- Mercyful Fate - A Dangerous Meeting
Another great classic of the Don't Break the Oath!!!
This liveshow is from 93/94, after the release of In the Shadows.
HAIL THE GODS OF BLACK METAL!!!
Rest In Peace Timi 1958-2019
this song rules! the whole album rules! first time I heard it I was higher than Lars Ulrich's hairline
I heard don't break the oath when I was 16 years old.. It blew my mind the guitar work the riffs the drums and of course the incredible vocals.. Changed my life forever I compared all metal after that against don't break the oath.. To me don't break the oath the best metal record ever recorded... !! Fin
100%. I listen to MF and KD since 1985 and Don't break the oath is still my all time favorite record, for it still sounds fresh after all these years. King Diamond rules!!
Awesome song
Awesome band
Too bad there's almost no official live video releases of these masters of metal :(
tonight the circle is meeting again!!
It makes me feel Speechless.
Mercyful Fate is part of my soul.
Mercyful Fate is eternal!
Hail from our Brazilian fan club.
The almighty king.
saw them in 85 variety theater in Cleveland with Motorhead front row. 16 years old. Changed my life!! True story For real shit...
heavy music Must’ve been weird seeing two vocalists that look similar but have two extremely different vocal styles
@@-somedude 🤓 y'mean you sat with Motorhead in the first row ?
Holy Chit...same here but in Santa Barbara CA - Arlington theatre ....opener EXCITER I was 14
Don't Break the Oath is one of the greatest songs ever written, deal with it.
R.I.P. Timmi Hansen
Nah, the mixture of high and low vocals works perfectly, especially on the albums.
A lot of attention goes to KD, and for natural reasons, but I just love seeing the Shermann & Denner duo in action.
This is some bad ass stuff, saw this tour when they opened for Motorhead.
Don't Break the Oath was their best release to me. This song has it all. It's too bad King disbanded MF again though because he said he can't make a living off MF compared to his solo project. His new CD is good but I prefer Sherman and Denner behind the guitars. Oh well.
13 dislike have lost their mind..... Uh yes.. Their mind!!
I bought this Album just before I moved from LA to the hills of Tennessee ,its a wonder the locals didn't burn me to the stake
I'm a Tennessian and it's hard to be a mercyful fate fan here nobody gets it
@@fatherkarras2483 Tennessean also, I've never met another one that listens to King or Mercyful Fate.
RIP Timi Hansen.
This will always be my favorite track from King.
one of the greates and evilest riffs in the metal history
Great F**k! - they're all over the place!
I don't think they're even keeping the same time. This has been one of my fave tracks since it was released, but this sounds as bad as when I saw them in NYC in 1996 (or so). Bummer.
Fuck Yeah! Dude, I used to listen to Mercyful Fate way back in the day ('86, '87, '88..etc) Melissa and some other album with Mission Destroy Aliens used to spin on my turn table non-stop. Michael Denner and Hank Shermann played guitar like no other.
Fun Fact: The inverted cross is an old Christian symbol called the Cross of St. Peter. It was originally deemed more respectable to wear it around in public rather than the right-side-up version to pay respect to Christ. So yeah.
Thank You!!! this is just heavy metal
i don't care if it's satanic i fucking love MERCYFUL FATE
And THAT, my friends, is why he is THE KING!
He didn't solo in this song. It was Denner.
Thank you for the upload!
tonight the circle is meeting agaaaaain!!!
I hope the King comes to Media Ballroom in Minnesota when he gets well!!!!
Oh dam your from Minnesota to 🤟🤟🤟🤟😅😅😅😅
Chills my spine!
yeah, mercyful fate was combination of nwbm and trash, with the looks and lyrics that lead to black metal. musically totally different. slick guitars, high clear vocals, not nearly as many beats per second on bass drums. love them both.
vaenkyrae..u kick ass!! fabulous video !!! cheers and stay heavy!!
how come i never hear this kinda shit on the radio? FUCK!
have the Don't break the Oath picture LP..favorite song on the albumn
The best Fate song ever and so true!
Yeah dude I agree, "Don't Break the Oath" is Mercyful Fate's best album, and Sherman and Denner were awesome guitarist's (Into the Coven YEAH!), but and Andy la Roque is a badass too, and Them is by far King Diamond's best album with his project. LONG LIVE METAL!
-------King Diamond for President!-------
This is the music our parents warned us about lads.
I have missed last year.
king diamond is a texan like George W bush.. has been for the last 20 years... i used to be a huge fan from the age of 8 til i was 13
One of my favorite mercyful fate tunes. i still have my dont break the oath cassette.
I heard that too, wouldn't doubt if its true!
classic metal song from mid eighties...ya
Why isnt Mercyful Fate considered one of the Trash Metal great ones? I mean, i know they are considered Black metal, but their sound clearly inspired the whole deal. I hear a lot of Metallica in the Dont Break The Oath album.
So fucking good
Look at him the king Fuckin amazing!!!!
This is from the St Petersburg, Florida show in 93 isn't it? I have the very same bootleg. One of the best I have ever seen.
Awesome!!!
HAIL THE GODS OF BLACK METAL!!!
What a fucking Great soNg!! =D
Thx King for existiNg!!
Michael Denner is a Perfect awesome Guitarrist.
well today you could say thats but when they came out they were hard as hell and cool rythems and very evel i was tripped out on them but i picked millisa over ozzi back in the day and than it was on
I own this video
Masterpiece!!
i'm fan !!!
all hail the king!
Death Kiss was the original demo version of the song before it became A Dangerous Meeting
Awesome!
hell yeah king is the king
Mercyful Fate era do kct!! Sonzeira!
HELL YEAH 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 MERCYFULFATE/KING DIAMOND
@IVomitOnYourGod well im not satanic but i love that kind of music, if you like this kind of music listen to urgehal youre gonna love them
never thought he sings as good live as he sings in the studio - I'm really impressed! just take a look at halford, he just can't do it anymore... many vocalists are horrible live!
@AckbarFlakes slayer didnt have it to the degree that MF Had it. King was drinking blood out of goat skulls. Plus they were a HUGE influence on the Norwegian scene that would follow. Definitely first wave black metal.
waw !!!
that's weird, he didn't when I saw him. in fact, he was looking at the floor most of the time and I think he used a lot of overdubs. have you listened to AoR? they're everywhere!
I haven't heard much of iron maiden live, but yeah bruce dickinson is not all that good anymore. but with "horrible" I mean the likes of james hetfield for example.
its good to know theres still some people with a brain in their head.
would kill to fucking hear this song live by mercyful fate king diamond is a god
By definition this is Black Metal Its not a label it is a genre which means nothing.
long live to the king ! fuck yes para siempre
It's all abut Don't Break the Oath, but you can't deny Abigail or Them. King Diamond is a different sound, more theatrical.
Tremendo!
his mic-stand is from a real human.. he broke in to a morgue and stole leg bones...
stop negging...he actually nails the falsetto with a lot of sustain. not bad for a live recording, though the sound q on the vid is sucky...what you're probably not hearing is the overdubbed harmony vocals on the studio recordings.
@thegriefhole
They are one of the bands that started it. With the face paint and Satanic lyrics and such.
QUE GRAVAÇÃO HEIN!!
Venom does, and they are british =P
YEA BABY FATE ROXXXXXXXX
Why doesn't Hank play the opening riff like on the album?
Ooohhhhh so scarrrryyyyy!!!
Clássica dmais!!
\../
Their best song imo
definitive timbre.
luciano fleury
his the king ..\m/
Wish he still sounded like this. Might be less accurate, but quality was better.
Getting too old I guess.
Temazo
Denmark
no ghosts sounds like the album version
essa é a hora que os bruxos reinam e os cemitérios despertam,o inferno exala peste sobre o mundo.agora beberia sangue quente e cometeria ações tão cruéis que o dia de vê-las, haveria de tremer. HAMLET
I respect your opinion...but the best Fate song in existence...is Satan's Fall.
muiiiiitooooooooooooooooooo fodaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa /,,/
they should of should have known not to play with the powers of hell!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sharlee D'angelo of Arch Enemy playing bass!
Is that the late great Peter Steele on bass?
+littleteethkeith No, although he does flip his hair the same way Pete did. His name is Sharlee D'Angelo.
littleteethkeith I thought so too
Not giant enough 😂
4:21 onwards is nuts
Aughsumm
dude... that song is "Death kiss"?
Raise the Dead
classic "British rock"...lol, sure bro. Just wondering what "British" band plays like Fate.
