Tuomas in 2008 about producing Indica's album : "In my opinion, Indica has always been one of the finest bands in Finland. I'm a big fan and that's why I wanted to do this. We were on a joint Nightwish-Indica tour and they asked me then. I had to think for a while because of my own busy schedule. In the end, it just felt like if I don't do this now, I'll regret it for the rest of my life. Indica is the closest to me soulwise than any other band. I really hope I didn't ruined their album and did my job well!"
I'm still waiting for u to do a reaction to "Hiljaisen Talven Lapsi". It's like a What If story of how NW would have sound in some other multiverse where Tuomas never made a band with Tarja, Jukka and Emppu
This still exudes the happiness! There is also a live nightwish song with a violinist... Marko has sung a Finnish lullaby... also the opening song on the rocking chair, behind the curtain. His "Song of my Father", was done in two languages, the Finnish one is beautiful.
Nightwish recorded only 3 songs in Finnish - Lappi (from the first album), Kuolema tekee taiteilijan (from the album Once) and Erämaan viimeinen. You have listened to two of three songs, last one is left.
Indica was founded in 2001 by Johanna Salomaa (nicknamed "Jonsu"; vocals, violin), Heini Säisä (bass), Sirkku Karvonen (keyboards), Jenny Julia Mandelin (guitar) and Laura Häkkänen (drums).
This is a deep dive into the Finnish soul in general and Tuomas in particular. The video is stunning. Just beautiful. But listen, listen to the lyrics. English doesn't quite do it justice. Tuomas also uses some Old Finnish here, such is his genius.
Wow, I never knew about this! Lovely. Note that Finland isn't actually part of Scandinavia, even though they are neighbours and have very close ties. I'd certainly tune in for Indica reactions, and will go and give them a listen anyway!
The landscape of Tuomas. He hiked in deep forests with Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica) to set his mind when they had the first troubles with NW line-up and he almost ended NW first time. Tony supported him to continue and his thoughts were corrected during those wilderness hikes. They have done a song "Kuolema tekee taiteilijan" in Finnish. You can do both "End of an Era" and "Lowlands" versions - I think there is English translation of the extreme deep lyrics which makes Navy seals to cry.
This version was also published in a magazine called Metal Hammer and only there as far as I know in Germany as well. And: I got it 😊 second song on this short CD was the instrumental version, 3rd one was Escapist and 4th one Escapist (instrumental)
Great reaction as always. Jonsu is the vocalist for the finnish band Indica. And yes, her voice is unique, and quite beautiful. Her style of singing suits this song perfectly. If you want to hear something that is Nightwish related, and has both finnish and english versions, you should listen to Marko's solo album, Pyre of the Black Heart. He first released it in finnish, and later made an english version of it, both versions are awesome, even though I don't speak finnish.
It could be difficult for Floor to perform Greatest Show On Earth in Finnish, because Hannes took Floor to Sweden from Finland and she didn't learn Finnish properly😉Moving to Sweden may have saved Floor's life, if she goes to the public cancer screenings, apparently they start at a younger age in Sweden. Although Floor's Finnish language skills are not perfect, her performance is always a pleasure.ruclips.net/video/ym1Wc5dmUYc/видео.htmlfeature=shared
One of the few songs sung in Finnish by Tarja, Kuolema tekee taiteiljan "Death makes an artist" is very beautiful. From Tuomas' soul. Please react to that if you have the time.
To comment your reasoning about the language, since Tarja the have not had a native finnish speaker singer, so obviously it would be hard to pull many lyrics in finnish. Ofcourse there's Marko, but their choice have been this. And yes, this is beatiful elegy for finnish nature, for some rural souls their funeral song, not sad, but proud and uplifting given the chance to live as a part of it.
Indica have been very quiet for a few years but have a new album coming out soon. I thoroughly recommend "In Passing" from their A Way Away album (Tuomas & Pip Williams worked on it)

Kiitos for reacting this version

I belive it’s kantele playing at 6:22. A Finlands national instrument.

Thank you, love this song and your reaction!

This version is great but also the instrumental is amazing. Can't actually decide which one is better.

great reaction, love you both☺
I do love this song, although Jonsu's voice is so distinctive that when I first heard the song I thought it was her band Indica instead of Nightwish.

I think you are speaking of Auri? Indica was totally different band.
