- Have a seat and enjoy a delicious plate of "Chicken for Linda!" We were both so charmed by this animated French film from GKIDS that we couldn't wait to tell you about it. The movie follows the adventures of a single mom who tries to assuage her daughter by making her favorite meal: chicken with peppers. This increasingly farcical situation leads to big laughs but also genuine emotions. Written and directed by Sébastien Laudenbach and Chiara Malta. Featuring the voices of Mélinée Leclerc, Clotilde Hesme, Laetitia Dosch and Patrick Pineau. In theaters now.

I absolutely adore this film. Saw it at this year's NYICFF with an Q and A with the directors.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Robot Dreams! It opened in Australia a few weeks back and is the best thing I've seen all year. I can't remember the last time I cried as hard at the end of a film.
Hey there! I got a chance to see this in New York a couple of weekends ago, and after hearing so many great things about it, I was very underwhelmed. I think the animation is breathtaking, especially the way the color palette captures the hues of the night and in darkened rooms, but I felt like even though the mother was a flawed character, I couldn’t quite wrap my head around some of the decisions she chooses to make throughout the narrative and I felt a lot of the plot felt unnecessarily heightened. And yes, I know what musical number you were talking about Christy, and I completely agree lol. Overall, still a charming film! Should be seen just for the animation alone.
