  • Hey guys, today we are back with more of the most intense milsim that can be found anywhere in the DCS World community with the Red Flag Group.
    As you guys know from my last Red Flag Mission Video, the Red Flag Group is an invite only community whose goal is pushing the limits of realism within DCS World PvP and Cooperative multiplayer in the name of educating members of individual squadrons that are invited to participate, so they can return to their squadrons and transfer the lessons learned to their members. These lessons go beyond just flying skills, and include things like mission planning, administrative tasks, briefing and debriefing skills along with a host of others.
    Pilots, planners and controllers are expected to have a deep knowledge of their aircraft or in some cases Aircraft(s) plural for planners, tactics, administrative functions and IFR procedures up to US Military, FAA and ICAO standards.
    Many of the voices you will be hearing are professional pilots both military and civil, professional controllers, aviation professionals outside of the cockpit, and some awesomely skilled and knowledgeable DCS World Super Fans in all mission roles!
    Today’s mission is a small part of what was called a Super Flag event, made up of a series of smaller, faster paced missions, meant to test the short notice planning abilities of the Blue and White forces, along with the ability of Blue Force pilots and controllers to react to changing events and show their flexibility in combat operations.
    The White force in particular really wanted to stress and emphasize communication and coordination between the flights engaged in the mission themselves rather than playing a game of telephone through the AIC or TAC C2 controllers.
    This was one of the major learning points from the last Red Flag where you saw me get shot down by the Red Forces, after a breakdown in communication between the OCA flights, the AIC and the Strike Flights, leaving the strike flights on their own in the face of the Red Force player controlled Aggressors.
    This is probably one of the most difficult learning objectives that Red Flag stresses, because most DCS World missions either have pilots over communicating making the strike freq unusable, or in our last case, under communicating leaving pilots in the dark.
    As you watch the video, I believe that we did a MUCH better job with our Comms and keeping all players informed so that audibles could be called, MiGs could be engaged, and HARMs could suppress enemy SAMs while strike jets could get in and do their jobs very effectively.
    Also big shoutout to one of the Founders of the Red Flag Group, Recke, a long time member of the Spuds Buds discord server, and participant in my missions flying as my WSO in my back seat which made the mission so much more fun, and made it so I could just have a blast vibing in the Front Seat flyin’ around the NTTR! I was probably having too much fun! Haha
    Thanks for watching guys!

      Spud,
      Could you give us your insight on the latest attack on Israel on the 10/6.
      with your vast knowledge of Middle East military history it would be very informative to get an unbiased view of this devastating attack and how it could of happened and what the retaliation option will be.

    You are all just amazing. These just get better and better. Just immense to watch and listen to. Epic! Credit to everyone involved. Comms and control so much easier to understand. Amazing the value of a good wso. I’ve never watched a DCS sim with a “proper” wso in a jet before. Love the “bring your pet to work day” moment.

    Nice. This is what I aspire to. As real as it can get. You can't find this level of discipline on most servers. Most just do what they want and goof off. Some will enforce discipline but it's stupid stuff like enforcing taxi speed limits or pattern restrictions. This is a little too advanced for my limited skills. I have the will, just not the ability. Soon. Soon I will have both!

      @@Spudknocker Truer words have never been printed! My biggest challenge is focusing on one module and really mastering it. I have almost all of them. I will spend a few days with the P-47, then maybe the Tomcat, then I will start missing the Viper, then I will mess around with Combined Arms...I am scatterbrained! I love all of them so much that while working with one, I will watch a video about another and then get stoked about that one! Like right now. I have really been working on the A-10C II because it's so complex, then I watch this video and get all jacked up about the Mudhen. It's all good. They're all fun and I still learn, just not as fast as if I would just master one then move on...

    Awesome. Loved it. Might be a dump question: in the downwind at 2:08:48 the Eagle is doing a straight level flight and nose is pitched up around 7-8 degrees. Why does the AOA indicator report around 17 degrees?

    • @Spudknocker
      @Spudknocker  9 месяцев назад +3

      Hey man, pitch and angle of attack don’t always correlate (aircraft dependent really) and AoA in most aircraft are displayed in “Units of AoA” and arbitrary measurement of AoA that A/C manufacturers in this case MDD/Boeing have calculated based on speed, altitude, air density, air temp etc.

    • @Jor_G_
      @Jor_G_ 8 месяцев назад

      aoa is the difference between fpm and nose position. On a level flight they correlate, so it should be 7º as he says. Not sure about the arbitrary units of measure thing tho, that may be it. In the T38C it was on a scale from 0 to 1, being 1 the stall aoa, but idk what the f15 uses, should be degrees as the hornet. If it is in degrees terms, it is wrong in the hud.

    Hey Spud, new subscriber here.
    Just wanted to give some constructive feedback: it would really help to make your videos more exciting to intersperse your cockpit footage with more external views that convey what is going on. Y’know, kind of do some visual storytelling.
    It can get really boring being in the cockpit for extended periods of time listening to chatter. This sim is so beautifully crafted it’s a shame not to flaunt it visually. Not sure if you’ve time for that type of thing but it’d help.
    Btw, I’ve found your tutorials immensely informative and helpful, so thanks. 🙏🏼

    • @wingless747
      @wingless747 4 месяца назад

      Not boring for me, I prefer the videos being in the cockpit, showing what Spud does. It’s very good for new Strike Eagle pilots who wanna know how to do things more, and overall how it functions. Some external footage from previews could be nice though.. maybe…
