  • What's in the box!!! Fear not, it's only a 35mm compact point and shoot from Nikon. I've always wanted a compact camera that easily fits in my pocket, and Nikon's premium compact camera from the 1990's has always stood out to me, and one unique thing in particular, the top display.
    FILM USED:
    Kodak Gold 200
    Kodak Ultramax 400
    Ilford HP5 Plus

I had a 28ti for many years. Great camera. Loved it for climbing/mountain photography.

I almost bought the 28, but I think someone got there before I did when I went to place an order. Though not disappointed I got the 35mm.

Just stumbled upon this review while trying to buy my first point and shoot and I’m honestly shocked that this only has a couple hundred views. Your broll content is beautifully lit and edited in a quality that I’ve rarely seen on this platform.
Would love to see reviews of similar point and shoots like the Leica minilux or the contax t2
Instant sub, looking forward to seeing more!

I immediately recognised those beach huts and dunes, and the funfair. Then later shots confirmed the location. Thanks for the video, I'm almost convinced to buy a 35Ti.

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you find a Nikon. Though I'm sure you'll still be able to create amazing images even if you can't get a hold of one.

More than 20 years ago, I decided to buy my first and last point and shoot 35mm camera. I chose down to a Nikon 35Ti and Contax T2. In the end, I bought both, tested the lenses for resolution and image coverage, tried them for ergonomics and just to see how I related. In the end, I resold the Nikon and kept the T2 to this day. Reasons: The Nikon as the better meter system, but the on-film results did not seem to be significantly different. The Nikon lens is a bit sharper in the image center at most apertures, but the T2 is a bit better toward the edges and corners. I liked the T2 better by an insignificant bit because its results were more even across the whole image. That said, you can make a very sharp enlargement to 11x14 inches from either. My deal-breaker was camwera controls. Adjustments on the T2 are basic and boringly where you would expect them. No LED panels or tiny dials to read like the Nikon. No flash control fussing with the T2. Those front panel flash control buttons (modified in later production) on the Nikon are almost unusable. The Nikon has a lot more use programmable features, most all of which you do not need, and they are accessed though an inscrutable multi-level menu system which require you to read the manual each time you want to adjust. Last comment: With a slightly bigger body and a lens which does not retract into the camera when "off", the Konica Hexar AF has a lens which is one stop faster, much sharper, and a feature set which shames both the 35Ti and T2. If I used my T2 much (I do not), I'd sell it and get the Konica.

The wire on the PCB is easy to break down leaving repair is hard as there were no spare parts! Mine is not working right now!

Thanks very much. I just use an Epson flatbed scanner and film holders. Though I do use some additional software called Laser Soft, as they have in-built film profiles. Hope that helps

Great voice dude. You sound like a professional VO narrator. Maybe you are. Soothing relaxing voice. Anyway, found this camera in my dads stuff. why are they so valuable still?

    • @NickSmithPhoto

Thanks for the compliment! I guess they were a ‘premium’ point and shoot and I guess with the resurgence in film, I guess the value is holding?
