This song's subtext is so DARK, but the chorus is just too catchy to ignore! It's a great juxtaposition.

The first two lines of the song might seem like a throwaway, but looking back after you know the context, you can't unsee the implication:
_The beginning of our love, this continuing dream,_
_I’ll surely spend it with you_
Keep those lyrics in mind for later, but for now, the first verse.
_The cold wind, the season that brings us closer_
_As we entwine fingers, my feelings of love overflow_
_Every time I push the “warm” button on the coffee vending machine_
_A light goes on in my heart_
Okay, so this song's about winter, and a shared memory of a couple, but it sounds a little wistful. Comically so, maybe. But it's undeniable that the memory of winter and the simple act of pressing a button makes the singer's heart warm: there's a fondness there.
Now, the first part of the chorus shifts this into darker territory.
*Get Down*
_A shaking, spinning, touching, painful feeling_
_Sleeping together in a winter land_
_You looking only at me, me looking only at you_
_We make a promise for tomorrow_
Sleeping together, why would that be painful? In a winter land, shaking, spinning, touching, painful...I mean, a bed's warm. It shouldn't be _painful_ or any of those other things.
Second part of the chorus goes deeper, and this is where the subtext sinks in; notice the second line.
_You hold me tight and I feel a burning love_
_Wrapped in the heavily falling snow_
_I’ll love you forever, I’ll love you even more than today_
_Forever, eternal love_
She's wrapped in snow, shaking, spinning, in pain by *how tightly packed the snow is on top of her.* She's *dying in a snow field.*
I won't mention the rest of the song, but it backs me up; she talks about how even if it's a lie, a dream, or the present, she'll forget about the past and "spend the winter nights together", and that "your smile lulls me to sleep like a warm blanket", alluding to the fact that snow's on top of her and crushing her, but it's what reminds her of her now dead husband, who she thinks will protect her from her sadness as she's dying. She's just happy she'll get to see him again, to "love you forever, I'll love you even more than today".
But yeah, once you see it, you can't go back. Some really nice, dark stuff inside an otherwise really catchy pop song and meme.

As for an explanation, just look at the lyrics with your newfound knowledge in mind. You should be able to piece it together.
