Fallout 4: No Mods Decorating at Spectacle Island

- As I work towards finishing up my build at Spectacle Island I decided to address some requests/comments I have received in the past regarding decorating and how I do it without mods. This video features me decorating one area of the settlement: the Atom Cats Garage! At the end I give a mini-tour of this one section of the settlement as a preview of the larger video(s) to come.
Notes:
*Build was done on a Playstation 5 using the "Fallout 4: Game of the Year" edition which includes all DLCs.
*Now and then I cut some of the scrolling around in my Pip Boy to save time so you'll see some transitions here and there while dropping items.
*I do provide commentary throughout the video, but there are stretches of just decorating with background music. Feel free to skip around.

I like to think wastelander can be quite resource full. A fas canister for a water bucket, a water buckets for a cooking pot, a tin can for a cup etc.
Good ideas!
Totally love it, watching this while decorating ur own settlements is lit. Glad there are plenty Gamer enjoying this side of Fallout 4. Good job just finished my 3rd build ever, the castle probably make a video about it. Thanks for sharing.
I find these informative and relaxing. Awesome!
I’m so glad! I figured at the very least this video could help viewers take a nap. 😅
I came to check if anything has been made in the last few months and I was just on time. Amazing job, I am absolutely amazed how you can build so well, and without mods!.
Thank you kindly!
39:18. If you just wanna see the tour
Btw, this build Is beautiful. It was so relaxing to see you decor with that music in the background
No mod settlement builds are the best since they're more authentic compared to modded settlement builds
Question: my decoration items drop through tables and other things after a while how can I prevent my decoration from vanishing?
2:55 I know it's early but it's interesting how alphabetical your decor is so far. I spend more time going all the way up and down through my inventory menu just deciding which single item in my inventory I should place than you have in placing several items combined. I'm way too worried about trying to make a story or get inside the mind of a settler even though I've known all along that is not worth my time to do and just leads to paralysis.
11:14 One of my pet peeves is storing pictures in the PipBoy. I know it's a lot of work but I always manually carry them home so their picture doesn't disappear. I'll just assume, right or wrong for my own sanity, that those ones either had no picture or came from an interior cell.
13:02 It's sad that Bethesda never bothered to fix such obvious issues that still exist from day one.
13:31 Noticing that a lot of time you drop the item from your inventory with no preset idea of where it will end up being placed. Perhaps not even what room it will be placed in. I tend to look at a single shelf or table and plan out every single item for it. I'm liking your more free and random approach.
20:10 It's not something I always do but when dealing with smaller items, like the resized tools from the Greygarden Homestead, I will sometimes place some of the clean Vault Tec floors (clinic maybe?) to drop them on. Makes them a bit easier to find.
26:15 Ooh, another thing to try and hunt down. I wonder where it came from?
35:16 I had to look up Aqua Pura in Fallout 4. I knew of it in 3 but not 4.
At the beginning of the vid you mentioned losing track of time while decorating. I lost track of time watching you decorate. It didn't feel like 42 minutes at all.
I do enjoy watching how others work and learning from them. Even though you were obviously using mods to decorate this one.
Looking forward to the full tour.
Thanks for watching Sheck! Great to hear from you. Curious what mods you believe I am using to decorate? I’m still doing no mods. Just curious.
@@BWTF_Ben It was a joke. Perhaps a bad joke. I was trying to be like all the people who don't believe you when you say it's all mod free.
@@theinsaneshecklador6598 Ha! Awesome. Sorry, text is a terrible medium isn’t it? BTW I recently found a burned book that *actually fits* in the bookshelves but I have no idea where I got them. Any thoughts?
@@BWTF_Ben I've seen a couple sizes of books but I'm not sure of their whereabouts.
Yes, emotion can be hard to convey through text at times. I guess I should have added an emoji.
@@theinsaneshecklador6598 Thx! I think I’m going to have to go on a hunt now for different sized shot glasses and books! As always, I appreciate you commenting. I consider you one of my “teachers” so it means a lot. 😊
do you have a discord for fallout 4 builders? I would love to nerd out with other Builders and it would be nice to chat while I am in fallout 4
Doesn't your settlers kick your items into oblivion???
Always. Items eventually get knocked around during settlement attacks or fall through the floor etc. I always decorate and do my videos right away.
