I'm seeing The Witches on my dad's birthday on the 18th December, and I'm so excited! This made me even more excited! I've only been to the National once before and it was a school trip to see Frankenstein with Benedict Cumberbatch back in the day. I had no idea it had eating options inside, so that's solved one of my worries for the day and all the merch is so cute!
I’m just gutted they were not selling the CD in the shop and you can’t even buy the songs online (except one). If I had to choose, it would have to be the Grand Witches solo and second boy’s main number about sweets. Spectacular!
I just saw the show tonight, and I grinned big time when Dave Malloy used some Great Comet with the grandmother. I instantly recognized the music, and even the way he had her sing it was like Grace McLean. I also saw his Moby Dick musical, which was very interesting. But I really enjoyed The Witches, it was a good time.
Thanks for taking us with you. Was debating whether to see this or not (have seen both Matilda twice and Charlie when it was at Drury Lane) but you have sold me on this (looking at adding a extra day to my new year theatre trip just to see this). National theatre looks like a great venue (similar to the barbican). Love all the merch. Thanks for all your tips it looks like there a lot to do and plenty of places to eat before the show (so best getting there early). I know from Mickey review he didn't get the mice but the big question is did he manage to get the last cupcake. 🐭
HII AT THE END YOU LNOW THE FROG? That’s my friend Stella! If you go to see this look out for the snowman coming out the fridge, on of the tomatoes or the frog! She plays chorus and I would love to know if I saw her!
I usually sit as front as possible now because of my poor vision. (including quite a few front row trips) Luckily my local theater the stage isn't quite this high & with a pit in front of it that helps give at least a bit of space. The merch is very fun for this show props to whoever designed the logo.
🐁 I want one of those Formula 86 pins soooo badly!! Fave book by Dahl is "Danny Champion of the World" ...not sure it'd be a great musical but the story itself is terrific. Very close second is "Matilda"

Uploaded 1 minute ago with no views? I’ll never be this early again. 😂 Super intrigued to see this one after watching Mickey-Jo’s review!

Matilda is one of my favorite musicals 🐁
Did Mickey buy the mouse? And the muffin as well?
Neither sadly, the muffin had gone before he got to the front

Biggest disappointment in years! So many missed chances! Great ensemble and great kid actors, though.
