@@gunajothisekar5053The potential barrier exists due to the field. The field supports the passing of electrons, the minority charge carriers of the p-side, to the n-side, doesn't it? How does it prevent the flowing of electrons from the n-semiconductor to the positive terminal of the battery? What it does is preventing the flow of electrons from the n-type semiconductor to the p-type. Why don't electrons flow from the negative terminal into the p-type semiconductor, from the p-type semiconductor to the n-type, and then from the n-type to the positive terminal? The electric field doesn't oppose any of this, does it?
