This was brilliantly presented. I don’t have enough words of appreciation for the quality of content in these 16 episodes. I bought this book and it was shipped to me but it was lost in the mail. But these 16 episodes have provided enough insight about this book. Thanks to both the gentlemen especially Pervez.

it was awonderful expeirence listening to the various conversations of Dr Shaheryar Azar and Dr Pervaz Hoodbhoy. Dr Azahar deserves appreciation for delving into the book, choosing nuggets and drawing out Dr Hoodbhoy to express the essence of his ideas.
it is for the people of Pakistan and its erudite wellwishers to review the past ,and write a new chapter , which will bring hope to the people of Pakistan and peace in the subcontinent.
    Many 👏👏👏.to both.

This last of the discussions is perhaps the best! This part has solutions, that Pakistan needs to heed and follow! Particularly the words, "Un-cage the women." Even Saudi Arabia is on the way to great reforms under the MBS's rule. The religion, the way it is practiced in Pakistan, is hurting Pakistanis in a terrible way, as per Dr. Hoodbhoy...and this is seen as a statement of fact by all countries, to say the least...

Thanks Hoodbhoy and Shehryar for such beautiful thought provoking, disturbing yet necessary discussion on book. Enjoyed every episode. I love writing style of Hoodbhoy, however, Mr. Sheharyar did wonderful job; his questions, narration and ability to summarize the context made this journey so interesting to follow. Stay healthy. Khush rahen

If 10% of Pakistanis read this book and understand then I'm sure something good will happen to "Land of Pure". Thank you Pervez Bhai and Sheheryar Bhai. May Allah keep you in His protection.

By the rules of partition, Kashmir (the whole of it including POK) should be with India, READ HISTORY INSTEAD OF DISTORTING IT.
The only leg Pakistan's claim to J&K stands on are UN resolutions and THAT was not part of the rules of partition as also holding a plebiscite was not.

  • @venkatraman9699

What an impressive analysis of Kashmir !!
Prof. Hoodbhoy says by the terms of partition, Kashmir must have been part of Pakistan while achnowledging it is multireligious . Then what terms of partitiin would entail Pakistan to have Kashmir.
If religion is the basis, why Bangladesh separated? You did not know how to keep your country intact and you want Kashmir??
    Dream on more!!
Also Professor says Indians must recognize Kashmir problem!! Sir, It is a Pakistani problem and we in India have no problem with Kashmir. He also says treatment of Kashmiris is brutal; True !! Just talk to Kashmiri Hindus who were ethnically cleansed. Did this happen to Muslims in any part of India??
Also Professor Hoodbhoy rightly says about Iran's civilizatiinal values for its relative excellence in STEM. He is correct on this.
The trouble comes when you bring Islam. It is a disgrace that as a society, Pakistanis identify themselves with Arabs and Islam when , civilizatìonally, they belong to India. Professor says we have to see where we went wrong to correct it.
You cannot sir; you went wrong when you chose to follow Islam, in my view. Islam and science are poles apart. Among Muslims, Iranians are least Islamic and very open minded as a civilization which is what make them excel. This applies to Ahmediyas and In Indian context, Bohras who are very prosperous.
An open challenge : Please ask Bohras to come to Pakistan and, I assure you, they will NEVER. They know they will be massacred. They are proud and patriotic Indians.

    WOW
    SAW ALL 16 PARTS
    MY SUGGESTION
    FIRST THING FIRST
START FROM CHANGING THE NAME OF YOUR COUNTRY
CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR COUNTRY
    CHANGE THE NAME
AND THEN BUILD A ''NORMAL'' COUNTRY
    THANK YOU.

Sir, what I may say, may be a gross simplification, but the power devolution that you suggested, may create more problems than solve them.
Like in the old USSR, the Glasnost and Perestroika policies caused devolution of power, which then caused the immediate collapse of the Union.
    Pakistan may go that way.

    1. 2-Nation theory is a reality. 1400 years of India's history is the best example to prove this theory. Pak and India are living examples.
    2. 2-nation theory or religiosity is not the reason why Pak ended up becoming a disaster; it is Islam that ruined Pak. Religiosity in India, made India make significant progress!
    3. As usual, most of this discussion is based on distorted opinions of India.
