LSV grunting about discarding to hand size after wheeling someone to 1 card might be the most LSV thing we've seen in awhile.
I learned everything I know about cube from LSV, I love all two colors of magic

It's funny, but lsv plays green and red a ton also. Particularly green, especially when he did lands every draft.
He alsp did well with his big red decks and also dabbles i to reanimator when opportunities come:)
I absolutely love how live your Cube is - changing up 20+ cards at once keeps everything fresh, and that keeps the format a lot more interesting. It'll be interesting to see how the archetypes are influenced by these changes!
Turn one win with this deck: mulligan to a hand with swamp, consultation, oracle, & LED. Put oracle on bottom. Play LED, consultation for oracle (sac LED for blue), oracle. Profit
I had a similar thought about scrying being amazing in this deck as u can both clear the deck with consultation while also getting a card needed to win. Those surveil lands would actually have been so much better as scry lands in this particular deck.

I could be way off base, but if you have Demonic Consultation + Thassa's Oracle in cube, at this point you may as well add Time Vault + Manifold Key. Probably easier to interact with for most decks
I think the fact that oracle and demonic consultation is the type of combo that if it doesn’t work out you just lose on the spot and the color restriction on it is a lot more narrow makes it a lot more “fair” that time vault + key. If they counter your time vault you haven’t committed your entire deck into being exiled, you just committed two colorless cards and your decks probably has other ways to win
@@mishabulanenko2505 There are only 3 cards in the cube that kill you on the spot. Baleful Mastery, Endurance (not reall on the spot) and Ancestrall Recall. (is Prismari Command in? that would make it 4). Counterspells don't kill you (you never mill), kill spells don't work at all. Only Counterspells and the 3 cards mentioned.
thoracle consult is actually way more like vault+key than this video shows. LSV built a doomsday deck that uses thoracle consult, whereas a deck that focuses more on thoracle consult plays really fairly until it wins out of nowhere, and you can win game fairly just by beating down with defensive creatures because your opponent can't develop their board because their trying to hold up interaction
@@NINtastischYeah, those 3 plus any counter magic allow you to stop this combo and if you do then the oracle player just loses. With time vault+ key if you stop that combo the other player doesn’t lose on the spot. The only thing that it cost them was putting two colorless cards into their deck and that’s it.
Edit: I guess you don’t lose on the spot if oracle gets countered and you still have e Jayce, and I do think that the fact that this win con has a kind of back up of Jayce and doomsday is something that gives it an edge over vault+key, but the color requirements on Jayce and doomsday are super costly

I'm excited to see how the new cards do (commenting before the draft is done). Honestly, the frequent updates you make to the list have done a lot to keep the channel fresh. Good cube is good cube, but as a viewer, it's nice to see variety over time. Great work with the channel!
Some good names for Demonic Consultation:
- To rub it in: Abandon Hope, Lose Hope, Extinguish All Hope, Savage Beating
- Cool names: Glorious End, Play of the Game, One with Nothing, Onward//Victory
- For the meme: Shenanigans, A Good Day to Pie, Borborygmos Enraged, Storm Crow, Sarpadian Empires Vol VII
- LSV-only-tier: Head Games, Heritage Druid, Eater of Hope
LSV has the charisma, deep knowledge and quick calculation skills to entertain his followers with high difficulty high upside nonsense.
BenS is a drafting algorithm whose videos require your full attention and focus to absorb his high rate of specco knowledge output. Alas, he has been lost to grinding cash game poker all day to pay the bills. This is an affront to the gods of Dominaria!
This is some substance dealer tactics on display. First round makes promises and as they don't get delivered he hooks us up again with guarantees of this hitting different this time.
In Rd 2 with the question marks about the Brainstorm in the Doomsday pile, if you replace it with Jace, since you already have UUU, you can just play Chrome Mox , cast Jace, mill yourself to 0 and win off that.
"It adds double blue or double black or any combination of those" - ...there is exactly one. Love you LSV, I don't mean anything rude by this

Pillage the bog is straight gas, like it's almost on par or exceeding dig through time's for how many looks you get for 2 mana or it's just hello sick setup card for 3 since you want to cast it with more lands out anyways. Can easily dig 8+ cards with it consistently in a cube setting since most decks hitting 4 lands is normal. To make it even nicer it's in a color combination that doesn't normally get this kind of card selection outside of just regular tutors.
Can't wait to see it cast in an exploration type of deck, could realistically hit almost half the deck on cast with it there.

in my opinion the best card to name with demonic consultation, when an oracle trigger is on the stack, is "you are already dead"
Doesn't any instant speed planeswalker removal work on Jace if you remove him in response to whatever would trigger his replacement effect (as in, lose the opponent the game?) I'm pretty sure Baleful Mastery is ordered such that Jace's win trigger would replace the card draw if it's targeting him, but it's a moot point if you can win the game with the 3B cost - it does beat thoracle though.
704.5b If a player attempted to draw a card from a library with no cards in it since the last time state-based actions were checked, he or she loses the game.
Baleful Mastery should work on Jace since state-based actions are checked when someone gets priority and Jace wouldn't be on the battlefield anymore when that happens.

hilariously awesome deck, Luis. but is the consultation Oracle combo a little too easy to be fun? even for vintage cube, it's so cheap and fast. at least twin takes more mana, Channel costs life, etc...

I don't think outlaw types are really that common in vintage cube so yeah, 2 Mana fairly unconditional removal is great

Is Thassa's Oracle + Consultation going to end up in a similar boat to Time Vault + Key? They are both cheap 2 card combos that win the game on the spot and are harder to interact with.

540 is standard. In an 8-player pod you use 360 cards, or 2/3 of the cube.

yeah, not a fan of consultation in the cube. sweet deck but consultation as a one mana exile your deck just makes the oracle games with it very unexciting.

to be honest most new cards can't compete with the old ones. The powerlvl difference is just to much.
that’s only true to an extent. in this deck for example to new cards were propped up by some busted old cards

I think it's reasonable to try all the ones he's trying. Sometimes they play better than you expect. However based on my experience with these cards in cube in paper over the past few weeks, im pretty sure most will be cut. Pillage the Bog is the real deal though.

@@leroyj62 I think that card may miss too many relevant targets for it to be that good. But I honestly just never even gave it a shot cause I thought it would miss too much.
