I finally managed to shoot a quick video on this super rare french sampling drum machine from 1986 - one of my absolute favorite drum machine of all times :)
thx espen 🙏 a real honor to hear that from you ☝️ even the handling is kind of „fiddly“ and those switches are terrible it‘s one of my top 5 machines 🔈❤️
thx bruno ❤️ it was a tough and long search though 🔦 😉 but one of the machines which actually still makes sense today / i think those limitations are always great to get things done 😉
I know RSF because of the poly kobol and because JM Jarre use some of those legendary synth, i saw another french singer from the 80's that use there drum machine, i never heard before they build kind of DMX or linndrum style, this sound interesting, most people complain about the many bugs of there product, but it sound realy unique, hope Arturia guy's try to replicate that on software or hardware.
they actually built 3 cool drum machines (dd15, dd3o and this one) i also have a kobol (but no poly) - they did sone very unique and great sounding synths 🔈👌
@@onedrumcomputeraday196 very lovely crunchy sound, some gear freak rebuild some real 8 and 12 bit dac circuit could be interesting, i have an old SP 202 back in the day with just 30 khz of res it make every drum loop beafy as fuck, but some plug in do that very well and also simulate the analog filtering process even my roland trigger e drum module have a bit crusher , but an hardware rebuilt of some drum machine like SP 1200 E-mu or that one could be cool.
Never heard of that! Looks like a lot fun and sounds super crunchy.
it really is a LOT of fun despite those membrane switches - very rewarding crunchiness 🔈👌
Ed DMX Krew sent me here. I like how he made a sort of clone of it when his rsf was stolen because he had little or no hope of finding another one.
yeah - that’s the most prominent use of the 140. his clone actually looks & sounds pretty cool 🔈👌
nice, fat kick tom ;) so hard to find ;) any old alternative ? or modern analo, modular can come close maybe .. ;) cheers
Excellent machine and great video! :)
