Manila has new modern buildings whereas SF has old buildings but has modern amenities that Manila doesn’t have. Okay, Manila malls excels those in SF, but when you leave the malls, the reality of a a third world country is visible to your eyes. @@cuanber60 hahah! sorry but we are still a third world country. and that is due to our corrupt government officials and incompetent leaders like duterte and bbm. and also, beautiful cities as what you’ve said? where?
There;s a replica of cable car of San Francisco roaming around Eastwood City everyday. Wondering where is that now. I saw that in other videos of Eastwood.
I see how you can compare it to SF and LA, it’s what you would hope these cities to be, but now unfortunately have become so degraded. I’m from LA born and raised still here for 30+ years. That shopping area youre at specifically reminds me of Universal Citywalk (between San Fernando Valley Studio City area and Hollywood) but is more clean and modern! Keep it up Zane we will keep watching 👏🏼
Since the downtown "San Francisco" area is now a scene from a horror movie, with most stores having shut their doors and huge crime, how does it compare with Eastwood City?
I’ve been to San Francisco. Crime, homeless people in tents, ghost downtown, high incidence of shoplifting, killings are definitely not seen here in Eastwood, Metro Manila. It is a small district with residential towers, malls and many American companies who have offices, restaurants and bars. Just for purely fun and business. There are many days and weeks in Eastwood with zero crime incidence.
I am so sad with the developments in California since I have close family friends and cousins who are still there. I love Beverly Hills and my favorite Venice Beach.
S.F has been the dumps lately but so has many major U.S cities. It was a gem back in the 70's, 80's and 90's though. No, Eastwood city is nowhere near that, I basically look at these cities here like districts compare to S.F .
You may also want to visit filinvest in alabang in the south.its like bgc that is not crowded.more.spacious.the 3rd or fifth largest mall is there, the festival mall.
Manila is really developing rapidly with all those business districts sprouting everywhere. There are other developments upcoming in the Pasay area. The reclamation however was abruptly postponed for further studies. Makati is currently redefining it's cityscape. The Mandaluyong area is also developing. Ortigas is currently facelifting. We do also expect up north like the Subic area. Manila will really become a bustling mega city in the very near future. Enjoy your exploring Manila and more power to your channel.
I think the impact will be greatly felt once subway line from airport to several business districts will open in 2028. According to reports from government, they are on schedule. I didn’t know that BGC will have two stations: in Market Market and Uptown. I thought it’s only in Market Market. Ortigas will have two stations: one in Estancia Capitol Commons and one in front of Marco Polo Hotel and walking distance to Westin Hotel.
I stay in Eastwood when am in manila . I love it there cause you can just walk that loop to go to banks , restaurants , church , 2 supermarkets, shopping , spa, and I like the vibe

Since you're exploring the malls in the north, try UP town center not to be confused with Uptown Mall. UP because thr lot is owned by University of the Philippines where UP high school used to be. Its at Kapitunan QC where the university belt of the north is at.
I somewhat agree but I should have included in my comment that I was just referring to the similarities in the infrastructures and urban atmosphere plus we have better and bigger malls that you folks do over there. Now, rest your mind and stop overthinking pal.@@phoenix5054

The thing is, generally, Filipinos are self-deprecating. They seem hesitant to praise the country that has everything to offer. Things have indeed changed in a most POSITIVE WAY, and oh wow, Manila is world class. I live in Europe and travel around this continent, but it is becoming decadent. I was in the Netherlands just a couple of days ago to spend my birthday week. What a peaceful, efficient city. Filipinos too, can learn a lot from the efficient Dutch. They even teach their citizens how to behave. Still, good to see you having a grand time appreciating what Metro Manila has to offer. Thank you. Cheers from Spain!
Truth! If I can add anything to my country: a metro/train along C5 parallel to MRT, and of course connecting to MRT/LRT somewhere, power plants and modern ports to support manufacturing here, etc. Given the storms we have, agriculture really isn't a good thing to focus here from an economic standpoint.

I just spent a week in Eastwood City based on this video. I really enjoyed the area. Rode out the typhoon there. The Eastwood Richmonde Hotel is connected to the mall, so I could walk in the mall and do much of the City Walk (under awnings) without getting drenched. I think I like the area better than BGC.
