    Food is so important. Especially when nursing- that blood sugar gets low and I’m a different person. Yesterday I just had to put baby in wearable carrier and let him fuss for 10 mins while I ate a quick lunch. It’s ok for them to cry for a minute while you meet your needs. Eating is necessary to be a patient, loving mom.

    The food piece is so real! I didn't realize how much I was delaying meals or skipping snacks if my first was remotely upset. At 10-ish months, I couldn't believe I weighed less than my PRE-baby weight! I was super skinny, but super nutritionally depleted. After resolving this and learning it's okay to eat while baby is upset (rocking the bouncer with my foot or something) things improved. I had a few friends tell me later that I look healthy now and seemed frail/gaunt in that season. Part of me is like "Why didn't you tell me?!" and part of me gets them not wanting to make me more miserable than I already was. Anyway, nourish yourself!!

      Love this! Thank you so much for sharing!! It is hard to eat when our babies are upset but it helps so much! If we feel better then we have more bandwidth to handle it all. So happy you were able to feel better!

      This is my exact experience. Baby is 10 months and I’m trying to figure out the weight loss. (Am I sick? Is this a weird perimenopause thing?)

    This is so wonderful! Thank you for sharing ❤️ I’m a mama of 3 boys (6, 4 and almost 1) and I’ve gotten so burned out… Finally this month I’ve decided to give myself the gift of health (for my birthday month!) and not feel guilty for doing things for myself that bring me joy/peace! Starting with no Instagram for the month (mental health) and also trying to move my body in some way 3 times a week… going on a walk, doing an easy workout to help heal my diastasis recti… and then also just telling myself it’s okay to do things sloooowly and sit with my boys and read and take our time and there’s no need to rush. ❤️

    I am listening to you discribing your kids, and I have only one child and it seems to me that she is very similar to Jules. I am a bit scared to have another one because of that, but are you saying that there are children that actually dont have huge tantrums if they dont get their way??? 😅 I had no idea that that would even be an option 😂

    I don’t know how people have time to have friends and kids. Even mom friends. My kids are on nap schedules that mean someone is always sleeping. How are you supposed to meet up with people who ALSO have napping children???

    • @jess_hover
      @jess_hover  Месяц назад

      Ugh I went through a stage where I felt that too! It felt like I always had one child napping. Everything changed when my kids got on the same nap schedule. Hang it there! Also making friends via the internet is a real thing! Maybe you could join a group like ours (Very Good Mothers Club) and connect via zoom while at home. I was really skeptical that it could help but I ended up making amazing friendships that way. sending love 💕
