I am from India. And I well remember I used to follow this same method to improve my speaking in English. For me, this is the best way of improving your speaking. I would suggest, just to practice speaking by listening any kind of documentary film first because the narrators of docu films, they always try to speak as slowly as possible for better understanding of the viewer. I remember I used to follow Sir David Attenborough's speaking at first. I had watched all of his documentary films and as well as practiced speaking English with him. And believe me, I have never heard no other speaker's pronunciation as clear as him.
Hello Antonio, I love you so much! You explain English very clearly, it motivates me so much to practice and learn English . I watch your videos every day. Thanks for your positive attitude ❤️🥰❤️
Antonio quando ti ascolto rimango incantata da quanto sei bravo, grazie per l'incoraggiamento ma penso che tu abbia anche una certa predisposizione per le lingue. A me piace molto l'inglese, lo capisco di più rispetto a parlarlo. Mi impegnerò. ciao
bee a fan of yours since the day I came across your channel...thank you so much because I learn a lot from you...I'm from the Philippines... a silent subscriber here...God bless us always.🙏🙏🙏☝
Thanks a lot! Your teaching is perfect and I love it. Can you please teach how to pronouns R sound in American English that's really hard sometimes I can't pronounce. Thank you 😊
My English vocabulary is awesome but my pronunciation sucks!! Even a computer does not understand what I am saying!!! hihi... Thank you very much... I will try your tips and give you feedback in about a month.
You're an awesome teacher! Could you make a video or even a series of videos using shadowing? It would mean a lot to us who want to improve our pronunciation. Thanks.:)
I just wanted to share what i thought an interesting experience on how I learned my english grammar and pronunciation. I applied for an English teaching job (which I knew nothing about and I wasn't even speaking English at that time). At first it was a struggling having to memorize these English skits/scripts for my students. (Luckily tho, I was only teaching lil kids that time so it was just phonetics and building rapport) It wasn't until 6 - 7 months when I started noticing how I could speak English naturally and pronounce it fluently. I guess, I wasn't the only one teaching, I was also the one learning. :) watching movies, RUclips videos and watching Antonio unconsciously helped me build this sort of learning blocks that speaking English fluently just came out of nowhere LOL This is where i realized that, lets not underestimate the power of listening skills. This can naturally help us converse verbally or thru writing.
Hey Antonio ! I've heard a song lately called meglio di Sera by Emma Muscat and I don't understand what the line "mi perdo per la stada come una lambada" mean. Please explain it to me 🙏
As always, thanks for making incredible technique for learning English 💖 actually I'm really enthusiastic to learn and talk Italian ( it's an amazing language) but unfortunately there isn't video as much as English. Can you please Introduce books, websites , chanel or anything useful for learning Italian by basic , or can you make videos by yourself? I'm really confused and I'll be so glad and happy to get help by you Thanks again ✨
I would like to learn literally anything about the IPA alphabet so if you want to make a video about it, it will be appreciated❤️ Love you and your work Antonio
I’m a frequent user of the IPA, being a linguistics enthusiast. The way I started learning it was just learning the way it works for my native language (which happens to be English) through English Wikipedia and especially the “Help:IPA/English” and “English Phonology” pages. You can usually replace the “English” in that with the name of any other language (or “Standard [name of language]”) to get the same for your own language. A couple of videos that explain IPA consonants and vowels in more depth from the channel polýMATHY (which has very useful information on linguistics and philology): Consonants: ruclips.net/video/olM1mm66YPw/видео.html Vowels: ruclips.net/video/tpR5GdKXpGc/видео.html The only thing I’ll highlight is that IPA has different levels of detail depending on the purpose. “Broad” transcriptions in /slashes/ generally leave out information that either isn’t relevant or is predictable from context for a particular language. “Narrow” transcriptions in [square brackets] are far more specific about exact pronunciation. A good example is that broadly, English has the sound /æ/ like in “cat”; narrowly, in my own dialect, that sound is pronounced [a]. Also, if you ever have questions about it, there are always going to be places and people you can ask!
I'll also be delighted to watch some videos of your channel on ipa. Thanks for all your tips, I'm sure they are quite useful. I've actually heard of 2 of them during my time as ESL student. They are shadowing and recording oneself. An interesting fact is that shadowing is also recommended for those studying interpreting. Finally, Antonio, I'll be glad if you could make a video on tips to improve one's english vocabulary
Hello Antonio, I love your videos, and the way you teach. I admire that you speak multiple languages. I thought you lived in US, because of your excellent English and your pronunciation. Appreciate you.
Antonio, you're a language learner "after my own heart!" Meaning I couldn't agree with you more when it comes to the tips & advice you offer! I share your passion for languages and relate in particular to something you mentioned in another video about how pronunciation was your "passionate stepping stone" into learning English. For me it was the same when I began learning French at age 14 in the middle of rural Pennsylvania where I grew up! Luckily I had a super high school French teacher who taught us the IPA, and which made learning French pronunciation a whole lot easier (totally demystified the challenges of learning French as an English native speaker). I'm a language teacher educator in Paris and will be recommending many of your videos to my students this year! Grazie mille per il tuo impegno nella realizzazione dei video! Complimenti!
I've been learning English since I was 8 years old but I never took it so seriously as I'm taking it right now. I really wanna improve my vocabulary and intonation and I'm doing my best to achieve my goal.
Thanks for sharing, to be honest, the best way to learn the IPA is not learning them through the symbols. Nothing is better than listening and trying to repeat them as many time as possible, Not more not less⭐
Before I found your channel, I have learned British English through English With Lucy channel, and also from LinguaMarina channel. I Inspire teacher Marina because she is Russian but her English is excellent like you. Maybe is there any collaborations between you and them one day?
Hey Antonio I'd love to hear your thoughts on shadowing non-native speakers with great English like yourself, for example. Would you recommend it? Great video as usual.
Let me chime in here… You could absolutely shadow Antonio because you can’t tell that he is a non-native. I am a native and Antonio speaks better than most natives I know! So yes, shadow non-natives who speak well. Have fun 🤩
Hi, how are you hope you are safe and healthy. Could you pleeease answer my question which is does shadowing REALLY work?? from your own experience did it help you to master your American accent or it played a big role
Truely your the greatest, your lessons are really helping us to improve our English knowledge and another thing I’m having lip slips while im pronouncing please give some tricks to make it better thanks love from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
