My mom say she carried me on a pillow for the first few months of my life because she was scared to break me. Little did she know it would mostly only be stupid little reasons I would break, not when I was being active or being dumb kid 😅
This little baby had a broken clavicle and was in immense pain. It turned out he had osteogenesis imperfecta - brittle bone disease 😟 He was crying for good reason.
I also have OI. I came out with broken bones in multiple places. That’s why she carried me in a pillow. I guess my comment wasn’t that appropriate for this video and got that I apologize. I’m not really why I commented it. My brain stopped working 😅
In the story she's a Christian Scientist, not a Pentecostalist, and the issue is that her religion has told her that it is wrong to give the baby pain medication.
You figure it out and sleeping habits even out after a few weeks. You also sleep when the baby sleeps the first several weeks. Not every baby cries all the time either.
If I remember correctly he had a disease that made his bones break very easily, from the slightest things. They suspected child abuse first, but then they came to this idea because the baby kept breaking bones after taking him away from the parents. It is a rare condition, so they didn't consider it for quite a while. After the diagnosis they apologize to the parents and they get back the baby.
@@veronicabaillargeon5775 wouldn't that be osteogenesis imperfecta? Spina bifida was that other kid where the mother had to be shocked into seeing that she didn't want her kid raised in an institution
Those poor parents need help, not criticism. So glad the sister stopped by ❤
Babies cry--why are men so surprised by that? I knew a "man" who used to rant and rave about his babies crying.... Not very mature of him.
Agreed 👍 ❤❤❤
They were prioritising their religious beliefs over the baby's welfare and safety. They were badly in need of constructive criticism
Call the Midwife, season 4, episode 5.
Wasn't this the baby that had a broken clavicle?
Turned out to be brittle bone disease.
Yes. I think this scene is right before Sister Julienne discovers that. They eventually figured out that the baby had osteogenesis imperfecta
Yeah 👍 😊

What’s the older woman’s beef with us Pentecostals?
Huh 🤔
The mother was not giving pain medication to the little baby because God said no

Was the baby ill 😢?

He has a broken collar bone from birth but also has a disease
I believe the diagnosis was spina bifida imperfecta commonly known as brittle bone disease.
