Nearly overlooked watching this video to the end…Lovely Wanaka…fond memories of the place. Lake Hawea is nice to swim in as well..I’m glad you found it, by far the clearest lake I have ever swum in. As an ex Saffa, I found it weird swimming in lakes in NZ... Wanaka is def a go to destination, especially in winter. Do yourselves a favour, by return tickets to Q’town, hire a car and have a relaxing “mozey” at leisure next time.
One of my favourite parts of NZ - shame you missed The Blue Pools, but as you say , next time ....
