As John Prine sang "some humans ain't human". For me the song now has a much deeper spiritual meaning to it. I think he wrote it about a man who pretends he is a guru and a prophet and sells books that are just a bunch of woo woo to the vulnerable. It is hard to find a word that rhymes with Deepak, so he left it for us to figure it out. Much love.
Deepak’s ideas are far more compelling and intuitively feel right than those of supposed men of science like Michael Shermer or Sam Harris who go well out of their way to deliberately misunderstand what he’s saying

That particular quote sums up the whole book, so would you grant me one thing which i ask in all the respect and humility i feel addressing (indeed, correcting !) an individual from whom i have learned so much and whose wise words i listen to daily. The pain is an experience yes ( emotional pain/physical pain) it is not part of our our true spiritual nature.. SO when we don't process emotion and hold it in, doesn't it become part of our physical being to some degree ( manifesting as illness or blockages) , and is that because of our mistaken choice in identifying with the ego identity as our true selves that the emotion gets stuck in our form?
